I was in Christchurch last month. I was left nothing short of shell shocked at the damage left by the 2 earth quakes that hit the city a couple years ago. The downtown area is closed. A ghost town. Reduced to something that resembles a tip. Every building, shop, restaurant is empty, bar a couple that have rebuilt. I'll post more photos as I process them. This place left a knot in my stomach. Tragic..

Those are shipping containers stacked up to catch this facade they are trying desperately to save. Its like this all over the city.

Christchurch Cathedral. Sadly, efforts to save it and rebuild have failed. It will be totally demolished, like just so many other buildings in the city.
