Just an update from my point of view, although I no longer have the message suggesting I update my (correct) email address I have had no email notifications for about a month now.
For some reason all of your email options are set to Never. Please review/update .... Settings > Email.

John-you are/were quite right (as always). That was weird because last time I looked everything was set at instant. I have now reset to instant so we will see where we go from there.
