Center of Attention or Fade into the Background?

Which would you prefer?

I'd rather work behind the scenes, myself.

Always in the background. Sometimes behind a curtain.

Some things I don't mind being front and center for. But in general I prefer to remain "anonymous" as much as possible.

You need to have the skin of a crocodile to be the center of attention in today’s world with the current hater culture.

In most situations, I prefer to be the center of attention (or at least in the group that prefers attention).

I tend to fade into the background as much as possible but there are times and places where I will let my light shine. Used to lay preach and lead worship in my days in a Unitarian Universalist congregation, for instance.

Never in the background, I don’t fade!

I spent too many years in supervision to ever need attention again. I left southern California to a very rural piece of land in tennesee just so I wouldn't have neighbors right on top of me. I want my personal lift quiet for now

Like the Wizard of Oz, I prefer to be behind the curtain making things go without the attention.

If you aren’t the center of attention you are doing something wrong.

I want to be my own 'center of attention'. But within everyone else's sphere I want to be the grey rock - faded so far into the background that no one notices or sees me.

Too many years wearing a suit being the center of attention, now I prefer to just fade into the background. It is amazing what you can see by observing others.

I always fade -- here, there, and everywhere. I'm the visual equivalent of that word that just won't come to mind.
