A strange little something for Halloween.
I really wanted to thank whoever came up with this great idea. I love the idea of a micro competition. I hope there will be more like this.
For me as a non native speaker it takes a lot more time and effort to come up with a longer piece and I let some of the competitions pass because of that. So I am really glad I could participate in this one as my first try in a competition.

A question about word count... The actual text of my story is 100 words. I used the word count in the submission area to get down to 100. However, when I actually submitted, it is showing as over 200 words! I think it is counting the authors comments, etc. when coming up with that number. Do I need to have no author comment/description in order to keep to 100? Thanks.

It's because of your formatting choice. You have every line indented by 10 or more spaces, which is throwing the public-facing word counter into a spin. We require left aligned, non-indented text for submissions.

A semi-serious suggestion. If this issue cannot be fixed easily. Could we have the stories that have dropped off the bottom of the list added to the top and keep doing this each day until the end of the month?

Regardless, you can edit for typos etc if you want at any point. Nothing material though.

Nope. Sadly, it doesn't work like that. The developers need to increase the max story limit on the Comp listing page or enable pagination. I'm not sure which is most performant/best so the decision rests with them.
