Please, please don't take this the wrong way, sprite. this sounds like a really great idea. but I see you already recognize the probability that there is going to be criticism on your choices, particularly if you are to be the sole judge of who gets this award. perhaps a thread (this thread?) where you list several candidates and people vote, or even add additional nominees with a short explanation why they feel their nominee deserves the award (instead of just PMing you with names). That might take some of the pressure off you and your hate mail folder. maybe any nominees not selected could then be added to the end of your list and their names brought up again when they come back up to the top. just an idea. also, perhaps a bit more clarification of the attributes a member has that you feel qualifies them to receive it (since the award is your idea).

i think you must have missed the part where i asked people to send in their suggestions. i already have several people on the list that i wouldn't have caught myself. as for criticism, not matter what, someone is going to have sour apples and complain. i do it my way, i get complaints, i do it as a vote, people will complain it's just a popularity contest. it's impossible to please everyone, so i'm not even going to bother trying.

as for my hate folder, no worries, i deal with it just fine. be surprised what kind of stuff will get people's knickers in a twist. pretty much everything and anythings. so yeah, we're sticking with the way it's designed to run now. thanks for your inupt, tho. smile
