Update: sister’s surgery is Nov 7. Surgeon told her he wanted to try to do it this week, but scheduling said they’re booked. As it is, she has to go to Indiana for the surgery, else wait another 4 weeks for an opening here. Crazy! Waiting is the worst!

I have an idea for the comp. Did somewhat of an outline in my phone last night. Just have to start drafting. I have a feeling it will exceed 5K words, but we will see. It's been over a year since I entered any comp. I want to break that streak.

It's been a busy week in RL, so I've only been popping in and refilling my mug with Yorkshire tea. Cheers, Bear.

Hopefully, I will get the next chapter of Cash in Hand 2 published next week. I have five and three-quarters chapters written. It is that last quarter (the important bit) that's holding me back from publishing. 🙄😈

As for the comp. I have not even properly looked at it yet. With luck, I will start next week. But I may have to give it a miss, which will be a shame, as I have done the last 15. 😳😊

Good morning. How's life? I am just totally caught up in this dang long form story that's obsessing me. Timelined it out yesterday, now aligning what I have written to the timeline to make sure everything makes sense. That's when I am not debating whether to delete the whole effing thing to force myself to write something else. I think the root problem is that I am in love with the protagonist and trying to see where she ends up even if I don't end up with anything publishable.

Two nights of uneven sleep. Lots of waking up, weird dreams, aches not matter what position. So I need my tea extra strong. Assam.

I discovered Nomé Naku (stage name, forget her real name offhand) a while ago. She's a multitalented creative from California who does very ethereal, beautiful music. She writes, performs and produces the songs, does a lot of the work on the videos, and is a visual artist as well. This video pairs her with someone named Yara Liz who I have not checked out yet.

Oh, not that kind of French toast. But early for that kind. An Earl Grey and French toast.

Atlanta's Foxes & Fossils covering Queen with the terrific Chase Truran (one of three "Foxes", their millennial and Gen Z female vocalists) on lead vocals and the rest of the band adding the harmonies. Not an easy song but they handle it very well and Chase is fantastic.

A few days ago, the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame honoured Mike Reno and Paul Dean, who wrote the music for the great Canadian band Loverboy. They're one of the bands I grew up with, lively, driving rock delivered with bar band energy but on arena and stadium stages. And the tributes from that show are great, too. First is by Amanda Marshall, a great Canadian in her own right. Second is bassist and vocalist Todd Kerns who currently works with Slash and Myles Kennedy.

And a good morning to y'all. Not much happening here. Our nice weather seems to be continuing though we had a fair bit of cloud yesterday. In a month we will be prepping for a vacation but for now, it is just life as usual.

I'll be having a Coke Zero today, please, and thanks. Taking pain meds for the 4 hours of dental work I had done today, and it seems like a cocktail might not be a good choice.
