Taken with my canon 7D with Macro lens 100mm. It was my first trial with this lens and I'm hooked on macro now

Slightly jealous LOL that is such a great shot

Thank you. I'm just learning really. I like to potter about with my editing, although I usually keep it simple. I like the contrasts of stuff, and I like to play with a bit of colour in it, too. This one got me a little prize in a newspaper:

This is such a great shot love the contrast
Cycling as in roadies that's my gig. be all honest don't have major cable just the basic stuff so doubtful unless I can catch some of it online I will watch to much. Not really a huge sports fan here
Was just messing around one day taking some different shots of my bike. Yep a cheap as hell no controls point and shoot digi. Not photoshopped either though I do use it at times to do some minor tweaking. I'm one I prefer to leave them alone.

This is taken with a newer camera model (Canon's 60D as opposed to my 400D)...although I don't find an awful lot of different in the image quality between these cameras I do find mine is lacking when it comes to the close ups..

My great grandmother's engagement and wedding ring.

Really great shot there.

Like all the shots you posted but this one especially catches my eye nice shot
Fresh wild berries just coming into season yeah that is summer at its best
Pretty much about 3 or 4 years ago. Met a girl she had showed me some of her poetry and had been reading it on lush for a while kinda gave it a shot. I don't do a lot of writing more when the mood strikes me
the window is open so listening to the birds sing among other outdoors noises
Having the power back on transformer blew up earlier tonight was without it for a good 6 or so hours

You would do well with the "TREE HUGGERS" out there. They don't like to let go.

I have hugged many trees ... due to climbing them. I have slept in trees, had sex in a tree, pee'd behind/next to a tree. Built tree houses .... I LOVE trees. When I first look at a tree ... I look at it, wondering if I could climb it. After I assess it, I do it.

Some of my favorite trees:
Sugar Magnolia (any part of the magnolia family)
Oak
Pecan
Dogwood
Cheery Blossom
Crepe Myrtle
Eucalyptus
Redwoods
Weeping Willow

WAY TOO MANY TO LIST

A favorite of mine to carve. Tree huggers wouldn't like me so much I like using wood for camp fires to

I totally agree. I've always favoured hand tools over power tools. It just feels more natural. I was fortunate enough to have a very good woodworking teacher who understood wood very well and was well versed in old, traditional methods. Watching him work was amazing and actually getting to learn some of the traditional woodworking skills was fun. All this talk about woodwoking has just reminded me that I have to make some tuning pegs for my uke, honestly though I'm dreading it because they have to be so damned precise but I'll soldier on and even if it takes me months, I'll do it all by hand because that's the way it should be done. I think the wood is more forgiving of someone who works with hand tools rather than power tools.

Do take pics of it. Lathe work is something I never got to try. Though I have the idea at one point to do a foot powered pole lather

That sounds like good fun, actually, as long as you don'y do what I do and skip around merrily singing songs and smiling like some insane person (as an amusing aside, there is a mental hospital near my local park and you sometimes see escapees just hanging around but I swear, I'm sane(ish)). I keep forgetting to take my camera out with me on walks but I'll remember the next time because I, too, enjoy taking pictures of trees and I've done my fair share of scaring dog walkers (especially when I'm stoned).

I used to love when I had woodwork in school because of the smell of the wood as you were working on it. The wood seems to guide you, am I right Easy_rider75? T_Elle, it sounds like you've got a great spiritual connection with trees and don't feel like it's a dirty secret, it's beautiful. I also enjoy watching the world go by from a tree and thank you for flattering me WmCutterBlack, seriously, hug a tree if you haven't already, it'll thank you for it. Like I said in my status, trees love hugs.

It's nice to know there are other fellow tree lovers around, insane tree love to y'all!

Yep specially considering now all my work is done strictly with hand tools you don't work the wood it works you. Like you used to do wood working in school to haven't in years though I much prefer this method to power tools these days
Good post Buz. I had an uncle who was stationed in England. several friends I knew were in both theaters of the war
Nope technically not a tree hugger but I do like trees. I like to walk around them and work with them being a wood carver wood has a great soul to me. Birch and apple being to of the top favorites of mine the feel and the smell when working them out amongst the trees yeah some get it some don't
Little of everything have done roofing as in helper I don't go on them LOL computer work building and repairing. Work on cars and now starting a wood carving business aso do a bit of landscaping and painting to
