The ATL can't keep an NHL team. They both got moved to Canada. There is a AAA hockey team here. I think they had better attendance at the 10,000 seat arena in the suburbs than the big one downtown (Phillips Arena, where the basketball Hawks play).

The majority of the northern transplants live in the suburbs and the real southerners don't know much about hockey. There is a quite a lot of Canadians that have moved to the Atlanta area, but then again, they gravitate to the suburbs with all those housing subdivisions. (You can buy a lot bigger/nicer house for the same amount of money than in the city). I have attended several of the AAA team (Gladiator) matches but get totally lost in the penalty/rules. I still don't know what 'icing' means. But I never saw a live hockey game without a great fight breaking out. One game, seven separate fights broke out.
I'll be taking y'all up on those drinks. I need a lot of those.

I'm trying to be optimistic. The Falcons have a very young team. Had a lot of rookies this season and several players with no more than 2 or 3 years experience. The head coach, Dan Quinn, well, it this only his second year as a head coach. The team should be a major contender for awhile barring any major injuries. AND, the 2019 SuperBowl (year after next) is scheduled for the new Atlanta Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Maybe the Falcons can turn that thing into a home game. Has that ever been done (someone playing the SuperBowl in their own stadium)? I was thinking it happened once way back, like maybe even before I was born.

Time for another drink...
Hey! Hey! Rumpy and gang! I've got a SuperBowl Party going at my house, damn house full of crazy people. More beer and booze than is actually needed, but my wife sent me to the store to get wine coolers. Wine coolers? For some of the ladies. Grrrrr...

I met a Lamborghini with Falcons flags on it on the street. Nearly every house in the neighborhood has Falcons balloons tied to their mailboxes and Falcons flags flying from their front porch.

I have a house full of getting drunk folks. I just downed a few more beers with Jagermeister shooters. I will not be driving the car anymore today.

Several of the women did their poorly choreographed version of an Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders cheer and ended it with a boobie flash. Hmmm... don't remember the actual Falcons Cheerleaders doing the boobie flash but who am I to complain? Damn, I love it when women get drunk!

Go Atlanta Falcons!

2nd actually. And I had to kick her to the curb when I found out she liked Almond Joy.

My wife switched to Mounds. Two of 'em. I had to get used having a couple of D's in my face rather than those B's I'd gnawed on for a long time. Oh well, you could say, 'they grew on me.' Then she went had got 'em pierced and installed some jewelry, which is pretty fun when she put those little bells in and I make 'em ring-a-ding-ding all night.
I am 100% straight but that does not hold me back from having close friend relationships with men that are gay or bi. I think that the overwhelming majority of Lushstories members are very open-minded, tolerant, and very accepting. As a story mod, I do verify gay and bi male stories and have given RR's to stories in those categories.

I do hope any gay and bi guys feel 100% welcome and comfortable here and can make a home on Lushstories. We're proud to have you.

Tell those Maori gods to go easy on an old blind vet who, once upon a time, pronounced Nuclear the same way as President George W. Bush, "nu-cue-lur...honest". ;)

Probably has something to do with regional dialect. I know where I am we can add more syllables to a three letter word than most people can comprehend. I think y'all might do the same in your neck of the woods, Rumpy. Do these folks know y'all spell GO as GEAUX? smile Course y'all add Tigers to that.

So drinks all around. I feel like a Long Island Tea, hmmm... or an ice cold beer and a barbecue. It's a mighty fine, cool and sunny day here in The ATL. Everyone here is stoked big time for Sunday. Go Falcons!

During the Middle Ages, knights really weren't very chivalrous, based on those rules of chivalry. They were actually a lot more like Mafia thugs. They helped create and enforce the feudal system, keeping the common people, serfs, in their place, and protected the Lord of the estate. And did that only as long as he could pay them. When an army of knights with their entourage was on the move, they lived off the land, meaning they pillaged everything in their path. So the Age of Chivalry? Not so much.

So this is the 21st Century. Being a gentleman, I think, never goes out of style. And a true gentleman is not condescending and most certainly not a misogynist.

My mom went to a great deal of work teaching me how to be a gentleman when I was a kid. My mom is a very strong woman in most respects. She is a working professional with a doctorate degree, and has advanced very far in her field. Besides the opening of doors, pulling out of the chair, and all, respect was at the top of her list of things she taught.

THE MAN IS BACK!

Whatever you're reading, mark your spot and turn instead to the new story, "Felicity's Folly" by the incomparable, Jaymal.

eta: just got this notice from Lush: Jake Malden/Jaymal has set aside his erotic writing, but a few previously unshared treats still exist. Here's one of them. Enjoy - and let the author know, if you do.

https://www.lushstories.com/stories/reluctance/felicitys-folly-a-cautionary-tale.aspx

This is probably the first time I've recommended a story I've yet to read. The thing is, anything that rascal writes is well worth your trouble, trust me. It's over 11,000 words long so budget a fair slug of your day for the read.

Now I'm out of here to read about poor Felicity and her folly. Serve yourself. Terrance will keep and eye, in fact several eyes on Rumplations' ever-honest customers.

I caught Jake's story in the verification queue. It is a superb bit of writing. I recommend it too, and in fact, put the blue thumb thingy on it. Evidently, Jake is finishing up his erotic writing here. He's done quite a bit and hopefully, new members will catch on to his catalog of stories.

Hope you are well, Rumpy. How are things down in The Pelican State? I know the food is awesome! Louisiana is no doubt, unsurpassed as one of America's best food states.

Whenever your Bayou Bengals come to Athens to take on my Red Clay Hounds, my tailgate crew goes all out Cajun for the occasion. Too bad, that SEC rotation just doesn't allow The Dawgs and Tigers to square off enough. Over 90% of the time those two teams put on a down to the last second thriller of a show when they play.

Buz, Sweetwater Brewery? Just out of curiosity, is that sold outside of the South? Sam Adams can be had anywhere, but I've never heard of Sweetwater.

The Pacific Northwest and Lower Mainland is rife with microbrews, both local and from far-flung places, but even my brother, a true beer aficionado, hadn't heard of Sweetwater. The bottles, oddly, look a great deal like New Belgium Brewing's bottles (NBB is out of CO, I believe). Their Trippel Ale is by far one of my favourites. Another local favourite gone national is Pyramid Brewery, which is now brewing all over but started in Seattle--their Hefeweizen and Apricot Ale were both served at my wedding in lieu of champagne--because at the time, six kegs of either could be had at a bargain price if you picked the kegs up at the brewery itself. Not so much anymore.

FTR, we did have champagne at my wedding...I think that might be where that horrid looking bottle of Moët et Chandon Champagne that I gave Mike a few days ago might've originated. The Champagne survived the wedding...and the marriage. So there's that. Not entirely sure that Mike survived whatever the Champagne may have turned into in the interim years.

Here is a general map showing where Sweetwater is sold. Not everywhere yet but it's growing fast.

Terrapin Beer Company was founded and is brewed in Athens, GA, close to the University of Georgia (a good location for selling beer). The company grew and grew and recently was purchased by MillerCoors, a sweet pay-out to the 2 guys that founded Terrapin.

Microbreweries are growing rapidly in the south but many small municipalities further out from the metro areas still have too much of an old-fashioned Puritanism mindset and won't give out licenses. It depends though. Some small towns are now proving to be very progressive.

I know we had champagne and lots of it at my wedding, and kegs of beer too. But really, I was kind of in a fog. ha I did get up on stage with the band and sing a song to my wife. I remember that.

Sweetwater Beer sold in these locations:

Yelling and yanking the sheets off the bed! My wife and I have broken a bed before. We're both vocal, very loud, and we talk as dirty as it gets to each other during sex. If you can't work up a full-body soaking sweat, even in the air conditioning or dead of an ice cold winter, you aren't fucking.
My wife and I will get each other cards. We may both make a nice dinner at home, as the restaurants are packed out the doors on Valentines Day. Or we might go somewhere very Un-Valentines-Day-like to eat, like The Varsity or out for some real down home country barbecue (not that wimpy city barbecue).
In the spirit of rivalry, I am not drinking Sam Adams Beer (brewed in New England) until after the Super Bowl. Until then I am drinking only Sweetwater Beer or Terrapin Beer (brewed right here in Georgia).

Go Atlanta Falcons beat the New England Patriots!

Cheers, y'all!!!

You should be poised for a world of hurt. And if you go through with this crazy idea, if the results or the child isn't yours, NEVER allow your child to know. That would be cruel. You raised the child as the father. I seriously suggest you let sleeping dogs lie. Leave it alone!

I have a feeling you have a masochistic fetish. Don't force that kind of pain on your child and family.

i used to watch the cartoons. my brother got nightmares from them. i always thought fred and daphne were hooking up.

As a kid I could watch Looney Tunes cartoons all the time and I still can. I'm just a kid at heart. Only now my Yosemite Sam poster is matted and framed.
I looked up Bethany Frasier's police records. Evidently she shot the sheriff but she did not shoot the deputy.

not sure if you're joking but i'll answer anyway: they're the girls in scooby-doo.

I admit I didn't know the character's names in Scooby Doo.
The system is in the course of updating and adding those Famous Story & Legendary Story badges back in. I saw some of my friend's earlier and now my page has just been updated.

Gav has done another outstanding job. These badges, which display the number in each of these categories you've achieved is really awesome. When Gav goes to work on something he really makes it first class.

A big salute to Gav!
Absolutely! Danny has written one of the best if not the steamiest lesbian sex scenario on Lush. You'll squirm with delight!
An evening toast to Rumpy and the gang. I'm having Jack and Coke on the rocks.
Fried chicken, rice & gravy, green beans, grilled corn on the cob, sliced tomatoes, a slice of Vidalia onion, cornbread, and sweet tea.

I don't want tot diminish the awful consequences of prohibition of abortion or the possible reversal of same sex marriage, but isn't war not more dangerous, for its violent nature alone?

War kills people and in mass quantities, yes but that's twisting what I was talking about. However, with Pence's views, I wouldn't doubt that he is very pro-war also. Trump has already mentioned exterminating all terrorists. How does one accomplish that without military escalation?
Sprite is very right about Pence as VP. He is highly intelligent and very political savvy. He has excellent on-camera presence. He has the ear of Trump who will really heavily on him. And Pence has an agenda. Pence believes very strongly in getting his agenda accomplished.

Pence is ultra rightwing. He is strongly anti-LGBT and anti-abortion. He is very pro states rights. Pence absolutely believes abortion should be outlawed all together. He also believes that all advances in gay rights, especially gay marriage should be totally reversed.

If you had the wherewithal to notice, Trump was totally okay with abortion and gay marriage early in his campaign. It was after hooking up with Pence that Trump started leaning the other way, and now he says he is opposed to both.

Pence could be more dangerous than Cheney. With Cheney it was all about enormous profits for his business interests and friends (oil and military supplier & weapons corporations), which was accomplished through war in Iraq.

Oh ok. sorry I didn't understand it that way. So you can't change, or make an amendment, or how your vote is counted or used then?
The electorial, or popularity votes that are counted?

The popular vote in each state elects which candidate that state's electors go to. Then each state (based on population) has a certain number of electoral college votes. Those votes officially elect the president. Most of the time, the candidate that wins the overall national popular vote also gets the most electoral college votes. Every so often it doesn't work out that way.

How is the Constitution amended?
Article V of the Constitution prescribes how an amendment can become a part of the Constitution. While there are two ways, only one has ever been used. All 27 Amendments have been ratified after two-thirds of the House and Senate approve of the proposal and send it to the states for a vote. Then, three-fourths of the states must affirm the proposed Amendment.

The other method of passing an amendment requires a Constitutional Convention to be called by two-thirds of the legislatures of the States. That Convention can propose as many amendments as it deems necessary. Those amendments must be approved by three-fourths of the states.

The actual wording of Article V is: “The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.”

can we have a nazi puncher badge? i mean, not that i need more of a reason to punch nazis, but there are days when i just don't feel the urge as strongly, and that would help motivate me.

A nazi punch & kicker bag is good. Also, nazi shooting targets. And don't forget nazi clay pigeons for skeet shooting.

Is Buz referring to coffee blended with chicory? That particular taste is what I associate with "Southern" and especially "New Orleans" style coffee. New Orleans is easily one of my favourite U.S. cities...and the Café du Monde easily one of the best places in the world to just sit and people-watch. Weirdly, I always think of New Orleans and Louisiana in general in terms of scent--the scent of swamp, of the river, of freesia, of rain, of coffee, of so many other things. New Orleans is blessed with this sort of concentrated mélange of olfactory wonderfulness.

Rump, you may want to consider "mocha" or "caramel" to enhance your female protagonist's description...obviously two very different shades of brown, and I'm sure I can come up with some more, but those are just what I happen to have right now.

ETA: I wish I'd known of the member "papergirl". I wasn't truly active on the site until the Spring of 2014, I don't think, and so it's possible that I missed her entirely. It sounds like she had some wonderful stories. I wonder if she's not gone to another site?

Louisiana coffee is notoriously strong, sometimes thick. I love New Orleans. Of course I'm southern but my favorite southern cities are Savannah, New Orleans, Charleston, Nashville, and Athens. I love Atlanta but its home.

Papergirl/Sitting was an outstanding writer, superior. She wrote one of the best series that was on Lush. Miss her stories.
