As LadyX said, you have to also understand that theres more people that dont understand the BDSM lifestyle than they do.
Me for example i read stories here, read the forums and talk to people and i still cant completely understand why people want that lifestyle (No matter if you are a Dom or a sub), the diference is that i am used to reading about it and can understand that diferent people want diferent things in their sex life, but if you give this book to a person that know nothing or almost nothing about the lifestyle and are not open minded, its very easy for them to judge the lifestyle. In the book you have a guy that admits to want to hit a girl, if you dont understand that the girl also want to be hit its very easy to judge the situation as abuse toward woman. Even the girl in the book freaks out about it because she has no experience of it before.
If you ask me the book should be actually really good for people to understand more about the lifestyle in a good way.

Even though i LOVE mi Ipad2 i always see it like a grown up toy, if i had to choose between my macbook or my Ipad i would choose the Macbook ALWAYS, i know is not the same as a netbook, my point is you still cant do all the things you do on a comp on the Ipad.
btw Docs to Go its a great App for the ipad that has word, excel and all those, its not as good as the one for comps but its pretty good!

Im reading this books right now and i have to admit i know the basics of the BDSM lifestyle, i understand is not for everyone and defenetly NOT my thing, but while reading this books i started to wonder how much of this book really reflects this way of life and how much is just how the writter sees it. So i decided where else can i find this answers than with all the lushies that know about these very well.
Please dont take my questions as offensive its really not my intention, just take in concideration that this questions come from a person that trully dont understand this lifestyle.
- How much does the dominant person really trully enjoys the inflicting pain in others? in the books he really needs to do this.
- Is it a normal thing to have a BDSM relationship without feelings involve? In the book he cares about his subs, but he doesnt have any feelings for them.
- Do you think a lot of people enter this lifestyle because of a painfull background and this is the only way to cope with reality?
- What about the rules? he has some insane rules like never touching him unless ask to, or never seeing him in the eyes, never sleeping in the same bed... are this the normal rules?
- Do you live by this rules all the time? i mean you never have a break from them? you never can just talk to the other person like you do in a (i know normal shouldnt be the word i say but is the only one i can think of) normal relationship?
