Knickers is very Brit sounding. Panties, thongs, undies are pretty much American. I notice it in other words too. The hood of the car for Brits is a bonnet. A flashlight a torch etc. I embrace the differences. Knickers to me are basketball fans. lol. Hey, I cant help it. I'm a red-blooded American girl.

Panties, rather than knickers, is also used in Canada and we flew the Union Jack until 1965

I live in the U.S. and I've always called them panties. I thought that knickers was a term that was more common in Great Britain and Australia. The only time I've heard the term knicker was in British and Australian porn.
