That look upon your face
As I stepped into the room
Magically, mysteriously
Dispelled my feeling of doom

We had waited so long
I was dressed just so
It was finally happening
We were going to know

Our time together
On the phone and online
Become something real
Or turn out to be wasted time

Smiling nervously I move
My heart beating way too fast
I walk across the room to you
This meeting our first, could end up the last

As I approach
You open your arms wide
I step in close, wrapping mine around you
I feel right at home now wrapped inside

With a sigh and a final squeeze
We reluctantly separate
Gazing at each other
At the same time say, “That was great”

Music begins, the tempo is slow
You ask me to dance
I might step on your toe
“It’s ok” I will take that chance

Swaying to the music
My head upon your chest
I decide to stop worrying
Time and Love will take care of the rest
