Ok so i am a 20 year old male and i am still a virgin. I have been reading these stories for a while and would love to write one. Do you think it is possible to capture the emotion and feelings behind a sex story if you havent experienced sex? Let me know what you think. Thanks.

More difficult perhaps, but possible

Most of the feelings would be emotional, have you had a girl/boy friend?

But I guess you've masturbated, so know what it feels like to come. If you've read enough of the stories here, you'll have an idea of how to describe the ins and outs of sex (!) Half the skill of writing a good sex story is the context - the story behind the sex. You could probably write a really effective story, based on your own experience, of wanting to have sex - then use your imagination and research to fill in the rest. Good luck!

22 February 2024 - How about a quick plug for one of my filthiest recent stories? It's all in the title - Naked Pool Party Swingers | Lush Stories Please read, comment and maybe give it a ❤️ - or even a⭐ if you really enjoy it! Thank you! Annie xxx

I'd suggest to read more of the Romance category - get the feelings that go with an encounter - then some of the more popular stories, perhaps First Time

It's not that easy, Hanky - I was shy as well when I was younger, it's a difficult think to overcome

I think so. You wouldn't be the first virgin to write a little erotica. I echo everything naughtyannie said too. Have fun with it and if you need any writing tips, our writer's resources and Morgan Hawke forums have some great links.

Stephen Crane wrote one of the greatest American war novels - The Red Badge of Courage, of course - even though he'd been born after the Civil War, and without having ever been in a battle himself at that point in his life. I believe Edgar Rice Burroughs had never set foot in Africa, despite creating Tarzan.

The notion that you have to "live" what you write about, or the whole "write what you know" school of thinking is a myth. I remember hearing a story about Hemingway once when he was a war correspondent in Europe, sitting in a bunker when it was attacked. Everyone was running for cover except Hemingway, who said he wanted to know how it felt to get hit. Stupid motherfucker who just had a death wish and one of the most grossly overrated writers who ever lived.

Fuck what you know. Write what you feel.

One of my favorite authors here is very open about her virginity. She reads, she asks questions, and writes incredibly stories. If she can do it, so can you.

I would think so, some stories are based on experience and others are down to a good imagination.

I think it is possible to fool people into thinking you can capture the emotion and feelings behind a sex story, certainly. Whether or not the story is good, is an entirely different matter. Here are some pointers that I've found useful:

EXPERIENCE
The first place to start, in my opinion, is with your own feelings. How does your skin feel when you use certain pressures in certain places? What emotions do you wish you could experience? How do you think you would feel if somebody said certain things to you? How might you respond?

EMPATHY
Try to think about another person. What would they like? What might they like you to do to them? What might they like to do to you? Why? What makes them feel that way? What motivates them to do what they do? Is it the same for you, or can you at least understand it? Empathy is the master stroke (geddit?) of your writing. Try to take what you have, and roll that into how somebody else might feel.

OBSERVATION
Read. Read the forums. What words do people like to use? What turns them on? What scenarios get them wet? How do they express themselves? What phrases and images do they use, or like to hear or see? What shapes of body, what settings, what positions? Get a coffee in a busy place, and watch people. See how they interact. Sit in the chat rooms and stare. How do they respond to certain things?

IMAGINATION
Sometimes, all we have to go on is what we can imagine. Using the first points, you can create a scene and characters, and string words together that will capture the imagination and emotions of your readers.

EXPRESSION
Using everything that you have experienced, empathy for other people, observation of their behaviour and words, and a splash of your imagination, you can construct a piece that is exciting or quietening, raw or polished, edgy or flowing, romantically sensual, or fucking brilliant. But you will never know until you try.

ENJOYMENT
Write because you want to. Enjoy the process, even if you find it frustrating at times. Write because you have something inside you that wants to be exposed, played with, explored, and shared. Whether it makes the verification process will be important to you, as we may work hard, but it may not always be something that is ideal reading. But you have to start somewhere, if you do want to start. Don't let anything hold you back unless you like it that way.

Experience.
Empathy.
Observation.
Imagination.
Expression.
Enjoyment.

A wise man (who has already posted in this thread) once said to me, "Fuck what you know. Write what you feel." The truth was, I didn't know what I felt, other than that I wanted to write. What does a virgin know about fucking? Nothing. Or so many non-virgins might think. But we can build up a picture with those points, and it's a start. I've learned a lot, and I'm not just talking about the proper use of a semi*.

Write because you want to, not because you know how.

I knew there had to be one out there, a shy Aussie, that's rare. Lol.
The answer lies in your writing ability, one of the best gay male stories here was written by a woman. Think of any description of death in a book, the writer hasn't felt that. Each person has their own feelings and emotions, even they change with a different partner. As long as it's believable readers can associate with it, maybe not all of it but enough to relate.

Of course you can. You think Philip K. Dick has ever been a robot who thinks he's human or Martin Scorsese a mob boss? Just play to your strengths. Maybe write about voyeurism, masturbation or a first time sex scenario. Don't go write about some dude that is getting laid left and right because then that will probably turn out unintentionally funny.

What Shylass said! I think the writing might seem more authentic if you kept it closer to your realm of experience, but most of us are adding generous dollops of fantasy to our prose. (For example, I've never actually participated in an MMF ... )

Yeah it is man. Every women wants a man that will make her feel as if he woild do anything to get her and to keep her. So in your story make the male charater like that. And every man wants to be the guy that gets the dearm girl no matter what. Also it's good if you give the male character a big flaw. Such as, he is ugly and the dearm girl is around this greek god looking mother fucker. And he does what it takes to get her and they live happy for ever and ever. Also keep in mind every woman needs to be made to feel as if she is her dude's dearm girl. You can gain insight by reading authors that do well in writing these types of stories.
As the self proclaimed number one romance writer, go take a read at some of my stuff? You may not want to read my stuff to start off with as it is complex. Even the master writers of our time would have a difficult time mimicking my style and if they did it still would only be an imitation. However, if it were me I would read this, read a few stories, and then dig deep into myself to find out what it all means to me.

I think you definitely could. That is what is so incredible about ones imagination. As long as it it sounds hot and believable you can do it.

Watch some porn to see what happens and just write about what you see or imagine.

Stephen Crane wrote "The Red Badge of Courage" (one of the all-time great war stories) before ever hearing shots fired in anger and I've never heard of Thomas Harris ("Silence of the Lamb") giving cannibalism a try. So, IMHO, while experience might be advantageous, not to mention, fun, it's not essential for crafting a viable sex scene.

You write a gingerbread sex story, and I will read it (as long as the category is not Incest). If it is truly great, I will tell everybody I know (well, the people who wouldn't have a heart attack upon finding out that I read Ginga Porn).

I will warn you, however, that I am very persnicketty, so you'd better do a very good job. Good luck! Let me know when it's posted.

Not naming any names but I do know of authors that have written stories when they were a virgin. They were great stories, but I did guess correctly that they were a virgin from their writing.

It is possible, but its just a bit harder to capture the feelings when you haven't experienced them. This doesn't just stand for writers that are virgins, but writing about anything that you haven't lived through is always going to be harder.

If you ever want anyone to give your writing a read before you submit to give feedback, send me a message.

When I read I want originality, insight, creativity, and a bit of humor. I want to tap into things I don't usually feel - and see it from someone else's point of view. I want to read believable sex.

I've read a lot of stories written by virgins and they don't thrill me. To be honest, some are downright sad to read because a lack of experience and real life knowledge is evident. Body parts and other things can be mis-labeled and written about in an odd way, for example.

But I concede it's just my opinion and my preference. Maybe even my personal bias against virgins in general says more toward this. (Some people love the idea of virgins writing about sex -they find the lack of experience and innocence to be cute or something)

Not saying it's not possible - but it's a very difficult task to undertake and turn into someone I, personally, would enjoy.

It's one thing for people to say 'yeah - go for it' - and a whole other things to write and see your issues and weak points when everyone's too positive in response.

Write what you desire. Keep it honest in your heart and just imagine the fantasy. You'll do fine

The problem you have is that you perceive the reader has more knowledge/experience than you do. As far I know, Agatha Christie never actually murdered anyone but then neither had 99.99% of her readership.

That really shouldn't put you off though. I can't imagine you've found your way to this corner of the internet without a reasonable, basic understanding of the mechanics of sex. As a grounding, that's pretty much all you need to know - the rest, like any writing, is about identifiable characters and intriguing situations.

One other thing: like porn, most of what you read here has little to do with actual sex.
Warning: The opinions above are those of an anonymous individual on the internet. They are opinions, unless they're facts. They may be ill-informed, out of touch with reality or just plain stupid. They may contain traces of irony. If reading these opinions causes you to be become outraged or you start displaying the symptoms of outrage, stop reading them immediately. If symptoms persist, consult a psychiatrist.

Why not read some stories instead
