As I sat here playing music my ancient lion mind went to a thought. So I picked up paper and wrote my thoughts and feelings on this Easter Sunday. Here goes
βοΈ
April 14th 1781
Williamsburg Virginia
7yr old James lit one candle sitting in his family root cellar.
April 7th 1917
Arras France
18yr pvt. James lit one candle in his trench facing the German trenches.
April 8th 1944
Arromanches-les-Bains
France.
11yr old Geneviève lit one candle in her bomb shelter as aeroplanes flew overhead
Three different eras, three different candles. Each one lit on the evening before Easter Sunday.
Each flickling flame fought back the darkness of war.
Amd each one of their flames won.
"All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle."
Higher this is a unofficial song being played during jump school at Fort Bragg with the 82nd Airborne

In great news and on this holy day
U.S. special forces rescued the second crew member of the F-15 fighter jet that was shot down over Iran, three U.S. officials tell Axios.
Why it matters: The shootdown was a nightmare scenario for the U.S. military, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also racing to locate the missing U.S. officer in southwest Iran over the past 36 hours. Both crew members have now been rescued.
Hopefully you enjoyed touring Sainte-'Mère-Eglise and Colleville-sur-Mer, the solemn site holds 9,388 graves of U.S. soldiers overlooks Omaha Beach.

NASA mission to the moon 2026
NASA's Artemis II mission is a historic 10-day crewed lunar flyby scheduled to launch no earlier than April 2026, marking the first human trip to the Moon in over 50 years. The mission will test the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft for future lunar landings.
Crew:
NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch,
and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen.
Multiple 1st on this flight including a Canadian and the pilot is the first African American. Yes I'm quite proud at this historical moment
Before I leave today, I would like to "beat our drum" about a long journey here in Kansas City.
Rock Island Bridge between KCK & West Bottoms (Kansas City Missouri) opens April 1
A long journey opens today and its NOT April Fools.
π
A repurpose of the 100+ year old cattle bridge that connected Kansas City Kansas and Kansas City Missouri over the Kansas River has been turned into our next entertainment venue.
Don't forget our poll closes this Friday morning y'all
I say vote Eary and Often
π
The British newspaper The Times of 27 August 1859 printed a letter about the use of the ballot for voting in the United States, written by Richard Henry Dana Jr. to his friend Lord Radstock. In the letter, Dana reports:[6]
"Our experience has shown us that in the excitement of great popular elections, deciding the policy of the country, and its vast patronage, frauds will be committed, if a chance is given for them. If these frauds are allowed, the result is not only that the popular will may be defeated, and the result falsified, but that the worst side will prevail. The side which has the greater number of dishonest men will poll the most votes. The war cry, "Vote early and vote often!" and the familiar problem, "how to cast the greatest number of votes with the smallest number of voters", indicate the direction in which the dangers lie."
I choose 6 because I met my good friend Bear that many years ago. I chose 6 because I started reading many of the authors I have grown to appreciate their craft. I chose 6 because I found friends here and a place called Rump's that became my hangout - although, I am usually quietly sitting in a booth unless someone or something made me giggle... β€οΈβ€οΈπ
Beachgirl1959 we thank you for not only your vote of 6 with your usual quiet demeanor. Your vote opens this ancient lion's heart with your reasons a tune you shall recieve
I'm sure our BearKeep will smile teading your vote of 6
I know it's early, even in the UK, and I am British, but am I the only person here who doesn't know what I am voting for in the 6, or 15, number poll? Alright, I give in; I voted 6 because I like the shape of the number. ππ
Coffee, please... as it comes, thank you. ππ
Ah, British are ye Sir shall you take on this Irish task? Be it 6 or 15 one looks inward for their answer. This ancient lion shall start Big Beautiful Bertha for you as I record your vote of 6
