The Greatest Story Ever Told, It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas carol with Alastair Sim would be my favorite serious Christmas movies. For the more light hearted Christmas Vacation and the Home alone movies, as well as A Christmas Story.
There are just so many. I guess it would be whichever, from my list, that I happen to be watching at the time.
A friend called me to ask what was going on. They were at work and had heard something had happened, and I was at home getting ready for a doctors appointment. That night I received a call that my cousin was on United Airlines Flight 175. It was a shock that his parents never recovered from and they could not even watch the news as they would have to see their son die, over and over. This is just one reason why I will never forget, nor ever forgive.
The variety. If I am in the mood to read stories, I can. If I wish to interact with friends or others then that is available also. It has different things to do that can be tailored to my mood or needs at the time.

I dont know how to do a poll, so I will just ask the question here and read your responses below.....

How much money would someone have to offer you, for you to delete your Lush account and never come back?

$10 (Lush is not what it used to be and I just needed an excuse)
$1000 ( I could pay a few bills with this and no one would miss me anyway)
$10,000 (I could get out of debt and take a nice trip, so why not)
$100,000 (This would make a great addition to my retirement account)
$1,000,000 (I could think about not working and enjoy life a bit more fully)

No amount of money could get me to leave Lush.

Please....only serious responses only. There are plenty of other topics in the forums, where you can be glib or silly.
Thanks

I am here because I wish to be, and I started coming here to read the stories before I joined. As I have donated $20 to help fund the site, though I don't really get much benefit from the donation other than knowing I am helping and get a "cool badge", it would have to be more than $10. I am sufficiently well off that $1000 would not be much of an upgrade so let's say $5,000, as it would pay for my Christmas present and then some, as well as my wife's. another point is that I could delete my account and still read the stories. If that is not allowed I guess I could find another site that has stories written by regular people.

Music on YouTube. I spend time there every day.

I used to spend a lot of time on there. I would watch everything from football games, to music, to excerpts from TV shows. Now when I try, I have to reset router every 5-10 minutes, and I have no clue why. It kind of kills the enjoyment and the continuity of the whole thing.
I looked up an author last night. I am not sure how to answer the rest of the question because, like last night, I usually start with Google. I ended up with Wiki because I was just looking for general information.

Hell yes but let's not forget the spectacular guest appearance of Alison King

Two shows I couldn't stand that everyone else seemed to love: Friends and Seinfeld.

THERE IS A GOD!! You are the first person that has agreed with me on that show. Seinfeld was just 30 minutes of constant whining.

I guess that depends on if you’re a true Christian or a hypocritical Christian! I see nothing wrong with being on a site like Lush! I’m particular what I read here and I’ve stoped reading certain stories that I found offensive. I draw the line with what I’m comfortable with and take most of it at face value. 90% fiction people, relax and enjoy.

My question would be, what is a true Christian, and who decides? People, including Christians, are hypocritical in many areas of life. Not just this one. It also begs the question, does it make you a hypocrite if you encourage people not to do the things you either have done or currently do, or are you just trying to keep them from making the same mistakes or incorrect decisions that you have? How many parents have tried to keep their kids from doing some of the very things that they themselves have done/do? I guess that could be considered hypocritical, but I am not sure. I guess it is a question for another time.
Yes, in my opinion, you can. I am an ordained Elder in my denomination, and while I am certainly no Bible scholar, my understanding of the Bible leads me to believe this. Is it a sin? Probably as lusting is a sin and this place certainly causes that. Though you are more lusting after a fantasy, in most cases, than fact. The part that non-Christians get wrong the most is that they like to point out our shortcomings. All Christians sin, we have no more or less shortcomings than anyone else, and all sin is equal in the eyes of God. Therefore IF this is a sin it is no more or less sinful than anything else we do in life that would be considered a sin.

Yes it is possiable. I consider myself a Christian and I am here on lush. It begins with Your personal relationship with God. Not anyone else's. We are not here to judge anyone. I for one am far from perfect and can only answer for my self. I will stand before God one day and answer for my life. I struggled long and hard about lush and my faith. You have no idea how many times I thought about closing my account down because of my faith. I would stay away for weeks, wondering, praying asking for God to lead me in this decision. I am still here, but if it ever came a problem between my faith and lush. Lush would have to go. My relationship with God comes before anything or anyone. So yes you can be a Christian and be on lush. I am a Christian.

Wonderful answer, and wonderful outlook.
I'll have an Ice cold red Kool-Aid please. Hold the drugs.

Has anyone heard the one about the flea that entered a bar?
I haven't either but if any of you do, please let me know.

I missed a lot. I hope everyone is doing well.

I finally got my parents moved and the day after I had surgery. It's been a bit stressful but things are going better now. My parents love their new digs. I felt well enough to take them to a matinee of CATS at the Kennedy Center on Sunday. My mom loved it and my father tolerated it. Which is the best we can hope for these days.

I still have a ways to go but I need to get some energy and catch up my reading and tackle a huge to-do list.

Also patiently waiting for fall weather to arrive. It was 94 yesterday. I'm not a fan of extended heat and humidity. I'm getting cranky in my old age.

I'll have a lemonade since it is still summer-like here.

Cheers Everyone!

I hope you are doing well now. I agree about the heat. It has been a scorching August and September in the deep south.
My ceiling fan. It has chosen today to start squeaking and it is driving me even battier than I already am.

My time in New Orleans, btw, could have been called The One Where Verbal Spent Two Nights in Jail During Mardi Gras. But I've told that story before....

Don't feel bad, you are not alone. I have put my share in there during Mardi Gras, though I usually tried not to do so if I could let it go. If not, you could find something to arrest someone over with 75% of the people there. The jails only hold so many and you would get cramps from all the report writing.

It's been a long time since i have had full sex in a car . but that might be why i quite enjoy the risk element these days :-) . are all of you talking about full sex? is it possible to make love in a car ? doing it while driving is really dangerous. I dared a friend a while back to wear some duo balls / Ben Wa Balls when we went out .. funny how pot holes in the road were now NOT a problem lol

American cars from the 80s on back were like Limos compared to the size of today's cars. Plus they had bench seats. I really missed the bench seats.
When I was growing up, and where I grew up, it was pretty much in the car or not at all. In the rural towns of Alabama everyone knows your business so trying to get a room would pretty much insure a call to someone's family.
I would choose Jennifer Aniston, though Courtney Cox is more my ideal as far as looks. It may be because I know Courtney's parents on a social level and have met her a couple of times. It would seem kind of weird.

Been to that one, too, and it is also nice. But I'd rather be down on Bourbon Street enjoying the food, booze, and music when I'm in the Big Easy. Or maybe enjoying a walk through the French Quarter. Sadly, I haven't been to NOLA in a while. The conference I used to attend there (same one as in Atlanta) no longer happens.

I'll have a wine on Fuzzy's tab. A chilled Chardonnay would go down nicely.

Bourbon is for when the night falls, at least to me. Also if you are there during the hottest part of the year, which is like maybe 10 months of the year, it is a cool refuge from a hot day, while you wait for the real adventures to start in The Quarter.

Fuzzy has a tab? This bar must be very trusting.

I can only assume that you're aware of this piece of lit. LOL you wouldn't be able to smell it..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Electric_Kool-Aid_Acid_Test

It was of course said in jest. I doubt there are many my age, that are fairly well educated, that have not heard of Tom Wolfe. I am sure I probably would not be able to smell it, but after all the radiation I received there are many things I can smell now that I could not smell before, and many things I could smell before that I can not smell now. It is quite bizarre actually.

Welcome.... One electric Kool-Aid on me..

I'll just have tea, I'm probably gonna hang around and watch this dude trip out for a while..

This thing smells funny. I hope it doesn't clash with my meds.
For anyone that visits New Orleans and wishes to try something that does not involve alcohol, yeah right, they have a very nice aquarium. It is located on The River Walk and is an easy walk from anywhere in The Quarter.

If the bartender is not too busy, could I get a red Kool-Aid, extra sweet?

Howdy Y'all!!! It's a great Sunday!

Last night, The Dawgs defeated Notre Dame 23-17 in an great smash mouth, punch each other silly, physical football game before a record size, and raucous, ultra-loud crowd on Dooley Field/Sanford Stadium, ''Tween the Hedges" in beautiful Athens, Georgia. The crowd noise was deafening.

It was a great game. The only disappointment is that UGA did not blow them out. I had UGA by more than 14.

Evening, Two, and welcome to, Rumplations, the ssediest beer joint in all of Lush Land.

There's a fair number of folks around here who prefer non-alcohol to getting shit-faced every night. I'm not sure why, of course, that is except for those with doctor's orders against the practice.

Anyway, we got coffee, tea (hot & cold), and hot chocolate. Just for you, we got a big nehi Strawberry bellywasher that's been hiding in the back of the chiller.

Hope you come back soon, despite your being a 'Bama fan. ;)

Anybody ready to join Two in a drink of whatever content?

Thank you. Avoiding alcohol is not by preference. It is due to the affects of radiation. It all taste extremely bitter due to damaged taste buds, and with no salivary glands the alcohol dries my mouth out to levels unknown. Us Bama fans are pretty good sports, at least those of us my age. We know that this incredible run has to end sometime, and we remember the times when things were not so good.

Quick, gimme a beer. Wait, I'm the dang barkeep. Sorry about that but Buz's third ranked Georgia Bulldogs just beat #7 Notre Damn by six points and with that ending a day of college football that started at nine in the frazzling morning out here, I'm a tad tuckered and thirsty.

Mercy buckets for the beer, Tawny. Another one of these and I'll be ready for some stress relief, so don't you leave early for your assignation, so to speak, with your cousin Bruce.

Anybody else need a drink?

The games started at 11 am for me as I am a Bama fan. That is too early to be starting serious football watching.

Oh do you have any ice cold Kool-Aid, in a red color? I can no longer enjoy alcohol.

The Atlanta Braves won the Eastern Division Championship of the National League last night, for the second year in a row.

Did you know the Braves have won more Division Championships than any other major league baseball team, plus own the record for consecutive Divisional titles at 14?. Well, now you know.

As soon as my wife finishes getting ready (quite a process), we are heading over to Athens to tailgate and go to tonight's big football game, The Georgia Bulldogs vs the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Go Dawgs! Sic 'Em! Woof! Woof!

Howdy Y'all!

I need a large cup of hot black coffee and two big Bloody Marys, please!

I loved The Murph, Glavine, and the others. I love me some Lewis Grizzard, I have his last book autographed, some Varsity hotdogs. and college football. Tonight I am all Go Dawgs, but come December it will be all ROLL TIDE. I hope we can still be friends, after all you guys stole Kirby from us. LOL I hope you enjoyed the game, it was a good one.
I wish I was drinking an ice cold, imported beer. I can no longer enjoy alcohol so.I am settling for some Kool-Aid. It is a damn shame.
Cocky is more overt and confident is more covert, or understated if you prefer.
