River God - Wilbur Smith

Oh, I love Wilbur Smith's books - have not read that one yet! Currently, American Pastoral, by Phillip Roth...good, a bit slower and heavier than Mr. Smith. Now I know what I'm reading next!
Euphoria, by Lily King. I wish I were reading it in bed right now.

Me too, I LOVE the Courtneys.

River God is one of my favourites by him, if not THE favourite for me I urge you to read it, then read The Seventh Scroll which is about River God and modern day archaeologists uncovering and piecing together all that happened in River God which is based in Ancient Egypt which has always fascinated me hence why its my favourite book by Wilbur.

I have always liked to read and my Dad loved Wilbur he was a huge fan and he got me into reading him when I was in my teens, the first book he gave to me by him was The Burning shore and I was totally hooked.

Sorry I am rambling but i rarely encounter many people who like him also especially on here as his books are not really highly sexed are they. Do try River god and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do, my book is so crumpled I have read it so many times now.

The brilliant incomparable Richard Flanagan, The Narrow Road to the Deep North - I just started it again after I finished it last week. OK I'm biased because he's Australian but I do so love the way he writes, exceptional.
