TGIF the official start of the last weekend in April ... can it be? This year is moving as fast as the severe weather that is still plaguing the Midwest. Tornados; high winds and heavy rain moved thru Oklahoma Kansas and Missouri last night.

Kansas City Metro: Experienced severe thunderstorms, with tornado warnings issued for Clay and Jackson counties around 9 p.m. Thursday. Damaging, high winds and large, quarter-sized hail were reported.

Only one fatality and a freak one in Northeast Johnson County (Merriam)

One person died in a single-vehicle, fatal crash on southbound I-35 near Antioch Road in Merriam, Kansas, late Thursday night, April 23, 2026. The crash involved a downed overhead road sign and caused a shutdown of southbound lanes, with traffic diverted to I-635. 

And our friends in Oklahoma also had a active night too.

Severe storms, confirmed tornadoes cause damage south of Kansas City in Clinton Missouri. We also had confirmed LARGE size hail

Cities affected are still looking for injuries and damage accessment so far no confirmed dead.

Today is a clear & calm day for storm damage repairs with MORE storms roll back in late Friday.

I know I'll be calming our animals after last night.

The next three days we will continue to be under weather warnings.
