Yeah, pretty warm for May here, too. 31C (88F) the next two days with a chance of late day storms. Very July-August weather, in other words and more what I would expect for Canada Day (July 1) or the Civic Holiday (first Monday in August) than Victoria Day.

Lasted about 7 to 10 minutes.

Now calming the cats and and the animals, spooked but OK

No major damage at my friends ranch, which is good since there plenty waiting at Casa Fuzzy.

Those are nasty. We have had those in this area (in fact, wouldn't be surprised to hear the storm that just rolled through produced them) and they were basically just as bad as the force 1 and 2 tornadoes we occasionally get.

Tomorrow can't come soon enough. Nightwish, currently my favourite band ever, are releasing the first single from their next album. In fact, it's already out in places that have passed midnight since the streamers release at midnight in each time zone. This is their first new material since 2020 and the early buzz on Floorworld, the fan site for their lead singer, is very positive so far. On the down side, they are taking a break from touring so we won't be hearing this one live any time soon, which is too bad. I love their live albums and watched several livestreams of their festival shows in 2022 and they are even better live than in the studio.

We had t-storms roll through here yesterday afternoon, almost spoiling a barbecue supper, and then again overnight, around 3:30 a.m. Flash bangs woke me from a drowse.

Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and Irish Breakfast teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.

Big Bertha has been cleaned out, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.

Today we're using Folgers, because it's Lion's favourite, and he's had a rough time lately.

I've put out donuts, with Sara's sprinklies set aside with her sports section.

Plus I've got some cornbread to go with.

It's been a while since we've made the drive to Michigan. But we hit the road early this morning to make the trek north. We decided to drive this time so we could take our bikes. Plus we will be in Michigan for over three weeks.

Stopping in Tennessee for a couple of days. The best part of driving is being able to see things along the way.

Working on my SS comp story in the car since he is driving. Hope to have it submitted tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing all of my siblings except one this Friday at a retirement party we are having for hubby. All my kids will be there too. He didn't want a party, but agreed to a small gathering.

Will also go wedding dress shopping with my oldest daughter. The wedding is in Aug. 😳 she's a bit of a procrastinator.

Passing through to let you know I recently published the first part of my new series entitled Line Steppers last night in the Taboo category.

Hope we all can survive the coming heat this summer.

I hooked into Carlton's new series and it is seriously nasty – in a good way! Check it out!

Meanwhile, let's get some caffeine started because it looks like a beautiful, warm, summer's day here – complete with t-storm warnings for 2 pm!

Sunlight is already filtering through the dappled windows – I really must clean them someday!

Here’s a new pic of Buttercup. She’s all grown up now at 8.5 pounds (and all tail). All my other cats had reached or exceeded 20 lbs, so she feels light as a feather to me.

I’m increasing chiropractor visits until work eases in July. Sigh.

Yeah, they need to assess the damage and review records and stuff. We are kind of lucky here in London in that the Northern Tornadoes Project, who often get to make that call here in Canada, is based at the local university so storms here tend to get checked out quickly. After all, no travel needed when it's your trees that are down.😉

One of my cousins has died and the family is using this as a reason – not an excuse – for a family gathering.

Lady Jay and I are leaving for Ann Arbor early tomorrow, and will be back on Monday sometime.

I'll try to drop in when I can, but mostly, "Son, you're on your own."

There are some store-bought pastries in Storeroom 4 which have a stated shelf life of 2 days before the heat death of the universe. They contain "no non-artificial ingredients" so eat them at your peril.

And there's always Nessie for espresso-based drinks, plus I'll leave some instant coffee next to Tea Kettle. Plus there are all those very fine teas in the box.

Condolences, Bear. When you said you would be in Michigan I didn’t realize it was because of a death in the family. Hugs for you.

We are one hour away from our Airbnb for the week. In two hours I will be hugging my kids and grandkids. In 26 hours I will see most of my siblings and some nieces and nephews as well as friends who we view as family. Worth the drive!
