More than two weeks “under review”

What is the deal with posting stories here? I wrote and posted a story almost three weeks ago and it is still “currently being reviewed”. The story was only 1,000 words and was not controversial in any way. I have written another story, currently in “drafts” because I apparently can’t post again while one is being reviewed.

Why would anyone bother to post with those parameters?

You may wish to browse this thread:

He can Browse, but not comment, since it's locked now. OP, three things are working here

1. There are a butt-ton of stories and not that many mods.

2. The subscribers get a higher priority, but in my case, that's still well past a week at a shot.

3. There is a competition going on, so any story that's submitted for that goes to the top of the pile since there is a deadline.

I know, it sucks, but the other sites have similar gatekeeping for their cliques; your mileage may vary.

To clarify, only members with a gold or platinum subscription get priority.

Moddy read another tale, she smiled and thought, 'l like'

While looking at the buttocks that she used to park her bike.

"The Sea Of Smut, it never ends," she said to waiting cocks,

As, 'ping' another wave from it slipped deep into her box.

Solidarity with our heroic guardians, WE LOVE YOU ALL ❤️

I checked to make sure that your story was published. At the time of this posting, you'd been a member for 16 days. Even if you submitted your story on the day that you joined, that would be a smidge over two weeks. Stories for members who are not Platinum or Gold can take up to three weeks when the queue is overloaded (as it is and has been for some time). You managed to get yours published just under three weeks. I'd say that seems fair. We are all volunteers, and we do the best we can. Patience is a virtue, and is much appreciated. 😎

Lose My Breath is my story for the Elements story competition. I hope you'll check it out!

I am happy to see my story was finally posted. I did indeed post the story the day I joined, having been a non-member reader previously. In researching times to publish (not a simple task on this site), the only posts I had found said a few days to a week (these were older posts). Unfortunately, there was no resource available suggesting otherwise until another member commented with a link to a specific forum post.

I would like to make a suggestion that a specific number of FAQs be posted under their own heading. Certain things like estimated time to publish would seem like a very useful tool. Honestly, I had given up and stopped looking. I have only recently learned that the site is volunteer moderated and each story is reviewed manually before being approved. I apologize for my impatience as I expected it was more like other writing sites I have used. Given the limitations of such a system I will adjust my expectations accordingly and limit my product.

This subject comes up frequently. Mods are volunteers who do a great job , an often thankless job. They have requested that writers do not submit another story immediately after their last one was published in order to give others a chance. It seems to have fallen on deaf ears. As many seem to ignore this in the pursuit to get their story “out there” and rated.

Come on folks, fair’s fair and let’s give others a chance!

I see that. As my first story is part of a series, I already have the next two installments done. One waiting in “drafts”. But have decided to heed the requests of the mods. As such, I will hold on submitting for a few weeks.

You don't need to wait a few weeks to submit your story. I always suggest 3-5 days after the last one to be courteous. But don't be alarmed if the approval process takes up to three weeks.

I'd LOVE that to pop up, banner-style, on unsubmitted story pages! The use of the words 'suggest' and 'courteous' might even send a positive subliminal message in the direction of where it is most appropriate!❤️
