You know that saying, "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride." A lot easier to wish but very difficult to accomplish.
And now he's using taxpayer money to distribute his propaganda in violation of federal law. That part about "defending the Constitution", which means defending US laws, doesn't seem to have a place in his so-called mind.
I have long felt that, especially this term, he sees the president as an elected king and tries to behave like an old style absolute monarch, not a wussy (as Trump would see it) constitutional one like Charles III and other modern Western monarchs.

And I first introduced Kate as a university student whose first time kind of sets the stage for her new story.

Unfortunately, our current Supreme Court is doing everything it can to enable him to be "king."
Besides being guided by a patently unconstitutional core philosophy that repudiates the Ninth Amendment (without which, I will remind you, Jefferson refused to consent to the concept of a "Bill of Rights," lest it be construed as a strict enumeration of our God-given rights), this Court very much supports the imposition of religious law upon the country. The very repeal of Roe was the direct result of these two bullshit philosophies dominating the Court.
Put another way, not only are they not guided by the Constitution, they have already started imposing Sharia Law. Alito and Thomas are, at least, fully transparent about this, Thomas even admitting he wants to take it further by banning contraception too.

Well, no, they are imposing a conservative/fundamentalist Christian interpretation of the Old Testament Jewish laws. Sharia is Muslim and comes with it's own set of values and baggage. Every Muslim will tell you they follow Sharia, but there are many diverse interpretations and understandings of what that means from the fundamentalists in Iran and Saudi Arabia to more liberal ones like many North American Muslims. And Christians and Jews are very much the same with the Old Testament laws. So you can't say they are imposing "Sharia" or "Biblical" laws. It's much more specifically a fundamentalist understanding of those laws. IOW, please don't judge a religion's value system and religious practice based on the most extreme interpretation of it. In the end, this is on the Supreme Court justices for choosing to bring their religious values into a secular courtroom, not any religion.

Bravo!!! Excellent description of the intersection of law and religion.
I agree with most of what you said, but I'm using the word "Sharia" less narrowly, to mean the secular imposition of any form of religious law. Even if it's the religious law of what I would charitably describe as a misguided variant of Christianity (to which, not coincidentally, at least three Justices publicly adhere), that is what's being imposed upon many Red states in the wake of SCOTUS's official sanction. If anything, I'm using the term more faithfully than many conservatives, who mostly use it as a blunt hatemongering epithet. See also "communist," "socialist," "radical left," etc.
As an enthusiastic Christian myself, I certainly do not judge Christianity as a whole by these extremists who are imposing their contorted version of Christianity, and what they see as God's Will, upon the rest of us. My own view of God's Will is that we are called to be peaceful, loving, kind and forgiving, recognizing each other as instances of God's greatest creation. Consistent with that, I strongly believe that Christ's teachings, love supreme among them, support women's self-determination and sexual freedom - in diametric opposition to what the cons are trying to do to us.

One of the biggest issues with the way Supreme Court justices are selected is their ability to avoid answering questions. Every nominee for the last 30+ years was asked about their position on Roe. Most, if not all, declined to provide an answer. Instead, they relied on the concept that they can't talk about possible cases that might come before SCOTUS. If you can't talk about your views on possible cases, what the hell is the point of having them appear for hearings in the Senate. And God forbid they are asked about their religious views - that is forbidden. We might not have the Court we do today if the Senate knew about the 3 justices with "a misguided variant of Christianity." I think almost anything is fair play before selecting a person to serve in a lifetime role that can decide the fate of the entire nation.

But the use of "Sharia" to mean that is a misuse of the word rooted in Islamophobic ideas about Sharia. It does not mean that at all. Sharia is the Muslim equivalent to the Jewish law found in the Torah. The use of it to mean imposition of religious law is based on a bad (deliberately so, in all too many cases) Western misunderstanding of how Islam operates in the Muslim world. If you mean "secular imposition of any form of religious law", then talk about theocracy or ecclesiocracy. Those are legitimate English terms for that.
Sorry to harp on this, but my son and his wife are practicing Muslims who observe their interpretation of Sharia and things like this create a very hostile environment for them.

Sorry for my misuse of the word. It was flippant and a sloppy false equivalence. I concede your point that it is quasi-Christian theocracy and not Sharia that is being imposed. Sorry if i've contributed in any way to spreading Islamophobia, which is certainly not my intent. I have known and worked with many Muslims over the years and have the deepest respect for them. I've long been outraged that the cons keep invoking Islamophobia by raising the alleged spectre that "Sharia Law" would somehow be imposed here, as if such a thing were even conceivable. I'll find better ways to argue against that in the future. Deepest apologies.
Apologies to readers too, for taking the bait and derailing this thread from its primary topic: Uncle Scam.

Trump has been openly/actively manipulating the stock markets, then making a financial killing 'investing' with his inside information knowledge. Both he and his two criminal sons have been manipulating Kalshi and Polymarket since they retook office.
It's even been recently learned that Trump is profiting from Iranian crypto-currency (and funding world terrorism, in the process) while waging an illegal war against Iran. WTF already..?

No other President in history has made $2 billion while in office. The crypto money alone should be grounds for an in-depth corruption investigation.
