Slipping in for a cup of tea, thanks so much for the set up Miss Curvy! Skipping the goodies here in lieu of the delightful cookies my girl brought down with her. She arrived yesterday, making me a happy mama! The rest of the hoard doesn't arrive until tomorrow, so we get an entire extra day with just her.

Ugh! Tonya, what a terrible scissor debacle! At least bangs will grow, but honestly, what was your MIL thinking? I'm just glad no one was injured.

It would seem that I need to join that colorful site, as more and more of my friends have items posted there. LOL

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!!
Good morning all y’all! Busy weekend getting ready for the relative invasion this week, which starts today with my youngest.

Good news about your dad Jeff. Saying prayers still.

Made a few more batches of those cookies I described a while back. So I brought some in. Just be warned, what goes in green may come out green.

Hope it’s a good Monday! Thanks for always having tea ready (as well as an ear and a shoulder).

Hugs, my friend, love never leaves it is always there for you. The memories will always be with you and guide you.

Well a brutal day in Sydney, it is hard to give you a sense of this. The fires in Australia are for instance so I am told 15 times the size of those in California last year. The mega fire 60 kms north of Sydney as been burning since 26 October. Looking up in the sky tonight the sun is a orange orb, the sky foggy with smoke. The Hunter wine region will not pick in two months time the smoke has so damaged the fruit. Many of the roads out of Sydney are closed, Christmas summer holiday plans in in question. But the next week is better, temperatures drop into the high 20's.

In a change of pace, competition stories. Well I have read a few now, and they are excellent, especially from our barflies. Love them all particularly Susie, Tam, Seeker, and Techgoddess. I will get to Alyx's story shortly. Can I also recommend my friends Brookell, Anna and farmerroger for your consideration. And I am so looking forward to more entries, in particular Vanessa and Ping, I have you two in mind.

And thank you for the lovely comments on my story, a little bit different from me, but I really love that it is loved.

Hugs for you Annie! I was in Sydney just about a year ago, and it hurts my heart to hear of such brutal destruction there! Prayers that the can manage to control the fires before too much more damage is done.

Thanks for giving my comp story a nod! I really enjoyed yours as well. All that I have read so far have been very entertaining! I have more to read today. (Would it be too shameful to ask those of you who haven't read mine yet to do so? The link is in my signature...thanks!!).

Some tea for me before I call my daughter for our morning relaxation breathing exercises. Her BP was very high yesterday. Sigh! 7 more weeks til our little bundle of joy is born.

Have a great Saturday, all y'all!
Got my flu shot in Oct., had to submit a claim for reimbursement (never had to do that before, but ok).

Never got the reimbursement. Called and was told oh, it got held up somehow. Was promised it would be submitted for payment. Got a call back, oh no, it was rejected. Rejected? Why was I never informed? Oh, the rejection is in your online account. (Nope it sure isn't, but ok).

Why was it rejected? Oh, you need a diagnosis.

(WTF? )

Its a flu shot, I said, there is no diagnosis. It's preventative.

Well, in order to be processed you need a diagnostic code. If you get the code, you can resubmit the claim.

Resubmit? Can't I just go to the CVS where I got the shot and get the code and call you back?

No ma'am, you need to resubmit. Merry Christmas!

It took every ounce of energy not to say, Fuck You!

Good Morning All

Today has a deeper meaning to me than most. From time to time I see a posted thread here in Lush Would you meet another Lushie in the Real World. Well I feel very blessed to count myself one of the luckiest.
I met Ravenpearl a wee bit over 7 years ago here (and also Blue site) She came into my troubled life at a special time and truly saved me from myself and my dark demons. After chatting nack and forth she took the "leap" and moved across the country and we became a couple here in Oz. The reason for my pratting on is today she passed away at 12:05pm two years ago today. I miss her and I know she is watching over me daily, and yes I must tire her still with my antics
I miss you Ravenpearl I love you Ravenpearl You are in my thoughts daily Ravenpearl You calm me Ravenpearl;

It's never easy to lose someone, but it seems that right before Christmas is even tougher for most.

Sending you many hugs!
All that's left is wrapping and we are ready for the invasion of the relatives! I'm SO happy!! Invasion starts Monday!!

Lots of great stories in Winter Wonderland Comp! I am really enjoying how differently everyone has approached the theme.

Hubby is home for 17 days....without working....unheard of! So that's the best Christmas present I could get!

Tea please and thanks so much!!

Hi All!

I sense here the collective stress lift as Xmas approaches. Pass on the Fuzzy Donuts. Super hard pass if they are Fuzzy donut holes. Tim’s Bits, as we call them up here.

I found your hacker, T-God. See Rage Cage for contact info.

In final editing of my competition story. Will then read everyone’s entry. Hmmm... that sounds like something a psychic OBGYN would do.

Have A Good Day Everyone!

Thanks Ping! That made me laugh!

A glass of Moscato please. My husband is off work and home until Jan 6th I am not sure when the last I’m time was that we spent that much time together. Happy camper here!

Haunted by the night's dimming light,
and the phantom rose in shadow's row,
dawns the lantern of the yellow moon.

As petals drift by my window,
in splendor of the dimming light,
haunted by the phantom rose.

As wind among the garden,
blows no more, in silence,
as I lay you down to sleep.

Praying to the Lord your soul to keep,
as I feel your love comfort me,
haunted by the night's dimming light.

Eerie and delightful! ~~ Kat
HEY asshole, who hacked my Disney Plus account yesterday and fucked up all of my connected Disney accounts, thanks for wasting hours of my day yesterday! Jackass!
Good afternoon, everyone! Feeling clever that I fixed my connectivity issues today with an early gift from Santa. When you use the nickname TechGoddess, you really should be able to get onto the Internet and do so with decent speed.

Hope everyone is keeping warm where it's cold and cool where it's hot. My day started at 40 degrees and is now up to 68. Still really windy. They say the high winds might cause them to cancel our town's Christmas Boat Parade. Or course, because this year I remembered to reserve us a spot at the local watering hole's outdoor patio instead of us having to watch from our front balcony and try to see between the houses across the street. Ah well.

I've been reading some amazing Winter Wonderland stories! If anyone here has written one that I haven't gotten to read yet, please let me know. Thanks to all who have read my story!! Much appreciated!

Not ready for a drink yet, but a cup of tea would be nice. Thanks!!

Cup of coffee, I'm rather sleepy today.. Daughters Rn graduation day yesterday.. and I woke up to this snow stuff.

Hope you are all doing well.

Congrats on your daughter's graduation, Scott.

I was going to complain about the temp being cold here today, since the wind is blowing like crazy (making 54 feel like 50), but in light of the snow you are getting I think I will "fermez la bouche!"

I am so sorry about your doggie, Al. I know you will miss her very much!

I will have a cup of tea while I try to catch my breath. Been busy all day and it's seriously cutting into my reading stories time. LOL!
Good morning all y’all. Apple cake sounds delicious! And thanks for the tea as always Ms. Curvy! Looks like I have several stories to read today. Hope everyone’s Tuesday is going well so far. This time of year can be exciting but also exhausting. One day a time...
Of course I saw Knives Out and LOVED it. Have you met me? Lol
Good morning all y’all. I’m in need of some hot chocolate (with those tiny marshmallows if there are any left). I left 76 degrees last night and woke up in 26 degrees. Brrrrr. Thank goodness this is a short visit. Hope everyone is staying warm today. I miss my beach!

Woohoo it's the weekend.. Freezing cold and probably going to snow so I'll stay in here and drink gin... Darling Rump, could I have a very large gin and tonic?

Hope everyone is working on their comp entries. Some great ones there already. If you haven't read it already, mine is in there too ?

Cheers everyone ?

Your story was outstanding, Susie! I’m about half way through reading the comp stories submitted so far and agree that there are some really great ones. I always enjoy how different the stories can be within the same theme.

I am heading back up to the cold north (Michigan) for a memorial tonight. Will also get to check in on my pregnant daughter. I’m packing my parka and my boots in case it snows. Short trip, but necessary.

Some tea would be lovely! Thanks, as always, Curvy!
Now, Carl, I told you that I put down the knife for the holidays! Besides, no one in this bar need ever worry about that knife behind my back.

A cloudy day on a FL beach sounds awesome. Me and Lilly are hunkering down in a small cozy ski town high up in the Colorado Rockies. 20 degrees and snowing. Looks like a great day for building a snowman ⛄️, eating snow cream, reading some good sexy stories, and cuddling. Happy Saturday y’all.

You and Lilly enjoy being cozy! I prefer sandcastles to snowmen these days. Just got a quick walk in on the beach with hubby. Now he’s off to Home Depot. Lol! That man can’t sit still to save his life!

I’ll have another cup of tea please and thank you!

Thank you T.G. for the hospitality. I’m sociable but not loud.
I’ll do exactly that and definitely keep the quiz in mind. Haha.

You’re very welcome! And don’t worry about that whole “behaving” nonsense. It is a bar after all. Lol!

Curvy, thanks for the set up as always. You are too kind! Hugs back to you and hugs for Grace and Sara and anyone else who’d appreciate one.

It looks like we might have a beach day weather wise. Yesterday was foggy and drizzly. Got my nephew and his girl down here, so it would be nice to have some sunshine. They leave early tomorrow to go back up north and I am trying to find a flight whose price I can live with to go up for my friend’s memorial.

Hope to catch up on reading the rest of the winter comp stories over the next few days. The ones I have read so far have been really good. Clever writing and hot sex always makes a great combination for a story. Thanks to those of you who’ve read my story, A Weekend at Sam’s. Just a fun winter romp with a twist (I can’t resist a good plot twist).

Enough rambling on my part, thanks for the tea and the company this morning! I’m off to walk the beach! Have a great Saturday everyone!!

Hi everyone. My name is Tony. Never been in here before but heard only nice things. Thought I’d check it out. Have a great night everyone.

Welcome, Tony! This is a friendly bunch here. Glad you came in to check things out. Sometimes it’s hopping with activity and other times it’s quiet. Scroll back a bunch if you want to get a glimpse of who all hangs out here and what everyone is up to. Later there will be a quiz! (Just playin’ ?)
Thanks for all the kind remarks, Fuzzy, Zona, and Artistman!

I have a friend named Adolph. His mother liked the name. Changed the spelling so people wouldn’t connect it with Adolf. It mostly worked. Of course once he got his PhD most of his close friends starting calling him Doc. He’s a very successful man and I believe people see him as such. So no, I don’t thing a name is a self-fulfilling prophecy. That being said, I’d never choose that name for my kid. Nor would I choose Damien, although as a teacher I’ve had some really lovely young Damiens in classes along the way. I actually just want my kids to be able to buy coffee mugs and keychains with their names on them without paying the fee to custom personalize these items. There are no mugs out there with my name on them. That always bugged me growing up! Lol!
Bless you, Curvy, for taking such good care of us here.

Hugs For you, Carl. Cancer does, indeed, suck. Time may help dull pain a bit, but it doesn’t heal it. I’ve got the ashes of a beautiful girl that never saw 20 sitting on my shelf in my office. A girl I loved as my own (my own children lovingly call me a kid collector) who battled on and off for 17 of her 19 years. Cancer has claimed friends, family (including my father), and it tried to claim me. So rage if you want to, Carl. Sometimes that healing leaves huge scars on our hearts that will never completely go away.

I'm off for a blood draw myself, so I’ll have to come back later for one of those delightful doughnuts. Although my scale this morning said, “dear God, woman, stop sampling the Christmas cookies!” But it’s the holiday season and the daily calls to talk my pregnant daughter off the proverbial ledge of anxiety have taken their toll.

Hugs to all!

I put the knife down for the holidays...does that count as festive?
Good morning all y'all! Just stopping in to drop off some delish holly cookies. (Think rice crispies treat, only with corn flakes, green food dye, and almond extract...I have to use imitation due to my food allergies..with 3 little cinnamon red hot candies to make them look festive).

It's been a crappy month in many ways, but I am working really hard to focus on all the bright spots. Hard to do when a lady who was near and dear to me passed away this morning. She was the mother of a dear friend back in Michigan. We've know each other for years and every time we would get together with her mom, she would read my tea leaves. Usually spot on too! My heart hurts for the loss of a dear lady and the hole her passing will leave in my friend's life (and ours too!). She was so good to my son when he was dealing with many health issues as a teen. She was so proud of how much he has grown and was excited to hear of his impending engagement.

I hope everyone is staying warm. We've had some unseasonably warmer weather this week, which is lovely for the parade of visitors we've had. December tends to be a busy month for folks to want to come to the beach. So excited that my middle and youngest will be spending the holidays with us. My oldest, of course, can't make it down with buying a house and the baby on the way. But we have our daily chats and, although her anxiety level is still not ideal, it's better.

A cup of tea with some lemon would hit the spot with a cookie I imagine.

Enjoy your upcoming respite, Scott!

Enjoy that littley's Christmas concert Tonya! Treasure every single moment!

Hugs to all of you, if I mention any by name I will forget someone and I don't want anyone's feelings to be hurt that I missed them!

I'm hoping for all who are ailing to be well, all who are sad to be cheered, and all who are lonely to feel loved!
