Indeed it is hard to pick one, but Eleanor Rigby would have to be my favorite. Simple, clean, simultaneously depressing and upbeat.
im in the same boat i dont want to pick just one but since i have to then its got to be help!
Come Together
1) Those drums!
2) "Paul is dead"
3) I like the bizarre
4) Those drums!
I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?
Probably "Eight Days a Week," "Can't Buy Me Love" or "Hard Day's Night."
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
I love this thread. The Beatles are very near and dear to my heart (see profile, lol) so it's very difficult to pick a favorite because it depends completely on my mood. I love them all. I guess for a toe tapper it's gonna be "I've just seen a face" but I could go on and on about every song. Even 'You know my name (look up the number), side 2 of the 'Let it Be' single.
Right now I'm hooked on the British release of the 'HELP' sound track. I've always thought George Harrions's "I need you" was one of the best songs on the album.
I have three famous stories, 2 recommended reads and have come in the top ten in two competitions~ Come in and make yourself at home.
As I said before, I have a Top 1,000 Songs of the Rock Era list that I compiled years ago. Out of the Top 100, there are eight songs by The Beatles and one by John Lennon. Here is that list.
1. Yesterday
15. Something
21. The Long and Winding Road
38. Michelle
56. Hey Jude
66. Imagine (John)
69. In My Life
87. Words of Love
99. I'll Follow the Sun
That was at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concert, not The Concert For George. Prince wasn't there. But you are right. Prince was very impressive.
I am the eggman,
we are the eggmen,
I am the walrus,
Coo coo cechoo
Early Beatles - Eight Days a Week
Late Beatles - A Day in the Life
Realistically, I prefer the Stones, Doors, or the Who of Sixties bands
It's way too hard to pick a favourite. It really depends on my mood.
I used to dance to Can't Buy Me Love with a long ago ex-boyfriend. I've loved it ever since.
I also love Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and Here Comes The Sun. But there's so many.
I hold "A Day in the Life" as the Beatles' greatest moment, though on average I rate a few other bands of the era higher.
#2 most favorite "Hey Bulldog!"
Too difficult to name just one.....but my choices are
- Hey Jude
- A Day in the Life
- For No-one
- Abbey Road medley
- Something
- I Am the Walrus
- Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever
and another forty or so!!
