Adam was already home, scrolling through his phone, searching for something interesting to order for dinner. It was quite hot outside, and the thought of a cold beer felt especially inviting. He settled onto the couch. Eve arrived a little later than he had expected and sat quietly across from him, her fingers nervously twisting the edge of her scarf.
Adam noticed the subtle tension in her posture, the way her eyes flickered away from his, betraying a hesitation she struggled to hide.
“Is something on your mind?” he said gently, leaning forward.
She bit her lip, a fleeting shadow of uncertainty crossing her face.
“Well... one of my colleagues asked me to dinner this weekend,” she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. “He’s new to the office, and he wants to discuss a project we’re both working on.”
Adam nodded thoughtfully, trying to mask the flicker of curiosity and concern that arose in him.
“That’s understandable. How do you feel about it?”
Eve paused, then a soft smile curved her lips, lighting up her entire expression.
“Honestly, I feel a bit flattered. Out of all the people he could have asked, he chose me. It’s nice... to feel noticed.”
Adam arched a brow, intrigued and a bit amused.
“Oh? So, you’re actually considering it?”
“Yeah.” Her eyes sparkled with a hint of excitement. “I think I want to go. It’s not every day someone asks you out to dinner—especially at work. It feels special.”
His smile faltered for just a moment as he folded his hands on the table and studied her face. “Do you really think it’s just about work?”
Eve looked down thoughtfully, then admitted softly, “I’m almost sure it’s not. And that’s what makes it so interesting—the hidden game of seduction, the thrill of not knowing what will happen.”
Adam smiled, a knowing glint in his eyes. “I see. It’s the mystery that's pulling you in. Am I sensing a little excitement there?”
She laughed, the sound light and genuine. “Maybe just a little. It’s been a while since I felt that ‘first date’ thrill, you know?”
He grinned. “I know exactly what you mean. The rush of getting to know someone new—it can be pretty fun.”
“Please,” she whispered, “It’s just innocent fun.”
Adam reached across the table and gently touched her hand, reassured by the trust between them. “I know… just… if anything feels strange, or I don’t know... you can always walk away.”
She squeezed his hand gratefully. “Thank you, Adam. You always know how to make me feel better.”
He smiled, warmth spreading through his chest. “I’m so glad we can talk about these things honestly.”
Eve leaned in and kissed him softly, her voice barely a murmur. “I love you, Adam. Always.”
He returned the kiss, equally tender. “I love you too.”
“So? I will call to confirm the date?” she asked playfully.
“Yes, honey,” Adam replied, smiling.
The next evening, Eve stood in front of the mirror in her best lingerie, turning around as she tried on outfit after outfit. She called out to Adam, who perched nervously on the edge of the bed, trying to offer his opinions without betraying the anxious flutter in his chest.
“I don’t know, this one is a bit too revealing, isn’t it?” she asked, holding up a sleek, black dress.
Adam nodded, trying to sound casual. “Maybe... but you look amazing in everything. Just pick what makes you happy.”
After settling on a chic yet comfortable outfit, Eve kissed him goodbye, excitement sparkling in her eyes. Adam watched her leave, then grabbed his jacket and headed to a nearby bar for a couple of drinks with his friend Mark. Later, at home, he was browsing the TV stations as the phone rang.
“Did you enjoy the movie?” Eve’s voice came through, warm and light.
“It was okay. How was your dinner?”
“Wonderful. We had this decadent pasta with a creamy sauce that was just to die for. The ambiance was perfect too—soft lighting, cozy atmosphere, just right for a good conversation.”
Adam smiled even though she couldn’t see him. “Not exactly work-related, huh? Told you! So, how was Paul?”

“Charming,” Eve said with a hint of amusement. “He’s funny, we laughed a lot. But he was a bit hesitant sometimes and kind of sweet, actually. And he seemed genuinely fascinated by me. He said I’m incredibly attractive, that my smile’s contagious.”
Adam chuckled. “Sounds like he’s smitten. And not wrong, you are very attractive.”
“The little fox loves only you; you know that?”
“I’m glad you enjoyed yourself. Have you found a taxi yet?”
Eve’s laugh came through, carefree. “Actually, Paul suggested we go to a salsa club for drinks. Me? Salsa? In these heels? I might just step on his feet.”
Adam considered the invitation, then said, “Sounds like he wants to take things further, no?”
Eve’s voice was husky with mischief. “Maybe… You know, he might kiss me... or I might kiss him. I’m feeling a strong attraction. If it goes there, I don’t know if I can stop myself.”
“That sounds like fun… just enjoy the night.”
She sighed contentedly. “You know, I would’ve been happy even if you said no. But I love that you said yes. I hope you know how much I love you.”
Adam’s voice was gentle and sure. “Love you too, honey-bunny.”
The smile in her voice was infectious. “I’m going to tell Paul to find a taxi. Maybe I’ll even learn some salsa moves. Poor guy won’t know what hit him! Or maybe he will! Bye!”
The next morning, Eve woke slowly, the soft morning light spilling through the curtains. She stretched languidly, savoring the warmth of the sheets before reluctantly sliding out of bed. In the kitchen, Adam was already there, calmly pouring coffee with a quiet smile.
She returned his smile, eyes shimmering with something unspoken.
“Good morning. I have to tell you—last night was... unforgettable.”
Adam looked up, intrigued, his gaze sharpening. “Oh? Do tell.”
Eve poured her coffee and leaned against the counter, her face glowing with exhilaration. “I loved the salsa—the rhythm, the heat, the way the music seemed to take over me. Everyone was so relaxed, smiles everywhere. It was like the music melted away everything else. I felt alive, free.”
Her fingers traced lazy circles on the mug as she lowered her voice, her expression becoming almost secretive. “I noticed a lot of eyes on me. I danced with some beautiful men. And Paul was so cute, trying to play the Latino lover role. He was so nice… in a way that made me feel special.”
Adam raised a brow, a teasing smile tugging at his lips. “Latino lover, huh?”
Eve’s laugh was soft, a flicker of mischief dancing in her eyes. “Yeah. He held me close more times than I expected. And his hands, well, they wandered—more than any respectable man’s should. I could feel the heat between us.”
Adam’s grin sharpened, eyes flickering with equal parts amusement and challenge. “But, nothing serious, I trust?”
Her eyes locked with his, a slow, sly wink accompanying her low, confident whisper. “Nothing serious. Just a game... for now.”
Adam reached across, his hand enveloping hers with a warmth that sparked electricity. “I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.”
Eve leaned in just a little, her voice soft and thick with emotion, almost a confession. “I really did. Dancing like that, moving with the music. All of it!”
Her eyes flickered briefly, hinting at secrets left unsaid. And then, like she’d just uncovered a delicious secret.
“Oh, I almost forgot… just before we left the club, Paul grabbed my hands and pulled me close. Then he asked if I wanted to go to his flat... to drink some wine.”
Adam’s brow shot up, a flicker of surprise—and something sharper—crossing his face. “Oh? You didn’t!”
She smiled, a slow, sultry curl of the lips, her voice dropping to a teasing purr. “I was tempted. More than tempted... but you know me—I don’t give myself that easily. First dates aren’t for sleeping together. If he wants me, he’s got to earn it.”
Adam’s grin twisted, a spark of mock jealousy flashing in his eyes. “Earn it, huh? Sounds like you almost let him.”
Eve leaned in close, her breath warm against his ear, eyes dark and inviting. “Almost…”
And then, after a short pause, taking Adam’s hand in hers:
“But you, you get to fuck me... right now!”
