Cold and damp, but we escaped the worst of the weather. Living in the shadow of the Pennine Chain, the hills tend to shelter my area from the worst of the bad weather, although it does get bad right up in the hills. The roads between the North-West and Yorkshire get blocked very easily by snow or heavy ice.
