Once upon a time, I started a series called The First Time Chronicles. Then I got busy writing other stories. As luck would have it, being sick this week gave me a little time to challenge myself to make part 4 different than my usual fare. I hope you will enjoy it! It stands well enough on its own. WW, I agree with you about taking all of Grammarly's suggestions. I use it mainly for comma use which I just can't seem to get 100%. I did get a notice from Grammarly that they were including some kind of AI component in their tool. Not interested in using it, I haven't looked for it and it might very well require an upgraded subscription.

I'm finding that QuillBot's free online grammar checker to be more accurate with punctuation than the paid version of Grammarly. There are other features of QuillBot that I'm not interested in using, but I have found it does a great job with commas, semicolons, and em dashes.

Yes, we are into storm season, after leaving winter. My younger brother lives in Tornado Alley, so I certainly empathize with those hurt yesterday.

At least with hurricanes, we have time to prepare. Tornadoes are quick and vicious.

As hurricane season draws near, we are in the process of making sure our emergency supplies are all replenished. Six cases of water went into the garage yesterday. Today I will change the batteries in the flashlights.

Correct, but the question PA_Mike had was would the stats still remain the same, (Likes, favorites, reads, etc), to which the answer is yes. I didn’t get the impression that he wanted his readers to reread the story. Just that he wanted to fix typos without losing his stats.

I am thrilled that after many years and a variety of comps to finally make the top three. Having read all of them, I can honestly say I was grateful to not have to be a judge! SO many great stories and different takes on the same theme.
