.. being silly ignore me lol.

Why stop there? Why not have votes on stories by Gold authors going from 3-7 instead of 1-5 - they're bound to be that much better than stories written by people from steerage. Or maybe have it so that Gold authors can limit comments to Gold members only and keep the riff-raff out.

Badges are just fun little perks.

I would love to see a spell checker on email and also on forum posts. I don't know if that is hard to do or if possible. But it would help.

That's something most browsers should already be able to do nowadays when you enter text into a multi line box. I can say that both Firefox and Internet Explorer (10 and later) have that ability, for Internet Explorer 9 there is an add-on called Speckie that does the trick. From what I found in the web, Safari on Mac OS has the capability as has Google Chrome. For Firefox I had to install a dictionary to get it working (right-clicking and selecting the "Language" menu takes you there) because I'm using a localized version and they can't ship those with pre-installed dictionaries for whatever reasons. All of these browsers highlight mistakes by a red squiggly line underneath, and right-clicking the offending word will show possible replacements or let you add it to the dictionary.

This is another idea I really like, I get tired of seeing other people comment on someone else's profile 500 times or post in the forum like a forum whore. I just don't care!

We could do something like making only Gold members show up in the authors scroll or the top authors list on the right side of the page.
We could also give gold member stories a higher percentage of showing up in a random story search.
Or, how about one contest a year in which only gold members could enter? I really like that one.

These are all good ideas as well. I do believe Gold members should have a few more perks than we do.
As much as I like Trinket's ideas, we should just try and focus on making new ones and not grandfathering old ones. We just need to get ideas to add to being a Gold member.

I also like the idea of a once a year gold member story competition. That would be interesting.

Ah, sarcasm. Always so very useful. Thank you for your help.

The Wild Girl anthology need not be read in any order but does take place in the following timeframe

Wild at Heart- 1968. The story of Dani’s Great Aunt Evie.

https://www.lushstories.com/stories/first-time/wild-at-heart

Wild Oats. Part 1&2. -2021. Dani is 16 and sets her sights on her stepfather.

https://www.lushstories.com/stories/taboo/wild-oats-part-1

https://www.lushstories.com/stories/taboo/wild-oats-part-2

Wild Child. 2025. Dani is now 20 years old.

https://www.lushstories.com/stories/taboo/wild-child

When I read a longer story getting back to the top is a real pain in some very soft spots. The back key works but takes 3 or more hits to get me there and I have to wait for the screen to reload.

Something hidden that's always a "Home" button but not visible. Wherever you are it just sends you "Home".

I don't like crap all over the screen when I'm reading. Most things don't display in the lower-left corner. It's the last place most look so the adverts tend to stay away from there. Anywhere, but it's always there.

Most of the badge ideas are "Ego" pump handles (which I will be an absolute fan of when I get that good) but I like the co-author badge idea. To bad two authors can't share the accolades. I'll like to try doing that one day, when I'm good enough to really contribute to the process.

Thank you for asking for input.
I am always a gentleman.

Well it was either that or a dull diatribe about exclusivity and division. I think some playful sarcasm made the point equally well. It made Dani laugh anyway.

And just so we don't send the thread off topic…

sorry, but it will never happen. we don't take suggestions from non-gold badge members seriously. sometimes, we'll laugh about them in the gold club, while drinking expensive wine and eating truffles, though. after all, you peasants are amusing, you have to admit.

Please no. This would certainly discourage new writers that are not gold. I'm not for exclusion of talented writers just because they're not gold. That list is hard enough to make for so many contributors of good stories here. Just no!

That is valid. On the other hand though, Gold Memberships help support the site. They cost money from those that choose to buy them and those members deserve some benefits.
Of course, we don't need to make changes at all, but if we expect more people to sign up as Golds, then there must be a commensurate return. It would be great to be completely egalitarian with all our members, but we set that notion aside the moment Golds were created.
I'm not locked into any idea, but good luck comming up with a real incentive that doesn't somehow create a disadvantage for those that choose not to take it.
Honestly, we should probably not even give any of these ideas serious thought as even the discussion of them will tend to create a divide.
On that note, I leave the thread for others to consider.

I agree with Coco, also I don't think members should be considered a Top Author just because they're gold.

I wasn't going to offer here anymore because I can already see the descension becoming a problem.

I will only say my suggestion was not that a Gold made you a top author. It was that to be eligible would require a Gold account.
Consider the idea withdrawn

Can we change the order of the listing that pops up when you click on a tag go from newest to oldest instead of the way it is now. I was looking for a recent story that had a certain tag and something from 2009 popped first. Please?

I couldn't really think where else to put this, but I thought that as an idea for a future competition, it might be nice to have a poetry one...

It wouldn't need to run for as long as regular story competitions but I think that it would give the opportunity to a different part of the lush community...

There are so many excellent writers who submit poems, but not stories, I know that poems can be submitted to comps and have been, but I just think this would open it up and make some of our regular contributors feel more included and also give this area more reads and recognition...

Anyway it was just a thought and I wanted to voice it before it slipped my mind...

You saucy minx!!!

Oh the comp?? *giggles*

Seriously though, I think it would stretch some of the really popular writers who "don't do poetry" and it would open up the whole comp thing to some really fantastic ones who only write poems...

It could be a lot of fun and of course, depending on the subject matter, rather challenging...

I think we'd see a lot of new faces in there, so to speak...

Yeah right - this is just you pitching for a comp you're going to win ;)

You know all the other "poets" on this site are, quite frankly, hopeless
