We just bought a newly released doctor/patient tell-all style book on Amazon. It's called An Interview with the Carter Sisters by William Thomas Frasier. It's pretty edgy, very timely and appropriate with all the sexual allegations going on right now.
My Big Toe Trilogy by Thomas Campbell
I define nothing. Not beauty, not patriotism. I take each thing as it is, without prior rules about what it should be.

There are times she is kneeling out of obedience, reverence and respect. Those are the times it is okay to stand above her. But when she is kneeling because the weight of the world is just too heavy to bear … that is when You should be kneeling beside her.

Currently reading " Gods, Demigods & Demons, An Encyclopedia of Greek Mythology " by Bernard Evslin.
Just finished the first disappointing book by Joe Hill, Stephen King's son. The Fireman. Too many plotholes, too meandering. I REALLY enjoyed his other novels - NOS4A2 (Nosferatu on a licence plate) and Heat Shaped Box. The Fireman doesn't compare.

Reading escapist sci-fi right now. Pushing Ice, by Alastair Reynolds, about mining comets for ice and minerals, and what happens when one of the moons of Saturn breaking out of orbit all on its own. It's good so far.

One of the best books I’ve ever read. Most excellent dialogue and humor.
I’m not done yet, so there is time yet for my opinion to change, but I
highly doubt it will.

This book achieved notoriety after Oprah chose it as one of her book club choices, then was exposed as being partially untrue creating a bit of controversy.

It's the semi-autobiographical tale of a 23 year old addict and alcoholic going through rehab.

A lot of people who initially enjoyed the book were turned off after they learned that aspects of it were untrue. I honestly didn't give a shit. The parts that were made up really didn't have any impact on the overall story in my eyes.

Not exactly a "feel good" read, but definitely worth your time.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

"Fire and Fury" by Michael Wolf The controversial, best-selling book about the Trump White House. Strongly recommended.

I'm currently taking an excursion to the Hundred Years War by reading "1356" by Bernard Cornwell.

Cornwell is great. His "Saxon Stories" books were recently made into a TV show.

I would consider it on par with "Vikings."

If you want a bit of background info on the Hundred Years War, check out :

It's pretty comprehensive, and reasonably cheap. I've read it 3 times. You can usually pick it up for about 5 bucks online or in a book store.
I'm reading "King Leopold's Ghost."

I actually started reading this book a few years ago, but when certain events conspired to alter my life, I had to put it on hold. I recently started reading it again a few days ago.

Most history books are admittedly quite dry, and it takes a talented writer to make a historical account entertaining for the masses. Hochschild is quite good at this.

On the surface this book is a dark inspection into one of the darkest periods in human history, but at its core it's a survey of historical colonialism and its effects.

Dark, and haunting, this book details all the dirty details of a virtual genocide that killed over 10 million people. In a quest for international recognition and desire for rubber and ivory, King Leopold II of Belgium instituted a system of forced slavery enforced by , torture, murder and punishment by cutting off hands.

It's good. Well written and informative.

Fake news.

No Rest For The Wicked by Kresley Cole (book 3 in the Immortals After Dark Series)
Nothing. I very seldom read for pleasure. My last book was 50 Shades of Grey. I read it more to find out how erotic and kinky it was. Found it to be rather mild as BDSM goes.

Brandie
To The Lighthouse by Virgina Wolfe, because you know, I am a modern, jazzy cool cat, so why not read a modernist masterpiece?
The entire Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey

I got really stoked to see this movie after seeing the trailer for it, but I can't watch a movie based on a book without reading the book first. I'm really enjoying it so far.
