I have so many favorites, but I keep coming back to Blade Runner. It's visually stunning, the Vangelis filmscore is incredible, and Roy Batty is one of the best characters ever created... it's high art!

Great movie. I was actually a little worried about it because I love the original short story by Dick. I am always worried when they turn a great story into a movie.

What did you think of BR 2049?

That's one of my favourites, its on my movie list here?

I'm not sure if i could pick just one favourite
I love so many

But I'll do a top 12

1. The graduate
2. Harold and Maude
3. Black Christmas ( original)
4. Halloween ( original)
5. Some like it hot
6. Shaun of the dead
7. The killing of sister George
8.pulp fiction
9. Breakfast at Tiffany's
10. Duke of burgundy
11. Desert hearts
12.the women ( original )

I can't argue with most of those, but I am going to have to check out 'The Killing of Sister George'. I recall hearing something about it, but have never seen it. Thanks

I actually remember when that came out because a reviewer I followed at the time did a good piece on it, though I didn't see it until many years later. It didn't blow me away or anything, but the acting was pretty good which is what you need in a movie like that I think. Shave and Charbonneau definitely worked well together.

My favorite movies actually tend to change over time, but there are a few that remain at the top. Casablanca is the most consistent favorite, as in is the one that I am most likely to cite in a thread like this. It's one of those movies that just comes together. The cast, script, direction, mood, music, just all fit together to make a whole that is more than the sum of its parts.

Another is Close Encounters of the Third Kind. It's a fantasy version of a first contact movie, big, visually beautiful, but still managed to have a compelling human story about those affected by the alien encounters leading up to the big event.

Casablanca is another of my favs as well. How can you go wrong with Bergman! I didn't think she quite had the chemistry with Bogart, Lauren Bacall will always be the one I think of with him, remember Key Largo?
I am watching an all-time favorite, 1985's Desert Hearts, starring the lovely Helen Shaver and Patricia Charbonneau. It's one of the few mainstream movies that feature lesbians. It takes place in the late '50s and you really feel like you are there with them. The kiss in the rain was incredible, but the kiss in the hotel blew my mind!
Is there any doubt? Such a lovely smile! Every post I have seen of hers speak of a kind person, one who would be lots of fun in and out of the bed!
Endear nice to hear, but it's actions that speak the loudest!
Do not meddle in the affairs of Wizards for they are subtle and quick to anger!
I ran into Vivien on another forum, i think she might think I am stalking her! So I think I will give her a random-drive-by Smooch and whisper "I'm not following you, just lucky tonight!"
I think I have a new fantasy! Goddess, i hope she likes women! Just checked her profile . . . Yes!
I don't know Vivien, but I love her profile, especially "Friends to me are members I meet, I feel could become friends ".

One of my issues with places like FaceBook is their use of the term 'friends'. A friend to me is someone I know, someone I have connected with at some level, and most important is someone that I like. When someone brags about their multi-thousand friend's list on FB I laugh at them. they don't have thousands of friends, they have thousands of people who were willing to click a button. Are they going to come to your rescue late one night in the pouring rain when your car breaks down? Oh hell no! OK, putting my soapbox away.

Didn't mean to preach, Vivien. Great profile! Thanks!
I have a mild case of Attention Deficet and it really gets in the way often. Trying to stay focused is a constant struggle, which is one reason I write.

If you could pick a specific talent you have always admired in other people, but do not have yourself. What would it be?
Intriguing Profile! Great TV show choices too :-) Hope you have fun here on Lush. I know I do!

Haha!!! I have never had it but then again I'm pretty picky about chinese food
So looks like im safe from February snow storms
and uhh an added flaw to my resume.

Glad to hear it!

I've only had to open my house like that once. It was Feb, it was during an ice storm, my part-time cat lost a discussion with a skunk and came running into MY house at 1 AM. You should have seen me. trying to hold a cat in the sink while pouring canned tomatoes on a very unhappy kitty while trying not to breath. Every window was open because apparently how a cat handles something like that is to try and run away from the smell, which means everything got it. It was 15F outside and sleeting ice. I was also very unhappy. I am glad I wouldn't have to repeat it with you and LaChoy! But you might look better than that cat covered in tomato bits!

I should explain the 'part-time' cat. My neighbor had a house fire so she and her new cat stayed with me while the repairs were being done. So the cat lived here for almost 3 months and thinks of my house as his. Plus the last owners of this house left a cat flap in the garage door. So when I heard the cat meowing at the inside door, I foolishly opened it up. Did you know fresh skunk spray smells a lot like burnt rubber, only much, much stronger!

Other than that, the cat has taste because if my neighbor foolishly opens a can of LaChoy, the cat first comes running when he hears the electic can opener, but once the lid comes off, the cat leaves the house!

My bed is calling me, and you and a pizza are not in it, mores the pity!

Awww damn..lol

I'll be cool and compromise though

One does not compromise over pizza! I guess contrary to popular belief, you aren't perfect! Well, if it's your only flaw, just don't eat it in front of me! Now, one last food issue, if you like (shudder) LaChoy canned pseudo-Chinese food, we can never be friends! If you even opened a can of that crap in my house, I would kick you and it out and open all the windows in the middle of Feb in a snowstorm! That stuff is gross!

OK, but no anchovies! I am not kissing you after you eat anchovies![/quote

Easy deal i hate anchovies...
I'm almost afraid to ask how do you feel about pineapple?

Uhoh! I am a NY'er, pineapple is fine, but not on a pizza . . . I think there is a NY State Law! Like Raisins in oatmeal cookings, there are some things that should never be togehter!

I vote for half time snack lol

OK, but no anchovies! I am not kissing you after you eat anchovies!

Nope..but I'd try it ?

Well . . . either it's part of the afterglow . . . or a halftime snack . . . or a preliminary to get your strength up LOL

NY-Style Pizza, Hawthorne Pizza north of New York City, about 30 minutes away. How fast can you get there?
Centimeters, the New Inches. However, do not be impressed when a guy says 9 centimeters, there is a difference!
