Over the weekend, I released my Elements writing comp entry.

This one is unlike any of my other stories. While it draws on similar themes as my previous stories, it is more structured and takes more of a psychological approach.

An artist is summoned to a secluded estate to create four portraits of the same subject, each inspired by a different element. With each sitting, a different side of the subject begins to emerge.

The story ultimately explores power, control, and the cost of being truly seen.

Good luck this week, Kimmi. I will have one of whatever you are having.

My competition entry is live. It is different from all of my previous stories. And spoiler alert, this is the first story I’ve published on Lush that doesn’t have a happy(ish) ending. Perhaps that means I am growing as an author? lol

Just dropped my comp entry. Went big with this one. Alchemy. And not iron-to-gold. Personal transformation based on exposure to earth, water, air, and fire. I think this is the most time and energy I’ve put into a story. Lots of research too. I am a little nervous about how this one will be received, as it unlike anything I’ve written. It reads like my voice. It just is not full of gratuitous sex, like most of my stuff. Granted, that alone may appeal to some folks. lol

Taylor is an insanely amazing song writer, regardless of whether you enjoy her music or not. And he work ethic is off the charts!

Happy Friday, Rumps. Wrapping up Q2 strategic today. It’s been another long week. Looking froward to the weekend.

Grabbing a cup of anything with copious amounts of caffeine, and back to real life!

I have an Excel spreadsheet listing every story I have published here.

It covers the date published, title, and word count. So I have a running word count list. 😇😈

That is hilarious. I have a similar spreadsheet that that I maintain. I also track score, comments, and likes. I update it every 2-3 weeks.

As far as what I am working on next… I just dropped my supernatural/vampire story so I can now focus on my elements story comp entry. I hope to wrap up my first draft this weekend and have something to publish in a week or two.

I released a new story this morning. This time, I am diving into the supernatural.

When a woman reconnects with the one person who ever truly challenged her, she expects nothing more than a night of conversation and nostalgia.

As the hours slip by, desire deepens, restraint frays, and the man she once knew begins to reveal a darkness she cannot explain and cannot resist.

In the end, she must decide whether to return to the life she built, or surrender to a night that was never meant to end.

The elements have inspired me! I submitted in water for comp, but have a wind story 3/4 done and am reworking another short one to be more about fire. Earth will be easy because I’m a nature girl. Thinking exhibitionism for that one with some perineum sunning. It’s a thing, Google it. biggrin

Overachiever. 🤣

Have fun in Paris, Bear!!

Slow(ish) day in the middle of another chaotic week. Hoping to chunk out an hour or two and make a dent in my comp story. I’ve been doing a ton of research and have a solid outline. Now I just need to bring it to life.

Giant coffee to-go, and I am out.

I had to do some Google searching about sexual fluidity for my story, too. 😊 But it’s fun to write different types of characters, isn’t it?

Same. Lots of time in Google over the past day.

It’s funny, ChatGPT has pretty much replaced Google for me. I open the app and just talk to it. I like the conversational feel.

This is the first story I’ve written where I’ve had to do some real research. And because of the AI swirl, I’ve gone old school with a browser. It feels archaic, but it’s getting the job done.

Morning, Rumpies wave

Temp dropped 50 degrees overnight! Crazy!

Same. It was 78 Saturday, 50 yesterday, and now it is a chilly 25 degrees. I will take a giant mug of the Happy Camper blend.

Finally submitted my attempt at a Vampire story last night. And I have an idea for the Elements story comp. It is a drastic departure from anything I’ve written thus far. I am excited!!

Have a great day, everyone!

I am stumbling through various ideas for the latest story comp. Lots of ideas, but they are feel bigger than the 3K word limit.

In the meantime, I am wrapping up a vampire story I’ve been working on for the past few weeks.

‘Evening, folks. Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

I have zero Irish in me, but I’d still love a pint of Guinness and a shot of Jameson.

I almost went straight for the Irish Car Bombs. But the last time I started an evening like that, I was hung over for two days! Lesson learned. Sip, go slow, and go to bed before midnight. 😊

And it's a Sunny-Day!

Well, at least it's Sunday, even if it's actually snowing up here in the Great White North!

Let's get some caffeine brewing, shall we?

Yes, we shall.

We got a foot overnight and are expecting another 6-12 inches today, coupled with 50-60 mph winds. And the funny thing is that we had bare grass yesterday at this time. Fortunately, it’ll be back in the 50’s next weekend, so it won’t last.

Grabbing a mug of Bertha’s Best and starting to put some ideas in paper for the new writing challenge. No idea where I am going yet. Perhaps being snowed in will inspire me.

Actually, I was asked to talk about Canada's position in the upcoming trade negotiations with the US and Mexico over the CUSMA deal, the war in Iran and how it might easily turn into a quagmire, the effects on the economy, and Artificial Intelligence.

Strangely, erotica didn't cum up – although I did suggest it to the host…

So, what I am hearing that you and I could sit at the bar and talk about economics (and potential impacts of AI) for hours! I studied economics as an undergrad.

Grabbing a to-go cup of coffee and heading into the office. Happy Hump Day everyone!!

<Edit> Big thank you to Lion for better coffee today. lol

Hi, Rumpies wave

Under a tornado watch in KY today. Yay! (sarcasm)

Well… crazy stuff for mirror twins. My thyroid scan revealed a suspicious nodule in exact place, opposite side, of my sisters, so now the fun begins for me.

On a good note, her surgery is over and she’s doing well. Ended up being a 5 hr surgery yesterday, more radical neck dissection, due to suspicious lymph nodes. Kudus to her surgeon for being skilled, diligent, proactive with what he was seeing.

Great big hugs to both you and your sister. You are both in my thoughts and prayers, Kimmi.

1st in to Rumps the HOTTEST bar in Lushland.

There are other bars in Lushland? Do they also double as coffee shops?

Busy day today – I've been invited on a local podcast, so that'll be interesting. It's been a while since I did an interview.

That’s exciting! What are you talking about? I am guessing it is NOT about writing erotica?

Okay, back to the grind. Wait! Folgers Fucking Dark Roast??? Seriously, Lion? You’re killing the resident coffee snob. Do I need bring my stash of Maui Omu and Bad Ass Coffee in?

Agreed, Bear. Time changes suck. Especially “springing forward”. Kicks my ass every damn year. Doesn’t help that I stayed up way too late reading. Sigh.

I get the pros and cons of daylight savings, especially in the fringes of the various time zones. But if someone decided to abolish the idea of daylight savings time, I would be just fine with that.

Coffee Bros Dark Roast And cream in a to-go cup, please, as I stumble out to start my day.

Those aren’t Kimmi’s buns. Bear. These are Kimmi’s buns! biggrin

Get ‘em while they’re hot!

Is that a photo from ‘Twins Gone Wild’ weekend, Kimmi? 😂

Morning, everyone! Grabbing a little coffee and getting ready for a market run. Pot roast in the slow cooker sounds good today.

I hope everyone has an amazing Saturday!

I dropped a new story yesterday.

A young woman brings her closest friends face-to-face with an unconventional relationship she’s been struggling to explain.

She wants to give them a sense of reassurance. She expects the meeting to ease their concerns. Instead, the situation grows more complicated as the night proceeds.

Curiosity eventually replaces politeness and the night moves in directions no one anticipated.

What unfolds an encounter that challenges comfort zones and quietly reshapes perspectives, revealing how quickly understanding can shift when seen up close.

Damn, I missed Trees! I love that song. Seriously. Great band. Arguably the best drummer EVER. And just a small part of an amazing catalog.

What’s a good movie on Netflix or Prime? I started Frankenstein, but abandoned it. Was disturbing to me. I need something good since it’s gonna rain for next week here.

Check out Sinners. I think it’s on Prime. I’ve got a feeling that it’s in your wheelhouse.

Happy Friday, Rumps! I am sooooooo ready for a weekend, it’s not even funny.

I just want to step inside, perch my ass on a barstool, order a cocktail, and wait for a man to come talk to me.

Welcome, Susan!

Morning, Rumpies wave

Was back to work for me yesterday. Boo hiss.

Welcome back, Kimmi!

Hope everyone is doing well. I’ve been MIA for a week or so. Work has been insane ever since I got back from the islands. The good news is that I finally finished my next story and submitted it for approval.

Grabbing a mug of the 454 Horse Power Coffee, adding splash of cream, taking a deep breath, and starting another full day of meetings. Fun.

Have a great day everyone!

Sounds like vintage 90’s porn. 😂

Happy Thursday, folks. Doing another quick fly-by for anything that has caffeine. Lots and lots of caffeine. ☕️

Welcome back Bear!

Just swinging by for a mid-day pick-me-up. Coffee, a splash of cream, and a to-go cup.

Have a great afternoon/evening, everyone!

Earlier this week, my latest story dropped.

In the middle of a crowded concert venue, a chance encounter between two strangers draws them into something unplanned. What follows is a fast-moving mix of impulse and opportunity that stretches boundaries before either of them can stop to question it.

This is a story about timing, chance, and how quickly a single night can veer off script. I hope you enjoy it!

The Summer Tour

Amid a sea of music, two strangers are drawn into a connection shaped by chance.

Outdoor

It’s been 100 days since I dropped chapter 1 of my first story on Lush.

Since then, I’ve published 11 additional stories. But there is something about your “First”.

Open Secrets is a five-part story. It is an intimate, psychologically driven exploration of desire, temptation, and the fragile boundaries that hold long-term relationships together. The story centers on a married man who believes his life is stable and predictable until an unexpected situation forces him to confront the parts of himself he has carefully kept hidden. What begins as a private indulgence spirals into a tense emotional and moral crossroads defined by loyalty, secrecy, and self-discovery.

Chapter 1 may feel familiar, echoing a cliché setup. That is by design. Keep reading, and the story deepens quickly, trading surface-level intrigue for escalating tension, emotional complexity, and characters who begin making choices that are anything but safe. If you are willing to move beyond the opening chapter you will find a narrative that grows sharper, riskier, and far more compelling with every chapter.

If you have not read the series, please check it out! And please share feedback in the comments.

He is a Brit. They have weird weather over there. 😁 We are hitting a warm spell (6C/42F by mid-week) but with the amount of snow we have on the ground, I will be be happy if I see grass. But we are getting some rain, too, so probably will get there by next weekend.

We’ve been lucky this year. Most of the snow has gone north or south of us. I think we’ve gotten maybe 18-20 inches, which is significantly less than most years. And with the warmer weather in December, a lot of that melted. We’ve got bare grass in half of our yard right now.

Just looked at my weather app. What was looking like 3 inches of snow next weekend now looks closer to 8-10 inches. Fingers crossed they are wrong. I was really hoping for an early spring!

Yesterday, I cut the lawn for the first time in 2026. Today, we are back to rain!

Cutting your lawn? In February?

We’ve been in the 50’s for the past two days. Looks like two more days in the 50’s, followed by a few days in the mid-40’s with some rain. Whatever snow/ice we have on the ground will likely be gone by mid-week, which is unheard of for mid-February. Granted, there is a chance of several inches snow next weekend. So weird.

Wow. This has to be the quietest bar on the planet.

Well, maybe the smell of coffee will bring in some life. I have washed up old Bertha and refilled her with some dark roast Nicaraguan coffee.

Is that coffee I smell? Thanks, for opening up, Ape!

I hope everyone had a pleasant Valentine’s Day.

Oddly, I’ve been pretty oblivious to the Olympics this year. I’ve been watching some of the highlights online, but have not actually sat down and watched anything yet.
