When I first read Clean Sheets by dronette56, I was struck by its gritty realism, and the authenticity of the characters. It's tempting to veer into Pretty Woman territory when one is writing a story for the "Money" category, and to neatly wrap up the conclusion with a happy ever after ending. But the author stays true to the narrative while offering the main character an avenue of hope at the story's end. I'm delighted to announce that "Clean Sheets" has earned the EP Award. Congratulations, dronette56!

Clean Sheets

A young, homeless hooker sometimes crashes with an older man. It’s all business.

I love when you make me google things. Do it again 😍

Gritty, in more ways than one. Truly fabulous. Congrats, and thank you, Genny!

Curiosity is one of those insatiable passions that grow by gratification.

Yay! Congratulations, Genny! Great story! worship

Kindness is contagious. Spread it! ❤️

Congrats! It's in my queue! Now I'm gonna skip over a bunch of other stories and read it this afternoon! 😘

All My Love - Real love can last a lifetime and still feel brand new.

High School Sweethearts - bringing back an old favorite for y'all to enjoy.

Equal in Nature - an erotic love poem that earned me an EP back in 2008.

One thing I loved about this story was that I could envision it happening in my ex-gf's shabby apartment. You gave just enough detail but not too much, and I was able to immerse myself in the story and play it out like a movie in my head.

My high school creative writing teacher always told us (me) to trust the reader whenever we (I) wrote too many details.

When I read the story, I was struck by how real the characters felt. Both had their stories, their issues, their quirks, their development. Everything was written so consistently that I simply got sucked in. An excellent story with an outstanding character study. Well-deserved EP!
