Walking along the beach

staring out over the waves.

The sun slowly setting 

as a gentle breeze blows

salt onto our lips.

I feel your arms tighten

pulling me against you,

as my foot catches on something.

I fall down landing on the soft sand

looking back I notice a bottle

I pick it up and go to place it in my bag

When I notice a piece of paper inside.

Curiousity getting the better of me

I just had to open it

tapping it against the sand

Until it falls out .

Gently I uncurl it

as I turn to show you,

but you are no longer there
