I danced amongst the flames,
That your words had set alight.
Each syllable a dangerous spark,
Each whisper burning bright.
You spoke and something deep in me,
Awoke without a sound.
Like tinder waiting years for fire,
Your voice it scorched the ground.
I burned but not with pain or fear,
I burned because you came.
Because a heart that longs for warmth,
Will gladly welcome flames.
My world reduced to ash and smoke,
The stars forgot to shine.
For every universe there ever was,
Yours came crashing into mine.
There was no edge to where you would end,
No place where I began.
Only the sweet surrender of
My body in your hands.
If wanting you should turn to fire,
Then let it claim my breath.
For I have never feared the blaze,
Only a life not touched by it.
