No fog here. It's been either sunny or overcast, but no fog. It is cooler than downstate, and part of that is being farther north, but part of it is due to the lakes.
Ooh, thanks, Bear, for restocking the Coke Zero. All the restaurants here in Mackinaw City only have Diet Pepsi and it’s just not as good. I like Pepsi Zero, so I don’t consider myself a cola snob. But the zero sugar versions taste much better than the diet versions.
It’s our last full day in Mackinaw City. Kevin is working from the condo this morning and I will take him to the dock after lunch. Tomorrow we will pop over to Cheboygan MI and hit the Walmart for groceries to take over to the island. Doud’s Market has a large selection but things are pricier on the island (understandably). So we will stock up on what we can ahead of time.
My childhood friend’s sister passed away and they didn’t know for a couple of days. When they hadn’t heard from her they did a wellness check and found her. My heart hurts a little since she is only five years older than me and she was always so nice to me. She had mental health issues and she avoided doctors even though she had high blood pressure. Sad that she died alone.
So, Mr. Lion is correct. You never know when the last breath will be.
On a happier note, my son is loving his new job. And I just made the last mortgage payment on his house since he is now a working man again. The things we do for our kids and grandkids.

Whoo hoo! The temp outside is supposed to hit 61 F this afternoon! (Although it's still 47 out right now). Hoping to play some mini-golf in town later today. It'll be nice to be able to spend some time outside (although yesterday we did go for a drive and hit a craft sale in Cheboygan).
I'm reading and modding this morning. Then, before lunch, I hope to put the finishing touches on Boardrooms & Boudoirs Part 10. This coming week, I plan to work on some of the stand-alone stories that have been languishing on my flash drive. I might even finish one! LOL.

Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and Lasang Salchow teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is ready to go.
Today we're using Loon Call Breakfast Blend coffee beans from Muskoka Coffee Roasters, particularly appropriate – given that it's cottage country time around these parts!
I've put out donuts.
Plus I've got some buttercream cuppycakes in Kat's honour for 500+ stories ("and the hits just keep on cummin'!"), 40,00 flames, and being Lush's all-time favourite author!
As well as one of the original barflies around this dump.

It’s another chilly day here in Mackinaw City. Currently 46F 🙀 but at least the sun is shining brightly this morning. And it’s the weekend! So we can go for a drive (too cold for the bike ride I had originally planned) after lunch and check out what’s new in Cheboygan.
It looks like things warm up a bit next week. Which will be nice because we will need to walk or bike everywhere once we go over to the island for two weeks starting Friday.
I hope y’all have some fun planned this weekend. Bear, enjoy your granddaughter’s visit. My oldest grandson is showing signs of being a moody teen at 11 and a 1/2. 🙀 So enjoy how lovely 8 year olds can be.

Dropped hubby off at the dock so he could go work on the island today. I’ve accomplished my domestic chores for the day (dishes and laundry) and am going to settle down and do some serious writing. Grace was chattering away in my head last night. She’s a little miffed that I haven’t been working on B&B lately.
We had a lot of outdoor plans this weekend but the temps up here don’t look like they will cooperate. The high today in Mackinaw City will be 53 degrees F. Meanwhile, it’s 80 back home.

As I hit the 500 story mark yesterday and nudged over the 40,000 flame 🔥 line on the same day, all drinks are on my tab for the holiday weekend! (Thanks to my friends here who are always so supportive!)
Now it’s time to get back to writing Mac and Grace’s story as well as a couple of stand alone stories I’ve had up my sleeve.
I THINK I’m getting better as far as the sinus issues are concerned. But it’s a slower go than I expected.
I think I have read all the comp stories from Rumpies, but if I have missed yours, spank me hard and let me know. 😉💋
After struggling to write while dealing with the sinus infection that seems to have taken up permanent residence in my head, I managed to write a 5,000 word story. And then promptly realized the limit was 4,000 words. 🙀
Somehow I managed to trim it down and still leave what I felt was a story worth sharing. I hope y’all agree.

I’m up earlier than I need to be too but apparently I’m a slacker compared to Lion, Bear, and Kimmi. Lol!
I have time with the littles today before I pick up the oldest grandchild from school. Hopefully the rain doesn’t cancel his baseball game tonight. It’s so rare we get to go to a game living in a different state and this one lined up perfectly.
The two and half year old is still a whirling dervish but he is also a world champion cuddler. Not much in between those two speeds. Lol.
The baby is doing her darnedest to keep up with her brother but she has some calmer speeds too.
My heart is so full this morning!

Good morning Rumpies!
After what seems like forever, I feel like I am actually recovering from the aggressive infection that has been taking up residence in my right sinus cavity for at least two years. The past week was a whirlwind of CT scans, testing, oral surgery and more antibiotics. Long story short, there was a very unhealthy relationship going on between the roots of my upper right back molar and my right sinus cavity. The tooth is now gone (along with the expensive crown that was on it) and the infection seems to be subsiding. Fingers crossed that this works. Otherwise it will be a PICC line of vancomycin when I return to Florida.
So, I’m back but I’m traveling. So I will still be a bit hit or miss but mostly hit. I did publish a comp story and now I can embark on reading the ones y’all have entered.
Time to close up my suitcase and hit the road. Two days with the grandkids - yay!
Just tea for me this morning. Heading back to the beach after a week of Disney fun.
I’m sure my cat will have plenty to say once I get home. 🐈⬛ 😾

Today’s Disney park is Hollywood Studios. Then we shall enjoy some pool time this afternoon and then head to Disney Springs tonight to see The Thunderbolts (Marvel movie). 🎥 🍿🥤should be a good day!
Tomorrow is Epcot and then Monday we head home.
Then I am home for about 2 weeks before it’s along on a work thing with Kevin. Never a dull moment.
Off to Magic Kingdom today with my niece and her hubby. Unfortunately my sister is staying back at least for the morning. Hoping she feels better later.
