I think under our friends list, the one by the mail box on the right-hand side corner, we should have a search friend thing. Like, if you have as many friends as I do, you can just start to type in their name and it pops up for us. Instead of having to scroll down 200+ friends in search of that person. Because you don't know where you keep all of your friends, when you have that many. So, as long as you know how to spell the start of their name, you're in luck. Otherwise, not so much. I think this would be so helpful!
A search filter to see which members are on line.
99% of the time I'm on lush on my phone. The upload images icon would be nice in chat rooms and forums
I would like to see Illustrated stories... I think it would go down well with readers.
I would love more than 40 favorites..
I hate deleting some to make newer ones.
Awful.
I don't post much in the forums as I rarely have the time to hang out, but as a regular story poster and former avid reader I wanted to make a suggestion about the front page. As the membership, and specifically the submitting membership has grown, the mod squad has done a terrific job of keeping up the pace of approvals. (Well done, folks, and thanks!). This, however has created a very brief appearance period for any new work on the front page. Any reader not checking the front page twice a day is likely to miss half the posted work.
With the number of stories/poems on the front page limited to fifteen, the benefit of having your first five lines included with your title and one-liner, which can be used as a hook to draw readers, feels like it is falling short of the designed benefit. When I first came here, I thought the “5 line tease” was a brilliant concept, and I still do. I’d hate to lose it, but I would sacrifice that benefit for more time on the front page (my opinion, others may disagree). I did some unofficial research over the last few weeks; it looks like about 14 pages per week, or two per day. So you get about 12 hours, on the average.
I would propose several possible solutions.
1. Extended the front page capacity to say, 30 stories. This would theoretically double the time on page one.
2. Reduce the number of text lines included. If the page space is the issue you would be able to fit more in the same space. It would also challenge authors to make better use of the tag line, rather than the first five lines. (Though I'll admit the gain here is minimal, and using the opening lines as hooks is...fun).
3. Create an alternate front page for poetry. (Easy, read it through first...) I have nothing against poetry. It's not my favorite, for sure, but I'm not a hater. It's just not my thing, for the most part. I've read some very good ones by very talented authors. But over the last 6 weeks or so the two poetry groups account for over 27% (unofficial tally) of posted work. It's a little frustrating to work a few weeks on a story, see it appear, and then vanish after ten or twelve hours when 6 or 7 poems hit the front page.
I'm not suggesting an end to poetry. I'm suggesting an alternate front page for poetry only, where poets and their readers can commune in verse, thus buying the story authors a little more time on the stories front page.

Okay, one more thing, and then I'll shut up.
On the mobile page it shows what appears to be story counts by category. Yet the front page of the full site does not. Not a deal breaker, just curious as to why it would be seen as beneficial in one place and not in the other.

A block button for use on misogynist assholes, which would deliver a painful electric shock when applied.N56l8iXu0ss98V7h
I do think the mobile page needs work on it. In theory it should be a smaller image of the actual web site. I would like to see a video chat option on here that would be neat to have. Also a Google Hangout session on topics like how to write or any topics that the site and authors would like to talk about.
I would like to see an easier process for story edits and better feedback from the editors that gives proactive feedback and not smart ass remarks.
Back to the top button on this page. Thank you
Since I surf the "Members Currently Online list frequently, I would like tpo see "Orientation" in clded in the "hover over" menu; I would also like to hide or show my online status to specific people, like we can do with photo and video albums
I would love to have the ability to "hide" the new statistics portion of my profile, or the ability to control who sees the category.
If hiding this section isn't an option, then how about adding categories like:
1. number of stories a member scored to date
2. number of stories a member comments on to date
3. the average score the member gives on all stories
Regarding the new 'Statistics' section of our profile page, I have some minor concerns. Not concerns even, really just suggestions. It's nice to have that information all in one place, but I would love to have the option to switch it off, make it visible only to friends, or limit in some way. I know the 'last visit' function can only be turned off by gold members, but I wish I could keep some of that private. As it is, the section makes me feel like I'm trying to gain levels in a video game, and I lost interest in such things about a decade ago. Moreover, I feel it makes the site more competitive, in a way that's not valuable to the community. I hope I'm not in the hinterlands of left field on this one, because I think it's important. Not so important that I'm going to make a huge fuss, but enough that I plan to follow up. I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on this.
