1. Researchers have had a notoriously difficult time estimating the prevalence of different orientations, especially the gray one of bisexuality. Do 75% of women in the general population have at least some interest in other women? Probably. At least Lush allows people to be truly anonymous and honest about it.
Itβs the only setting where Iβve ever admitted to it, personally. On that note, estimates of the share of men with at least an occasional interest in other men or their anatomy have ranged from ten or twenty percent to much, much higher. Based on my time here on Lush, including the reception to my many Bi-male stories, Iβd agree itβs quite a lot higher than ten percent, at least. I think many people would find that more astonishing than the share of gay and bisexual women, which has been almost assumed since the mainstreaming of porn.
2. Yes, some people here are not what they say they are. That includes people posing as women who aren't women, some of whom are romance or other scammers, and it can be difficult to know for sure.
Anecdotally, I've also been aware of a number of non-lesbian, actual women setting their profile orientation to Lesbian just to keep from getting hit on so much. I think it can be pretty fucking relentless here for some women, many of whom would like to come on and talk about sex and their sexual fantasies anonymously in a welcoming environment without getting propositioned all the time. I can't blame them.
