Can you copy and paste the story to a plain text program (like notepad) on your device, then copy and paste it from that?

Which device are you using?
I'd more often than not, take votes like that with a pinch of salt.

Someone might have pressed the wrong button. Someone may have been on the wrong end of an experience your wrote about, and voted accordingly. You might have made a comment to someone in the forums, messages or on a story, which rubbed someone up the wrong way. Someone might have had a bad day, and voted a 1 on the first story they read, as a petty act of vengeance. Someone might not like chimp avatars.
Promoting lushstories.com (and yourself if you so wish) is the name of the game in this competition.

It is open to everyone to enter.

We are looking for the most interesting / funny / innovative / sexy / artistic "creation" you can muster.

Your entry must feature lush stories / lushstories.com in some form. An example:

A few ideas to get you thinking of possibilities:

A selfie, holding up a note with our site name on it (so we know it's you!), or with our web site in the background?

Our URL written on your body somehow?

A photoshop featuring our site name?

A drawing?

Short video (uploaded to YT) doing something whacky?

Details:

Entries to be posted / linked to in this thread. You can enter as many times as you like.

Deadline - 30 June, 2015.

Prize: $100, sent via paypal, or Amazon gift voucher.

The shortlisted Top 10 will be voted on by a panel of judges (made up of regular members and moderators).

The winner will be announced 7 July 2015.

Please do not post in this thread, if you are not submitting an entry. We want to keep it as easy as possible to see the entries.

Lawyers cost lots of money: Any entries containing celebrities or anything inappropriate for the site, will be deleted on sight.

Get creative!

Nicola
Having witnessed discrepancies between various word counting tools (even on here - one uses java something or other, and the other, whadjamacallit apparently ), it's probably safest to standardize and use the word counter in MS word (or Pages on Macs).

LS edit screen: 3,496 words

MS Word: 3,497 words

Wordcounter.net: 3497 words

Wordcounttool.com: 3.511 words (!)

Charactercountonline.com/ 3,508 words
Thanks for introducing yourself Joe.

Best of luck with your Erotic Thriller. It sounds intriguing!
I can't replicate this at all. I've asked Gav to take a look.

I am wondering if you've uploaded so many images there might be a soft limit of some kind (although you are on a gold unlimited uploads plan!).

i thought i implied all that in my answer.

Sometimes what isn't said, is as important, as what is.
Welcome back!

Firstly, Sprite is correct, one condition is you need to have 20 posts first.

Also, due to escalating server costs, we have restricted image uploading to our general image bucket, in the forums and on profiles (in your recent activity, when you upload an image to a friend's wall and so on), to paying members only I'm afraid.

It was being abused, and a dedicated image server we added only this year, is almost full already. Some people were uploading dozens of mb sized animated gifs per day. Multiply that by 300K members, and you can see how it becomes a problem quickly.

However, this does not affect your 50mb image allowance on your profile's image gallery.

You can therefore upload an image to your image gallery (making it private if you wish, which doesn't show it in your gallery either), then take the link to the image we give you on the image page itself (example below), and use that in the forums instead (using the greyed out mountain and red sun icon).

A directive has been passed, to reject any stories which are even a single word over the 3,500 word limit, so make them count!

Anyone who has written professionally, will understand why we're being so mean (it's for your own good!).
Our new "Money Talks" Story Competition aptly has the richest prize we've ever offered on lush stories, a whopping $250 goes to the winning author.

Money is often seen as a powerful aphrodisiac. It gives one power and influence.

They say it can't buy happiness or love, but it sure goes a long way to finding both!

Competition Theme

This competition is about cold hard cash, and what people will do to obtain it, by fair means or foul.

Stories must have money as a core plot element; hookers, gigolos, gold diggers, trophy wives, lap dancers, blackmail, high class escorts, strippers, exotic eyes-wide-shut style sex membership parties etc. are likely themes.

As an added challenge, stories for this competition should be 3,500 words or under (entries will be rejected if over).

Prizes:

Winner: $250
Second Place: $150
Third Place: $100

I have an answer back from our esteemed code monkey.

Unfortunately, most forum software available, is based on code written 10 years ago. It doesn't always behave nicely with our site (although for the cost, free, it's excellent).

Factoring in different timezones, the clocks going forwards and backwards at different times of the year etc, and you can see why it is tricky to get it right. 3 hours seems quite a bit out though, all the same.

We're probably going to be moving away from the forum format in the coming year, there are better ways to communicate more effectively.
There's another competition to be announced very soon, for the creative types amongst us. Stay tuned. No need to be an attention whore to win that one
How pretty are these little flowers on a garden wall?

I'm still on my iPhone for now (saving up!):

This needs a bump.

In this thread, we have posted a warning about posting personal photos (anywhere online). It's not rocket science taking a screenshot of an image, and putting it through a reverse image search to track down other instances of the photo elsewhere. It's impossible to stop people being able to do that.

We also warn people about giving out any personal details, here.

Please use your common sense when talking to anyone, anywhere on the internet, not just here.

We give you the tools to protect yourselves here, please use them.

Hmmm, I wonder if this would be a good time to stage a come-back tour?

Yay!

Whoops, just realized that I haven't posted in this thread yet.

I'm @AshleighLake

Hi Ashleigh, welcome to the site!
That's better Chirag. I'd love to visit Mumbai one day. It would be quite some experience, I'm sure.
Back by popular demand, is our Attention Whore Competition!

It's time to see who can "attention whore it up" the most, and get the highest number of unique profile views in the month of June.

$100 is at stake as the prize.

The rules are simple, the person with the most UNIQUE profile views in June, will win. The stats are recorded in our server logs, and only unique views count. Visiting your own profile 1 million times, will only increase your unique view count by 1, so don't waste your time!

Get creative promoting your profile, and have fun!

Concerned Moderator: "You remember we lost a couple of past winning members of this competition after they embarrassed themselves so much, they ended up deleting their accounts upon collecting their prize?"

Nicola: "Shoosh!"
