I am flying out to see Layla early next week, and we are road-tripping back here! She will officially live here in 8 days! Huzzah! This has been in the planning stages for over a year!

Köffee, please.

This makes me very, very, very happy to hear. Every good wish for you both. I know Milik and Simmie enjoyed their road trip - I know yours will be grand.

Like everyone else this is indeed well deserved. Always so nice and have helped me at various times. Really deserving to a wonderful man.

Oh what a really, really, really AWESOME choice for the award. A delight and wonderfully loyal person. Yippee!

Sir, congratulations on being in the top ten. You are a great writer and it was a good story. You earned it.
Time to quickly finish up so I can relax for a bit.

I agree, Tonya, Larry did earn it and it was a great story. Interesting that he must have been in #11 place. I am happy for him.

Too bad. He could be kind of rude, but I sort of liked him nonetheless.

I liked him too and was sorry to hear he made it so final.
Doesn't matter if it's a little late as long as it comes with sincere wishes for a wonderful year to come

You are certainly noticed around here and missed when you are away. This place wouldn't be the same without your bright smile and great words of wisdom.

I will second this, one of the open, witty, very real and truly sweet members.

It's time for a little celebration for me. I'll have a virgin Hannah, Rump man.

I just had a micro fiction approved on 'sacre bleu' and it was lucky enough to get a Recommended Read. I think it is one that should be seen by a lot of people. If anyone wants to check it out then remember it is only 100 words. Not a lot to read. Here you go.

Thanks friends and neighbors.

On a lesser note I have some sunflowers just starting to sprout against the back of the townhouse. I'll keep you informed as to their growth.

Congratulations on the RR, I think that might make you the person with the most RR's on blue? And you are lucky if you can get your sunflowers to grow without tampering. I just finished planting annuals in big flowerpots on the back porch and there was a big squirrel digging it up this morning. I ran over to the window and pounded and it just looked at me in the window. Had a look like "what's your problem?"

But I will happily join you in a virgin Hannah.

Hot black coffee, please, and a tall cold Bloody Mary!

Rump, your LSU does have quite a long storied history in Track & Field. For UGA, this national title in Track & Field is a first. The Dawgs usually excel at the spring sports, men's and women's tennis, and golf, women's swimming & diving, and have a pretty good baseball and softball tradition. I also know that LSU has a great baseball history.

Also, UGA made world history one spring in mass streaking. 2,000 naked students jogged over that bridge by Sanford Stadium and the campus went nude, forcing the school to call off classes for a few days.

Did anyone watch Justify win The Triple Crown at The Belmont Stakes yesterday? My wife and l were at a Belmont Party where we watched it. What an awesome horse.

Buz, watching it and mesmerized at the power of that horse. Led from beginning to end and it didn't look like any of the other horses were trying - he was that good at making it look effortless. A wonder to see.
After 40+ years of Capitals franchise history -- they won the Stanley Cup tonight. All of Washington D.C. is out on the streets celebrating. Just more than we could have hoped........you get used to not counting anything as REALLY being possible. I know Gill is just as thrilled. I need a tailgater please. It is time for real celebration. Go Caps!
Tonya, I KNEW June 7th was a particularly special day - how could it not be? Happy Birthday, pretty one,

I'm jealous. My youngest son brought home tickets to the hockey game tonight. He and my better half are attending the game. I'm watching at home with my middle son. It's a good night so far. Three-zero for the Caps and into the second period.

I'll take a Jen's Jolter. I need to stay up so I can pick them up at the subway when the game is over. It's actually feeling pretty good in the DC area for a change. Winning hockey beats politics any day!

I'm in a good mood so I'll buy a round of drinks for all. With lost of cocktail umbrellas of course.

Oh Gill - wasn't it the BEST! I am so glad your better half and son got tickets. What a wild, wild, insane number of people in D.C. tonight - all in red.
What a score....had to make us nervous when it was they scored that 2nd point - but 6-2 is a very hefty and decisive score.
Thanks for the drink and I will save the umbrella for you.
Haley was absolutely right on you being a horseperson - and of course, you would only notice the noseband. Horniest and sexiest North Carolina horseman there ever was. Yep.

Today is your birthday too you know - I have been out of town and just got back.

And a special birthday kiss:

I know, I know I am late - but this is an extra special Congratulations AND Happy Birthday Lady M.

I’ll take some of that coffee. I’m gonna be up late scribbling tonight.

Here is to a long night under the computer screens glow.

I am so pleased you feel you can come back when life allows. I would miss you and Simmie and hope you both write. Sorry about the sad year but I am more than thrilled with your happiness together.

I don't think I can handle the coffee this late, but would love some chamomile tea, please.

, but it definitely takes a back seat to hockey for a lot of us until June when the Stanley Cup is done.

Hi everyone that is watching hockey . The Capitals and Tampa Bay Lightening have started play a few minutes ago that will tell us if the Capitals are done for the season or might have one more chance. Maybe a Tailgater would lessen the tension - one please barkeep.

Being a Washington Capitals fan for over 30 years might just be paying off. We made it past the second round and beat the Penguins. No offense to Pittsburgh but you don't need another Stanley Cup.

It's a beautiful sunny warm day here and life is manageable for now. I'll take a Hannah with as many umbrellas as you can fit into in to celebrate the Caps win and I will pay for everyone's drinks tonight.

Cheers Everyone!

Such a smile on my face. What hard work we had to get them here. Now we don't want to stop pushing and leaving magical mojo for them to use to grab that Cup. There ought to be a special award for D.C. sports fans. Redskins, Capitals, Wizards, and Nationals. We have a heavy load - but I will cheer every single game. Gill if you ever get a call from one of the teams to come down and give them some spark and enthusiasm - send me pictures.

Since I missed your generous offer of a drink I'll have Rump put a cold beer on your tab and I will be happy to pay you back when we go all the way.
