A perfect summary of her talent Verbal!

She's incredibly modest, a lovely person and an amazing talent.

Congratulations on receiving another of our site's highest honours fuzzyb!
Our Mod of the Month for May award goes to someone who's no stranger to the award.

She's deservedly won it multiple times for her diligent work in the help desk, chat rooms and the forums in particular, and always makes herself available to help people out when she's around.

A huge thank you to TrinityX for all her effort around the site.

Happy shopping Trin!

This... this is incredible.

During our pride march this year, we walked hand in hand with complete strangers, and for just about 10 minutes, everyone was silent. We were all taking in the acceptance, and the love we all felt for each other - even if we didn't know one another. I don't understand why humans feel the need to make others feel unwelcome, or ashamed of their choices. My heart goes out to all those mentioned in the article, and to all those that weren't mentioned, in any article, ever. They just suffer the judging gaze of people everyday, without muttering a single word to anyone.

And what hurts me the most, is the fact that I saw people during our parade openly crying, and I saw people trying to hold back their tears. I cried. It's ok to cry. What's not ok is the fast that people are led to believe they need to hide their tears.

I would like to offer my company to anyone needing to talk. I mean... I know that I need someone to talk to. Everyone does. So please, please, do reach out. Even if it is just to share your own story about how your pride parade went, or about anything that has ever happened which has affected you, and you've never told anyone.

I love this.

I've gifted you a gold membership for brightening up my day.
Apologies for the belated birthday wishes. Busy weekend, and I really need to check these threads more often!

I have to say that Verbal's will take some beating for the giggle factor alone.

Very nice too Noll, hypnotic.

Mine is rather understated.

I think so. Would the Q represent queer and questioning? I’ve also seen LBGTQ+ for the others as listed in the chart I posted on the competition announcement thread. Q for sure. + under consideration?

I'm going with this option. It's what google are using and they're sure to have done their research!
Hi there,

In case you missed it, with June being "Pride Month" we decided to run a new competition with LGBTQ themes.

Full details are here: https://forum.lushstories.com/yaf_postst69804_Announcing-our-Pride-Story-Competition.aspx

If you belong to other social networks, forums, groups, sites where LGBTQ activities are discussed, or have your own blog, we'd love it if you'd (ahem!) help us promote the competition there. Please only do so if it's an appropriate place to do so.

Big thanks to Liz for putting together a banner for us.

Good luck to all those who enter!

Cheers,

Nicki x

P.S. Do you want to add a "Q" at the end of the forum title here?

Excellent Comp Theme!!!

I'm all over it like a cat with super natural, hallucinogenic rainbow powers.

You won ...
Hey there fellow barflies, I'm just popping in to let you know about the new competition.

With June being "Pride Month", we thought the timing would be perfect:

Click the pic for details

A big thank you to Rach (Sprite) who helped me out with setting this one up.

With June being "Pride Month", we decided it would be good timing to run a LGBTQ themed competition.

Details:

Pride Competition

On June 27, 1970, Chicago Gay Liberation organized the first gay pride parade, or rather, march. June was chosen to commemorate the Stonewall Riots of 1969. In the following years, many major cities followed suit.

Eventually, the parades become less of a remembrance and more of a celebration of the LGBTQ community, and the entire month of June became known as "Pride Month".

Competition Theme

The theme of this contest is based on "Pride", and we're looking for stories that feature Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer themes.

What does "Pride" mean to you? What kind of stories do you envision? Is it a chance to come out of the closet and celebrate? Are you a woman trapped in a man's body? Is it a first encounter by a curious man or woman with someone of the same sex? Is it overcoming the struggles of being 'different' - the fight to be accepted?

Be out, be loud, be queer, be proud and celebrate Pride!

Needless to say, this competition is open to writers of all sexual persuasions!

The word limit for this competition is 5,000 words.

Winner: $150
Second Place: $100
Third Place: $50

Does this mean that Lovable Cunt will happen or may be considered?

Something to ponder!

wait, is that a compliment or an insult...? *confused look* just in case... *giggles* smile

like to point out that regardless of what went down, Dany's legacy remains - the wheel was broken. Drogon's reaction wrecked me... so beautiful and sad. sad

I'm out of my depth here, but can you post naughty pics or is Rumple not allowing such enticements in his bar arena?

And I was adamant Ray Of Sunshine was for me.

Your name is John, not Ray.
Gav needs to fix this.

It shouldn't be in the "common platform code", but site specific.
Here are 2 that spring to mind immediately;

"The Wife", which I watched last night.

Glenn Close was excellent, and was awarded a Golden Globe for her performance.

Jonathan Pryce played his part well too.

The plot twist became apparent to me very early on. I think it was deliberately made fairly obvious so you were left questioning what on earth was going on in his mind for most of the movie.

"Henry and June" is one of my favourite movies, and is based on the lives of Henry Miller and Anaïs Nin. Deliciously sexy movie!

Add your recommendations!
The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover.

Helen Mirren at her finest.

Absolutely bonkers movie. Horrific in places.

Might I ask why you are using Windows? In forty years I have never used a GUI-based server and I've never dealt with the aggravations Microsoft clients contend with on a regular basis.

My husband runs a Windoze PC because there is software he requires which is not available on any other platform. He stopped allowing automatic updates many years ago.

My recommendation would be some form of BSD or one of the commercial Linuxes. I have personally had great success in the past with FreeBSD and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Gav?

When we set up the site, .net was all the rage. Unfortunately ... you know the rest.
Thank you everybody for the well wishes and participation.

I’m delighted Roger won. He epitomises the spirit in which the site was created in many ways. His stories have come on in leaps and bounds since he arrived, and he’s incredibly supportive of others.
With our mobile site gaining popularity, there was a need to put in place a mobile specific moderator team to keep an eye on the place.

Bluestars shone like a beacon, and has been good enough to help us out with the cause.

She's our very first mobile site mod, an absolute delight and has taken to the task like a fish to water.

A huge thank you to Bluestars for going above and beyond in your first few months here. You've been a star

Happy shopping!

For processing close to 100 stories in March during a busy time for us, I am delighted to give the Moderator of the Month Award for March, to the ever willing and lovely Lauradj.

If you haven't checked out her 50+ stories, I urge you to sample her collection. You won't regret it!

Thank you for all your hard work Laura
Gav is trying to get to the bottom of the downtime.

He thinks it's a Windows server update causing the problem, and trying to come up with a workaround.

Don't you just love these "updates"? Seems they cause more issues than they fix most of the time.

Apologies folks. I hate the site being down more than anyone.
