Waiting to get in to see Craig Robinson and watching the roosters strutting and crowing along the streets in Ybor City - literally!

My Lions lost ☹️ so I need some laughter!

Quote by David_LeRoy
Truthfully it was a bit humbling to return to Lush after more than 5 years to find my old readership having moved on. It a good to see I'm able to earn some of that back

When I came back in 2019 after being away for about that same amount of time, I felt a little lost here. Most of my friends were gone, and I had to start over. YOU were one of the first people to encourage me and make me feel like it was worth the effort. I'm glad you are back and finding your way again. 😘

to techgoddess, I understand all of what you say, but I am prolific and get new story ideas every week. Consider that at this moment I have 40 5,000 word chapters all finished in draft form and am ready to start 5 new serials of 6 to 7 chapters each. At the rate of one submission every 3 weeks l will still be submitting the already finished chapters up until next spring. I'll be half a year older.

I'm assuming you want people to read what you've taken the time to write. If I could offer you some advice, you need to give your readers time to actually read and enjoy your stories. This will improve your number of views, likes, and comments.

As for your rate of submission, I'm confused as to what you mean by one submission every 3 weeks. Looking back over this year, you have averaged 3-4 stories per month. That's roughly 1 story per week.

I sometimes wonder what exactly mods review and if they really need to do more than assure that the site's decency stds. are met. If my grammar and proofreading are not reasonable, my stuff won't be liked. While I sometimes appreciate the editing advice, I am well beyond the age when I'm likely to become an expert grammarian.

Nobody expects authors here to be expert grammarians. If we didn't ask authors to make a reasonable effort with grammar and proofreading, it would make it difficult for us as mods to read and understand what is going on in the stories.

As a reader, if a story is riddled with punctuation errors, contains missed or misspelled words, or lacks clarity about who is speaking, etc., I'm not going to bother continuing to read it. I don't mind a few mistakes here and there, but when the errors start to affect my understanding and enjoyment of the story, I'll look for a different one.

As a writer, I want people to read and enjoy my stories, not skip over them.

Lush Stories has higher standards than some other sites, but with the modern tools of free, online grammar checkers, they aren't unreasonable.

Message from the haunted house. I am 67 and retired, living on a limited income in London. To pay a lot of money here would be difficult. At Literotica all submissions are free and I have published a few novellas of 60.000 words with no problems. So I'll go back there.

If you aren't happy here, then you should definitely not stay. But let me share this thought with you:

As a story mod, when I have suggested to authors to split their longer stories into smaller parts, they have (for the most part) seen an uptick in views, likes, and comments. Why? The average reader does not have time to read 60,000 words in one sitting. They prefer stories in the 2K to 4K range (What's your preferred story length to read?)

The average mod does not have the time to review 60,000 words in one sitting, either. So, if we allowed stories of that length, it would take LONGER to get them published.

I don't know about you, but I publish stories here because I want people to read them and share their thoughts about them with me. I try to keep in mind that if I publish a longer story, it might see less attention.

I could publish every 3 days too based on the approval time for my last story (again, I'm platinum). It's nothing about being a mod (love how you insinuate something scandalous is happening) and everything about being a gold or platinum member. And if they did get priority in the queue, so what? They are unpaid so why not give them something in return for the effort they put in. They are all excellent writers with a good history on the site so it's not like crap is getting a free pass or something.

Thanks for your comment! Your support is appreciated! When the queue gets busy, sometimes the wait times are longer, even for Platinum and Gold members. But we do our best! 😊

You can combine the two. Look how many "Help me, I'm stuck in the washer" videos there are. πŸ˜‹

Yeah, um, anyhow, good morning. It's Friday, Halloween, and game 6 of the World Series. Take any two.

Earl Grey and a bear claw.

And now you've given me a story idea...LOL! TGIF...Go Jays!

.

And Happy All-Hallows-Eve everybody! Better known as Hallowe'en.

Notice the apostrophe? That's technically correct, although hardly anyone ever does it any more. I'm just finicky that way.

Happy Halloween!

The terms Halloween and Hallowe'en both refer to the same holiday, but they have different spellings.

Halloween is the more commonly used spelling today, while Hallowe'en is a contraction of "All Hallows Even," which refers to the evening before All Hallows Day (All Saints' Day).

The apostrophe in Hallowe'en indicates the omission of letters, and this spelling is more prevalent outside the U.S.

Both forms are dictionary-accepted, but Halloween is the standard in most contexts.

In summary, you can use either spelling, but Halloween is generally preferred in modern usage.

But feel free to be finicky, Mr. Bear! After all, you are located outside the U.S. 😘 As long as you keep the caffeine flowing. I'll have an extra-large Coke Zero with the pellet ice, please! I've got some modding to do!

Hope all y'all are doing well on this Friday! I have to see the dentist this afternoon because my ENT doc now believes that the infection plaguing my sinus cavity is living in the area where I had the tooth extracted in May. The fun never ends.

My White Blood Count doubled since March...which is a scary prospect for someone who is a cancer survivor. But the Nurse Practitioner believes that the elevation is caused by my body still trying to fight the mysterious antibiotic-resistant infection. Sighs...The fun never ends.

I'll be in the corner modding stories...avoiding folding laundry. Erotica is more fun than house chores.

TGIF and Bearkeep? All drinks on me today. It's my favorite holiday!

As I work toward Double Omnium (Not a badge, just a fun way to challenge myself), I am contemplating how to address some of the categories that are out of my wheelhouse. Watersports don't typically appeal to me. But I've got a story idea bouncing around in my head that I think might translate into a tale worth telling. I'll keep you posted.

My recent story, Confessions Of The Redhead Brigade, was written for the Humor genre. If you've read a decent number of my stories, this should be a fun read. If not, I'm told it's still worth your time. 😘

Confessions Of The Redhead Brigade

What happens when the characters decide to get together in the author's head?

So I'm a bit under the weather – or is it the radar? – and stumble in to find … no one??

Geez Louise.

OK, caffeine comin' up - that'll bring people out of their stupors … I think.

Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and English Breakfast teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.

Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.

Today we're using Loon Call Breakfast Blend coffee beans from Muskoka Coffee Roasters, particularly appropriate don't you think?

I've put out donuts.

Plus I've got some of Kimmi's buns for y'all

Take care out there, 'K?

I finished editing the story and now I can't come up with a fucking title 🀣🀣.

Ooh, the title you picked was perfect! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜˜

You can never have too many redheads.😁🀘

Such a true and wise statement!

There are 6 redheads in my new story and several more mentioned by name. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜˜

Sometimes I write a sex scene and it inspires me to touch myself. And sometimes I touch myself and it inspires me to write a sex scene. But either way, it’s not arousing, why bother? πŸ˜‰

Nope, but I knew I was gonna marry him, so the risk was worth it for the first time. We were more careful after that.

Aww, thank you everyone. Please enjoy a slice of my birthday cake with your favorite beverage. So many kind wishes has made my day and oh, last night so much more enjoyable. πŸ˜‰ I am truly grateful. ❀️😎

Happy birthday 😘

Hiya, Rumpies wave

I’m adding to my collection of story art, complete with title and scribbled notes, that will sit in Google docs forever waiting for me to write the fucking story. I really like this one, though. It took a while to get her body the way I wanted. Think she’s hot. smile

She's delicious! πŸ˜‰

Creating a series? If it's on an existing story, find that story and click on "edit." For a new story, you're already at the right place.

Scroll down the page to the "Series" box and write the name of the series. Click on "create" the series when the option pops up, then hit publish.

If you need to reorder the series, go to your stories, choose the series option, and edit.

Have fun!

You've explained it in much simpler terms than I have done with writers here. Bless you! 😎

And now the top trender is a story from February 2024, with all the rest marching back in time to 2020.

I guess they're telling us we just aren't writing them like they used to.

It's not just the microfiction category, Kis. There seems to be something wonky with the trending algorithms in general. It's unlikely to be fixed any time soon, if at all. My advice is not to worry about trending. It's fleeting even on the best of days.

I tell authors all the time, focus on writing what makes you happy. The rest is just noise.

The story I was writing made me sad. So, I shelved it for the moment, and I'm writing something fun that I'm really enjoying. I hope to have it ready to share soon. And, yes, there will be redheads. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜˜

Opposite sides of the Atlantic but drinking the same tea. That's us. 😁

Good morning. Yorkshire tea and an Henri. (Made for the ladies, but I like him, too).

I feel like writing this weekend. Not sure what, yet, though I have a opening written for the reunion of Paris with her ex Adam. Yes, he might become her ex-ex. And if they break up again, he be her ex-ex-ex. πŸ€ͺ

Or maybe I will just write a story about a writer who goes mad when his stories go into infinite regression loops.🫨

Would that make it a triple X (XXX) story? πŸ˜‰

Oktoberfest was fun. We ran into a friend I haven't seen in a couple of years, so that was nice. Kevin enjoyed MANY beers. I enjoyed the music and the German food. And yes, I drove home. LOL.

I've been writing some deeper stuff lately, and the story I have been struggling with is making me sad. So I am currently writing something a little more lighthearted. I'm having fun, which is the purpose of writing, right?

I'd love a Coke Zero, please and thanks! Writing is thirsty work.

And yup, being me, I get serious anxiety when a mod locks my story and holds it to publish. I always spot a boo-boo as soon as it locks or second-guess it and panic I can’t delete/update it. It just started happening recently with queue full, but drives me more nuts than my usual self. 😜

Quote by David_LeRoy

I'm glad you are doing better Kat. Enjoy your Octoberfest.

Wild Oats p1 is in moderation and assigned to a moderator. Somehow that status unnerves me. One person locked it and went to bed. What happens if they get abducted by aliens? πŸ‘½ Then no one can put it on the front page?

Just FYI, you can always reach out to any story mod if you need to make a revision and the story says it's locked and can't be recalled. We can unlock the story for you - just don't forget to resubmit!

I promise not to get abducted by aliens if I lock a story. But we mods watch out for each other, so if I DO get abducted, y'all will still be fine! πŸ˜‰

Some Coke Zero this morning please and thank you! Over that pellet ice if we have any. (If not, I will be ordering a machine for that… I'm addicted the crunchy lil ice!)

Feeling better today. I gave myself permission to veg on the couch yesterday but today the doc’s instructions say to move around more. Not sure what that looks like since I can't do anything strenuous. But I'm sure I will figure it out. The beauty of being stationary yesterday was that I worked on several stories and made some progress. Two are coming along particularly well and one might actually see the light of day sometime in the near future. 😎 (one is a humorous piece and the other is another one of my more in-depth, make people feel shit kind of stories - LOL) .

I got the all clear to attend Oktoberfest in Tampa tonight. I won't be able to imbibe (on these meds), but I spy some yummy German food in my future! And watching the contests is always good fun (Stein carrying, log sawing, etc)

TGIF all y’all. ❀️

πŸ¦πŸ’™

Made it home last night in time to enjoy the second half of the Lions vs Bucs game. Y’all know I am happy to root for the Bucs except for when the play my beloved Lions. Baker Mayfield was throwing the ball too high last night. And the Lions’ defense was on fire.

Early workout this morning. Then I will be back to grab a corner where I can read, chat, and mod. πŸ˜˜πŸ’‹

Quote by David_LeRoy

I find it almost impossible to delete them. I have at times gone back and pulled a single line or paragraph from them to include in a different story but I keep it all.

Maybe it’s a little obsessive compulsive behavior but I just can’t bring myself to hit delete

I have at least a dozen or so stories that live on my flash drive. I can't bring myself to hit delete either. Once upon a time, The Office Whore was one of those stories, and look what happened there when I finally submitted it!

I always feel like there must be at least some part of the story that has redeemable qualities and may be useful in another story. OR I might finally figure out how I want a story to end and finish it. But DELETE is gone forever and if I spent time creating stuff on my laptop, I hate to just let it go completely.

You look lovely Kat. Congrats to you and your daughter.

Thank you! 😊😘

.

Say… isn't that the necklace that was swiped from the Louvre over the weekend??

Kat – are you a … Kat burglar??

If so, your secret is safe with us!

Besides, all you wanted was to look your best for the wedding!

Nice dress – and dΓ©colletage as well!

Kat burglar...cute! LOL!

But the theft at the Louvre came after the wedding, so I'm in the clear! The necklace came as a set with matching earrings and a bracelet from Amazon. It was meant as a nod to the style of diamond necklace my daughter wore. She LOVED that! (And I loved spending way less on my jewelry than I did on hers...LOL).
