My devices and desktop are all working much better this evening than yesterday. The most important technical issues have greatly improved. After playing around, I have decided to run my devices all in 'classic' mode. A few small issues, but it's working

So, how about a Jack and Coke on the rocks, please? Y'all have a great evening.

I have to agree with Buzz. I liked the old format much better. This one is cumbersome. I miss being able to black box more than one person on my friends' list easily. Now I can't do that on the desktop version either without actually going into their profiles which ruins a 3 way, via black boxing (instant messaging). Before the change on my desktop I could hover my mouse over someone's name and I had the drop box options...private message, poke, instant messaging, etc.
When I use my phone now the pictures and words are so large it's distorted. When I tried black boxing (instant messaging) the keyboard on my phone covers what I'm typing in the black box. So for me, using my phone is useless and that was how I was on lush half of the time. It makes lush much less more appealing. I've stopped using my mobile device altogether.

Hi Barb, this link will let you click the box to disable the new style, and get back to the previous 'classic' Lush style. There may still be some issues, but Gav is working on getting them all fixed. It will all probably be smoothed out very soon.

Thanks. I know this is an enormous project.
As Nicola demonstrated previously, go to your site settings, click off on the box that says Disable responsive mobile site, and yours will return to the previous 'classic' Lush site. If that's what you wish to do.

That is working for me on my phone.
My bio page on the phone is okay, though massively important things like stories are now only a link. I am extremely dissapointed in that. Stories are what this place is about. I'd think, we as authors would want our top stories to be prominent and seen by anyone accessing our page.

I absolutely loved our bio pages the way they were. Like Coca-Cola, when it is already great, why change it?

On my desktop computer, my bio page is a mess. Large blank areas, then you finally see something if you scroll down a long way.

Just restoring the desktop site back would be great, with an option to have it for the phone.

But this mobile version is much better than the old one.

no worries. i'll add an option in your settings to revert to the desktop theme.

The current desktop is also changed. Will the regular one be back?
I with all my soul prefer the previous desktop version for my phone mobile, and on my desktop.
The desktop version on my desktop is gone too. When I log in, it is hard to find a way to one's own bio page.

Sorry, but I think this is clunky, difficult, and it's much harder to navigate.

I really hate what has happened to my bio page. Can we not have the bio pages back like they were? We spent a lot of time getting those right.

I think authors want readers and viewers to have easy access to their story list like it was before. That's probably the most important thing.

I vote to bring back the old desktop version. It was awesome! It was a huge reason I came to Lush and the old desktop version is way better than anything else out there.

Things are so much easier to access and organized better on the previous desktop site. This is much more like the competition's sites - why I don't like them.
Some issues:

The links are ultra slow.

Cannot see author's stories on their home page.

No home page.

And yes, l personally prefer access to the regular desktop version for my phone and mobile devices.
I really want to access the desktop version on my phone and devices. Please, please say that is still possible.

There are a few scenes (like this first one) which are simply hilarious. I'd never have thought that these two guys would compliment one another as well as they do.

Not a waste of time for some comedy.

I enjoyed that one. They did work well together.

I saw 1917. It was really excellent.

This is probably a thread unto itself, but that raises the question of whether a democratic system is really the "best" in an absolute sense, or only best for a particular culture in a particular time and place. I am not convinced you could ever have a system like the US system in China, for instance. More likely, a democratic China would resemble Singapore, with there still being a fairly strong, centralized administration even if people had more say in the choosing that administration. They also don't view individual rights as we do. They recognize that the individual is sometimes served best by a strong, cohesive society rather than as an island unto themselves. They are also very much concerned with order and the kind of disorder and rancour you see in many Western countries these days is very much not what most Chinese want (even some here in the West like my wife).

Example from the Covid crisis:

Long before our government actually started quarantining travellers coming from China, Chinese people were actually quarantining themselves when they came back with support from their communities. When the government told them it was unnecessary, they were offended. They believed they were doing what was best for Canada, that the country mattered more than their "freedom".

The upshot is that I no longer advocate a Western-style democracy for China. They need to find what works for them culturally and do that. If the current system that is largely the work of Deng Xiaopeng and his successors is working for most of them, we need to live and work with that, not try to change it.

You make a very good point and I agree. The USA and other western powers too often have butted in to other countries' affairs in the effort to establish a western style democracy, when those cultures were not and are not ready for such, and aren't suited for western democracy.

We certainly should've avoided the Vietnam War, the recent Iraq War, and others. Those were very costly mistakes. The stupid Iraq War left a dangerously militant, and volatile region destabilized, and much worse off than it was before. And much more dangerous for the world in general. Let other cultures sort it out for themselves.

The enormous amount of money such wars cost would've been much better spent improving infrastructure at home, public education, and public healthcare.

I would love to see China establish a democracy, but it would need to be their unique democracy. And I think you're right, it would more resemble Singapore.
In a local diner a few weeks ago just before the city shut down 'dine in' for the Coronavirus. At that time a lot of establishments were already getting concerned seeing what was happening elsewhere and had begun taking measures themselves. Cities, towns, and counties nearly all acted well before our doofus governor.

Anyhow, I had a slawburger, home cut fries, and sweet tea.

Your chiropractor looks at your x-ray and says, "Oh yes, you've obviously had a series of continual orgasms. It will take years of therapy and adjustments to align your spine correctly. In the meantime, you're gonna have to quit having sex."

You seem rather annoyed and I'm not sure why. I merely responded to the argument that stories, forum posts, etc. would be lost if inactive accounts were deleted by stating that there are many accounts that do not have any of those.

There are a lot of more pressing and important issues to deal with rather than have Gav spend the overwhelming amount of time searching for and deleting accounts that have never voted, commented, submitted a story, nor logged in recently, etc. That is not a priority at this time. If it becomes some kind of a technical issue, I'm sure it will be addressed. In the meantime, ghost accounts aren't breaking TOS, spamming, harassing other members, trolling, or causing relevant issues.

The way some of the questions are phrased can lead you to give an answer that is not a true reflection of your actual stance. For ecample:

The question, A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system.

I strongly agreed with that statement because it is true. But that is not to say I in any way wish to live under a dictatorship or think one would be preferable to democracy.

There were a couple of others that I thought were true but not necessarily right

I agree with what you said about the questions.

But that particular question: A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system.

...a one-party state is the arch-enemy to democracy in my opinion.

Cuckolding being a one-way street? I don't know about that. I think it might be more like a tag team wrestling match, a NASCAR race, and a rodeo, all in one.

Improvements to the site - I'd love for old profiles over a year in absent being removed from the site. What's the point of having their forum answers/profiles still part of the people that are still here.

A lot of members are for keeping those profiles for various reasons. Once a profile is removed, so is their story votes and comments on authors' stories.

Also, the stories they wrote and published were obviously left on Lushstories for posterity and future readers to enjoy. We ARE primarily an erotic story site.

If the member had wanted their stories, votes, comments, and posts removed, they would have deleted their account.

Many members take a long hiatus and then come back. We want to leave their hard work intact and welcome them back.
Well, I didn't get up and go to a breakfast buffet this morning. haha

Drinking hot black coffee, but it's getting time for a cold Bloody Mary. Maybe three or four. Hopefully it warms up today. it had been very warm, actually hot and sunny for over a week. Then it was cold and sunny yesterday, too cold for a dip in the pool.

I'm going crazy not getting to hang out with friends. My wife is going stir crazy. She's started trying to pull pranks on me.

While I was in a deep sleep she very carefully eased a pair of cowboy boots onto my feet. I have no idea how she did that without waking me up. So, I woke up this morning with a pair a damn cowboy boots on my feet. Totally freaked me out! She's been laughing hysterically for over an hour.

So, I hope y'all have as good a day as possible with this shut in thing. And pray this COVID-19 starts a sharp downward turn. All the people who've lost loved ones is tragic and heartbreaking.

If it's sunny where you are, get out in the yard if you have one, if not, hang out on your patio or balcony.

Cheers Y'all!

Soooo... if I write a story about a girl having sex with Mister Ed, it's okay?

Did Mister Ed ever get to leave that stall?

Congratulations, Trinity! And a great big THANKS for the great job you do!

Before my time, but l know who Frank Zappa and The Mothers were. They gave good advice such as "don't eat the yellow snow".

Can't wait for Sprite's, obviously, autobiographil story.

Rumpy, l'd like an ice cold lager beer with a rum chaser, please. Then a few more of the same.

Cheers Y'all!
