About sweetsinner

Hey there! Thanks for dropping by. You can call me Sinner. I'm here to read stories and poems, play in the forums, make some friends and have some laughs.

I dabble in poetry, as an art of self-expression. I hope that I can continue to learn about writing and grow out of the rigid and inflexible style I've grown used to in academic writing, by immersing myself in the phenomenal calibre of creativity here.

I tend to live life in first gear and therefore invest my whole self into everything I do. I am a work in progress and feel I am constantly learning. I believe kindness, empathy and gratitude are some of the most attractive qualities people can possess and I try to exemplify these in all areas of my life. I am a dreamer with barely a shred of pragmatism in my bones. I'm a sometimes social butterfly encased in some heavily shy and introverted walls.

I enjoy intelligent conversation, value a great sense of humour and appreciate sarcasm. I say fuck a lot. I love purple. I hardly sleep and it makes me a little delirious sometimes. I therefore giggle a lot. I'm interested in real conversation and real connections with people. If you think we will gel, shoot me an email and I welcome your friendship.

Relationship Status:
Taken by sweetsinner
I like: baking, the beach, bright coloured hair, cherry blossoms, cocktails, colouring, dancing, gaming, humour, laughing, learning, lego, love, photography, pinup, poetry, purple, puzzles, rain, reading, retro, rockabilly, romance, sarcasm, sex, sweets, tattoos, thunderstorms, vintage, writing and clearly I like to talk.
Favorite Books:
In recent years I have read more for learning that leisure, but when I do manage a leisurely read I love to escape so... adventure, romance, sci-fi and fantasy. I still adore the books of my youth and a lot of young adult fiction. Elli: Coming of Age in The Holocaust left its imprint as a standout favourite.
Favorite Authors:
Dan Brown, Suzanne Collins, JK Rowling, Melina Marchetta.
Favorite Movies:
Dirty Dancing, Inception, Interstellar, Juno, Lord of the Rings, Moulin Rouge, The Notebook, Pirates of the Caribbean, Shawshank Redemption, Silver Linings Playbook, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Strictly Ballroom, The Avengers + most of the Marvel & DC Universes. Still a sucker for Disney too.
Favourite TV Shows:
Current: Arrow, Daredevil, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Grey's Anatomy, House of Cards, Jessica Jones, Last Week Tonight w. John Oliver, Offspring, Orphan Black, The Flash.

Past: Battlestar Galactica (remake), Dexter, Firefly, Fringe, Gossip Girl, Heroes, HIMYM, The Stargate Franchise.
Favorite Music:
I love music, and find it a great form of therapy. I consider my tastes fairly eclectic but they are rock-leaning. I enjoy a varied range from the last five decades and I love discovering new artists that appeal to my taste and feed my music loving soul. I often add songs that I love to my video gallery.

Topic: The World Women Live In - Rape Culture Part 2
Posted: 20 Jul 2016 19:05

And in news reporting today my favourite kind of rape culture:
Revolting journalism that attempts to dismantle the horror of such a crime with blatant character assassination and victim blaming.

But WAIT.... "this is the perfect time for dialogues about precautionary measures" - yeah, like they are necessary, valid and reasonable? Oh, GTFO. We know these already.

I particularly love the way the Nine report shines a light on the fact she is the daughter of a Doctor. SMDH. In other words, let's insinuate that given her family's status she was no doubt well educated and should have been more classy and known better. Absolutely repulsive.

Here, Jane Gilmore fixed it: http://janegilmore.com/fixedit-women-are-murdered-only-because-men-choose-to-murder-them/

Topic: Experimenting with the Notifications API
Posted: 13 Jul 2016 04:17

It's pretty cool! I often do things on other web pages while the browser is still open so it's handy in that respect!
I did notice though, that these messages pop up and say they are from rather than who is sending them, which may or may not be something you can correct? (Eta: I noticed this has been sorted out, least I think!!).
And a little frustrating if you have a lot of Lush tabs open because you get a notification for every Lush tab ... my issue not yours :)
Otherwise, très awesome! Thanks.

Filthy thoughts release,
confessions drip down my throat,
secrets are swallowed.

If I had the choice
To be anything I want
I'd choose to be yours
