Yesterday it got 4 reads, a like, and a favorite. It popped up on the banner late afternoon California time. It's gone this morning. Who knows how or why, but a little is better than naught, I suppose.

No, but being read does and if you skirt down the list in a blink, eyes don't see you. It's no matter. I've never been that popular anyway. The mix on the Trend thing just seemed odd with so many old pieces (six out of ten right now) reappearing and staying on so long, when there are newer stories that go poof quickly.

I got three likes and two comments yesterday, but no banner spot. A story from 2022 did get added. I've had old pieces get recent likes and comments, some with several, for whatever reason. None have ever been seen as "Trending."
And some seem to be glued in place. Verity_100's cute "Husband Asked For Role Play" from 2021 was recently on for more than a week. She hasn't written anything since that year and I don't think she's even been on site at all this year.
I have to add that I am in no way disparaging the works cited. They most certainly deserve the reads and praise they have received.
My question is do they really need further promotion now, at the expense of those trying to bring new work to the category?
Is this how it is supposed to work?
I have a story up. It is around 45 likes/300 reads, pretty much my usual. It showed up, on and off, in the Trending banner the first day. Then for an hour or so on the second. It's gone today.
I understand the big kids lately posted with a 1000+ reads already (really?) being top of the heap, but right now the last five offered are;
"Trick or Treat" from Comp October 2023
"Dirty Whore Who Just Wants More" from Comp October 2023
"You're Home Early" from September 2023
"On My Tongue" from February 2023
"Using the Husband" from January 2023
It seems you have some algorithm in place that promotes old stuff at the expense of new things that will rapidly slide away into oblivion despite the quality of writing offered. Not everything can be measured in metrics. Lush is suffering for it. Not all of us can be the Lush Prom Queens, but we should not be relegated to the bench as punishment. Please understand, I am not speaking for myself alone -- while I have an understandable interest here, I gave up this particular dance quite a while ago. I have only used my story as a ready example.

Some time back, I was seriously advised to write more, say less, and make sure someone spurts in the end (or elsewhere, I suppose).
I didn't take it to heart, so I've no one to blame, but myself.

As far as I've been told, it didn't make it into Lush2. It was a nice thing to know, even if you flirt about in the low thousands instead of the millions.

I have the cover, title, and ending. 🙄 The gist is a woman buys an old house the antique mirrors hanging in every room. When she first looks in one, she sees herself in a better light. Her lips look fuller. Hair shinier, styled. Then a man appears behind her in one reflection. Kisses her neck. She sees another man in another mirror behind her reflection. More happens. Her desires grow with each man in each mirror as new sexual kinks are revealed. She doesn’t realize her real self is fading as her reflection grows bolder and brighter, playing with men, losing all inhibitions. The ending is eerie.

I am sorry I wasn't clear. The comment (image one) and the like (image two) are completely unrelated to each other and made by separate people. The comment "What a great pic" was given to a forum post only. It had nothing to do with the media picture shown in the second image and should not be there. That is the error. If I close and reopen the media image, it disappears.

1. Click message of a post comment, forum or group
2. Click message of an unrelated image "like" by someone else
It happens every time, but only in this order and only via Notifications
