This is a great excuse for me to write that text adventure spoof that's been in the back of my head; present tense and second-person POV have never felt so easy! I wrote 1800 words of funny non-sex stuff over the past 24 hours, then wrote one sentence of sex and decided to take a break. 😅

After throwing my hand in, earlier than I normally would, I'm working my way through the entries so far. Some wildly inventive approaches to the competition theme. Looking forward to more landing.

I'm going to see penguins in a few weeks but had never thought of using them in a story, least of all for here.

I finished my story last night, at over 5600 words, then hacked away at the unnecessary stuff to get it down to 4997. Now I need to read through it for a final cleanup. It's a quirky format, and I think the story is clever and fun, but it could fall flat with anyone under age 45. Only one way to find out!

I'm going to write a story where I enter this competition and win first, second and third prizes. That way, when the real winners are announced, they'll think they are in an alternate reality.
