Hello fellow Rumplators,
Tonya, sorry to hear about your s/o, hoping the surgery went well. My family has been struggling with medical issues as well and I've seen the toll it takes. Hang in there. By all accounts, you're a tough cookie.
Hannah, you must tell me about the drink named after you. I've been here a month now and still haven't figured it out what is in a Virgin Hannah. Also, South Americans, huh? Is it the Brazilian bad boy thing, an athletic thing, their natural ability to dance, or all of the above? My wife has a thing for them as well, having dated several in college. I won her over in the end (a white boy who struggles to dance and is terrible at soccer). Must be my muscles and brains, got those going for me at least.
Scott, I really need to start following Canadian politics better. I don't want to get too political as I'm sure everyone has their own opinions and don't want to start any arguments, but my family is really upset with the US government and our state politicians right now. It's a major reason I'm looking for work in Canada and Europe in 2019. I know the rest of the world has their own sets of problems, but we really need a change of scenery from our backward, corrupt home state.
Laura, maybe we ought to move to NZ and have you show us around. One of the most beautiful countries and I dig Taika Waititi's humor and the Maori culture in general.
Rump, I could use a scotch on the rocks. Thanks, good man, we appreciate your service, cantankerous or otherwise.
Hey everyone, hope you all are having a good Friday.
It's been a bit since I've stopped by, and I could use a whisky. The son is doing much better now after being sick for nearly a week and having his first asthma attack (which scared the shit out of me and his mom).
Got a major work presentation coming up next week so I might not be around too much. I'm really looking forward to checking out the entries for the poetry comp. Best of luck to all!
Hello fellow pervy patrons,
I could use a celebratory whisky, Rump. I got a small promotion at work, and as such, I've been quite busy this week. I'm feeling pretty pleased, but I've not had much time to work on the comp poem. We'll see if inspiration strikes over the weekend. I look forward to checking out all the entries as well.
Good evening all, we are finally having some warm weather and drying out. Hope everyone is well.
My son is getting his big boy bed this week and is quite excited. In regards to Jeff and Ping's stories, I can't wait to teach him checkers and chess. Right now, I have to settle for Candyland, which is a bullshit game by the way, because there is no skill involved. It's just random chance.
Still turning my wheels trying to come up with something for the comp.
Jeff, I agree the eliottlacey's latest is quite good. I don't know how the poets on here consistently deliver. I feel like I need a certain level inspiration for writing poetry that I don't need when writing prose.
Tonya, you post your comp entry yet? Or are you still fiddling with the editing?
Sara, thanks for the cupcakes.
Beer me please.
Tonya, glad to hear your poem is coming along nicely. I've been meaning to check out your work for awhile and may get to do so later today.
Rump, thanks for plugging my story. As it's my first one, I'm pretty excited to have finally finished it. It's a long one, but I'm glad I left it intact (I debated endlessly about splitting up). As it stands, it's complete and I don't plan on returning to those characters any time soon.
Lilly, it's nice to meet you. I'm Kal, the new guy around these parts. Your margarita comment yesterday left me craving one, or maybe I'm just craving some warm weather and Mexican food. Who knows?
Jeff, thanks for the drink checking out my poem. After reading Serious Moonlight, I'm still impressed with your ability to tell stories in such a natural way. I feel like I spend too many words on exposition, details, and setting. I agree that tentacles would have spiced things up a bit in Coastline, but there's always the upcoming contest.
I'll have a margarita on the rocks.
And Zagitova wins the gold. I'm so sad, I really felt like Medvedeva bested her.
Kings of Leon - Come Around Sundown (the entire album)
Just saw Black Panther. If you're a fan of comic book movies or Marvel, I highly recommend it. Definitely lives up to the hype.
Jesus, this horrifying, but I can't stop looking. I can't believe I've never seen these before.
Reading stories, browsing the forums, and sharing my own work.
It's a nice to escape from reality for a bit.
Vibrations rocked her
as she sat on the dryer
toying with her sex.
Greetings fellow patrons of Rump's grimy, gin gulag.
Hope everyone is having a great day. Having some pretty gnarly freezing rain here at the moment so University classes were canceled, meaning I got to sleep in instead of giving an exam. It's a double edged sword. While I appreciated the extra sleep, I will now have to play catch up next week.
Hope the Olympic watchers here got to catch the hockey game last night. I'm not normally a big hockey watcher, but that ending was absolutely thrilling. USA USA! (Sorry Scott).
Rump, I agree with your proposed overtime rules for football. Give the kickers more to do!
Tonya, how's your poem coming? I look forward to reading it.
Jeff, glad you're feeling better. I wish I could get into baseball. Love the games as a social event, but I've yet to pick up on the intricacies that make it exciting over the course of the season. That said, beer at the bar + extra innings = a great time.
I'll try one of them 7 B's.
Scott, congrats on the Men's hockey win. You make some really good points with the figure skating I hadn't thought about. I should probably look into the scoring system (cause I don't understand it). I really liked the Italian duo the other night and I think they only finished 6th.
Jeff, Captain Tripps, huh? I might have to keep my distance. Would it be too cliche to use tentacle sex as a theme for the erotic poetry contest? It seems quite en vogue at the moment.
Sara, things are going pretty well at the moment. Words are coming along nicely (but I keep editing and re-editing) which is slowing things down.
We enrolled our son in pre-K yesterday. That was surreal. His mom is ready to go back to work though.
I'll take a cup of Bertha's with a shot of Bailey's.
Greetings all,
Scott, I have temporarily defected from the US after the witnessing the legend of Virtue/Moir last night and will probably remain Team Canada until our women smash your women tonight (no innuendo intended). How can you not root for them? The french couple was incredibly smug, and the Shib sibs creep me right out.
Rump, I'll have a crown and coke (that's Canadian right?)
Verbal, hope you and your family feel better soon. It's all doom and gloom and freezing rain where I'm at. I'd trade it for some nice snow any day.
Erotic poetry contest coming up? I think I'll give it a go. Just need an idea now.
I'm pretty new on the site, but for what's it's worth, I think you are a great writer, Kind of Heart. I checked out the story and the poem you linked and really liked both, but I especially enjoyed Blood of the Lamb. I've followed you as well.
All the best,
Kal
Greetings one and all.
Rump, I'll take a cup of Bertha's best. The wife and son are feeling much better today so I've got a few hours to kill. I'm hoping to get some writing done. I've got two stories in progress. A shorter one (~4K) that I'm hoping to finish in the next couple days and a behemoth currently sitting at 7K. Will likely split the latter into 2 parts.
Tonya, in addition to the Maxalt Gil suggested, you might also look into Sumatriptan (brand name Imitrex). My wife has had migraines that coincide with certain phases of her menstrual cycle since she was a teenager. This is the first medication that has worked well for her in 15 years. It can be very expensive depending on your insurance, but it is totally worth it. She takes it right as she feels it coming on and it completely knocks it out.
Gil, thanks for reading and commenting on my poem. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I may have some cocktail umbrellas lying somewhere around here for you.
Scott, that's pretty cool. I was joking but it sounds like you nearly crossed paths.
One of my faves, can't remember where I originally saw it posted:
I had a threesome,
me, my wife, her depression,
Depression fucks hard.
Hello, fellow Lushes...Lushies? New blood here. I wanted to stop by to introduce myself and say hi. I've really been enjoying the site so far and I'm impressed with how many talented writers are active here. As a researcher, I've got a bit of technical writing experience under my belt. Since I joined, I've really been enjoying a break from my jargon-laden world as I branch out into more exotic and unfamiliar territory.
You all seem like good peeps. I look forward to continue reading your work while sharing some more of my own. Oh, and I'll have a Kentucky Bourbon. Neat.
Cheers,
Kal
