@Harmony, if the members thought is over 400 characters, then I shall truncate it, so not to obfuscate your other friends activity (either that or have less friends!).

I've noticed since the update that allows us to sort our friends was implemented that we no longer are able to see who we've blocked. I know of one instance where this would be a problem as things are now. You are chatting along and right-click the name of the person you're chatting with. You accidentally block them. What do you do? Well when I saw this happen, the only way to fix it was to remove them as a friend (since blocked people are under the friends list) and then have them send you or you send them a friend invite again. Once done they were able to see each other in the chat room and talk.

I understand the concept where the number of PM's you can send in a day is limited...I realize it's to prevent spamming...
But, how about upping the limit for members who have been here for a year or more, say, or at least upping it around the holidays...
I always have a problem when I send out a holiday message to all my Lush friends...I can't respond to their answers back for 24 hours...

I'd love to see a better image gallery (being able to see ALL the images in a gallery, similar to the current friends list), and notifications need to be done better. Facebook is a good idea to base it off of, where it saves them, and pressing the "notification" button will show you all your notifications. This is nice when I'm doing multiple things in my browser, lush isn't my priority, so I don't always see who's doing things to me or who's signing on.

I was thinking it might be good to offer sexual orientation as a choice in the profiles (straight, bi, gay male, lesbian, etc). It might save women (and guys too, I guess) from going to great pains to make clear what orientation they are and who they want contacting them. Besides, it would also be a handy search tool for some also.

A 'more' option for people who follow a lot of authors would be nice. (like the friends list) The page loads really slow if you visit a profile from someone who follows 10+ authors.
Maybe a 'more' option for favourite stories too, so you can have as many as you want

That's odd, Gav sent me a speed test today which put us at 0.27 seconds per page load, which is faster than the biggest media sites. It might be an issue on your isp side
