"This is inspired by a story I wrote under another nom de plume and has been refurbished and reincarnated."

The soft thudding of distance thunder woke me from a restless slumber. Tossing and turning I decided finally to get up as sleep eluded me this Valentine’s Eve. Entering the kitchen it became immediately apparent the storm was brewing at a much faster and more violent pace than was forecasted.

My life, while not one of solitude, was dramatically downsized since the love of my life departed. I suppose when this happens each person assumes it is the other’s fault but in our case it was a matter that absence did not make the heart grow fonder. We both felt at fault and assumed our contribution, but after five years the void left behind was still tinged with affection.

I sat alone in my kitchen on this eve of commercialized expressions of love listening to the sound of the storm’s growing force, rain clicking on the windows swept by strong gusts of wind. Looking through the broad windows in my kitchen the world outside was a collection of leaves and small branches swirling in chaotic furies, sheets of rain whipping in every direction.

At that moment soft hands caressed my bare shoulders and a voice quietly whispered,

“Close your eyes and lay back on the couch…just for a moment”.

Walking to the couch the hands gripped the elastic on my shorts and pulled them to floor then pushed me onto the couch .The room was as if entering a vacuum, not a sound, not a glimmer of light. All else seemed to have been consumed by some preternatural force.

My “visitor” knelt taking my length into her mouth sucked it down deeply while caressing my chest rubbing across my pebbled nipples. In a seamless move she straddled me taking my cock into her core it’s full length being embraced by her walls. We both shivered in spasms of arousal as our coupling became more adamant. The darkness seemed to envelope us as if in a dream yet something familiar nagged at my thoughts.

The pace dictated the lovemaking would not endure and we exploded together in mutual orgasms. She bent down and kissed me softly just before a huge clap of thunder rattled the windows and jagged bolts of lightening pierced the sky. The room was illuminated and revealed I was alone. The source of my satisfaction spread across my stomach.

I must have dreamed this in a way I have never dreamed before. Cleaning myself I retired to a dreamless sleep. Waking that morning I made coffee and turned news on. The lead story was a plane crash in a field just a couple miles away. The two fatalities were a well known executive and his companion a Doctor and Research Scientist, the love of my life. The time of the crash….it couldn’t be!

Love is lost and gained on Valentine’s Day. Today it was love’s final farewell.
