We don't need those in the deep south. We can go nekkid most of the year. And do. I'm nekkid now.
Thanks for doing a great job, Mags. Congratulations!

Having a glass of Maker's Mark on ice. Fine Kentucky bourbon, it's a smooth, sweet bourbon taste.

I'm looking forward to someday not having to work at least 10 hours and most often even more than that every day.

Y'all have a drink with me.
I've never had 'stuffed ribs'. How are they prepared?
Unfortunately in the real world, writing sexually explicit stories can be a career ender in many fields. In that case, some of us can be ourselves but under another name. My wife knows and that's it. Though I've met people in my real 3D world who say they love reading Lush. If I ask them who their favorite author is and they don't say Buz, I make them disappear. Oh, I'm just teasing... or am I?

Melatonin, an over the counter remedy. Or red wine. I like cabernet sauvignon. A small glass about 20-30 minutes before you hop in the sack.
Bill, you'll understand when I say, The Kingdom was built by a Bear.

You'd like our 'Beat Those Cocks' cheer when South Carolina comes to Athens. It's yelled loudly in unison by the students who do a certain wrist/hand motion as they yell. Watching the hot sorority girls do it is most amusing. And they yell real loud.
I've been bitten and scratched.

Have you ever had your anus bitten?

BUZ ALERT!

The 'Linebacker's' Georgia Bulldogs laid a serious whipping on Vanderbilt. Combine that with my LSU Tigers upsetting UGA's only serious division rival, nationally ranked Florida in the Gators Homecoming game (chortle), and things would seem to be going the Dawgs way...right now. Anyway, Rumplators are hereby advised to take cover should he start heading your way.

Anybody else out there need a drink to either celebrate or forget?

I'm Back! My wife and I with 2 other couples went to Nashville for the game against Vandy. They did put a beating on those 'Dores, 45-14.

We did the whole weekend. I highly recommend Nashville as a place to visit. There is way more great live music venues than you can see in a weekend or a week, and great restaurants. We did quite a bit of country dancing.

Over 36,000 Dawg fans took over Vanderbilt's little 42,000 seat stadium. It's a home away from home for us, since you can even do the game as a day trip, if it's an early game, as it was Saturday. But making a weekend in Nashville is great.

We got back to the hotel room to see the last part of that LSU-Florida game. I saw Bill's Tigers hang on to beat those Gators in their own Swamp. That had to be a nail-biter for all involved. 17-16.

My Dawgs get a visit from Mizzou next Saturday night in Athens, Georgia, Between The Hedges. Go Dawgs!

Everyone have a drink on me. I'm having bourbon on ice.

*****

Bill, should we tell 'em what all Between the Hedges, The Swamp, Death Valley, The Kingdom, The Cockpit, The Barn, and etc. stand for?

And terms like Geaux Tigers? Ole Miss? The Grove? Mizzou? Sooey? And why everyone hates Rocky Top except the Rocky Tops? And why they might see some folks holding a box of Tide with a toilet plunger through it and toilet paper on the top? And one I know Rumpy really likes, why young hottie coeds at a certain institution
down by the bayou, wear tiger tails sticking out the back of their skin tight jeans. And why we hate cowbells?

Throughout the 1800s, rich politicians gained votes by:

a) Convincing the poor white voters (when they were allowed to vote) that the politicians were "just like them." They would regale voters of tales of how they grew up in a log cabin, ply them with free whiskey and dress down to seem more "down to earth."

For instance, Abraham Lincoln, born in a log cabin and supposed to be a country lawyer, was actually a very rich corporate attorney. He was highly successful representing the big railroads. George Washington set up a free whiskey booth not far from the polling place. That was actually pre-American Revolution when he ran for elections in colonial Virginia, but the practice was common and continued for several decades into US history. And over 90% the poor guys dying on battlefields for rich slave owners did not own slaves.

I can say that discovering much my family history in America, which started in the 1600s, is a slow rise up from white trash. I am one-quarter Cherokee because so many of the British immigrant men I descend from, living on the frontier, scraping out an existence in the southern Appalachians, married Cherokee women as there were no British women available and it garnered goodwill with the Cherokee. Obviously, my Cherokee ancestry was here a lot longer. smile

One side of my family slowly rose up through education, working as tutors, teachers, professors and few ministers. The other side rose through a combination of education, business, and propelling into politics. They all started poor.

The southern states during the first nearly 100 years (and after really) pushed a propaganda of state loyalty over federal loyalty. That actually existed in the northern states in the beginning but the federalist ideas of government grew faster there. You can see this in historical documentation and newspapers throughout the early decades. You'd most often see it written 'the united States of America'. In northern states that version had crept out of use by the Civil War but not in the south. The end of the Civil war was the end of seeing the USA referred in that manner. The 'states rights' does pop up again and again, mostly used by the far right now, but used to be to suppress Black rights during segregation and the civil rights movement.
Next time when Rumpy posts an awesome story like he did in this competition, I think we should all post 'Rumpiliscicious with two thumbs up!'
I forgot to respond to this. Donated.

Puerto Rico was truly devasted, as well as the US Virgin Islands. All those people are US citizens that need help really bad. But also several other islands, some of which are tiny independent nations. So once you are in a giving mood, look them all up and send something if you are able to.
I got in a read, vote, and comment for everyone on my friends list that entered the comp as of Thursday a.m. Man my eyes are tired today. There are so many truly awesome stories in this Bookish Competition. Quality-wise it looks like a huge success. There is a lot of stories entered also. Bravo!

I'll need hot black coffee for much of the day today. Ugh!
It's the last day to get in a read and vote to help the authors meet the minimum to be entered in the competition. There are many awesome stories, even coming in very late. I urge y'all to check them out.
I read my ass off to get in comp stories before the deadline. There are a lot of really great stories in this comp. It's a tight one.

Good Luck, Y'all.

I had a rum and Coke and about to go nod off.
I always read, comment, and vote on all on my friends list' stories in the comps. But with so many coming in a short period of time at the end, I probably can't do that before the deadline. I'll try but it looks overwhelming.
Country steak and gravy over rice, fried okra, green beans, corn, a jelly biscuit, and sweet tea.
Congratulations to Fuzzyblue on the EP. And as a Lush reader, I say thanks for blessing us with an awesome story.
This is very sad news. Tom Petty is one of the all-time great rock-n-rollers. He came from Gainesville, Florida. That is a university town, and college towns like that have spawned many great rockers. Tom Petty was a rock giant.

Tom Petty will be greatly missed. Sure wished he'd had a much longer life.

Just to let you know, we've reached our quota on Canadians so I've been asked to inform you that any new Canadians applying for membership will cause automatic deletion of a current random Canadian member (LYFBUZ). Thanks for being understanding.

If you read LYFBUZ's story backwards you'll uncover the Canadian plot for world domination.

I have plenty of t-shirts, shirts, henleys, hoodies, sweaters in dark/khaki green.

I'm with you on the 'military' green as I've got a lot of that too. And alluding to the red power tie. Has anyone overdone that more than Donald Trump? Damn, he should give that a rest. Wasn't that the thing in the 80s?
I do have to wear suits for work. In my profession, if someone showed up in a hipster, tight, Pee Wee Herman suit, they'd be thought of as a joke. What is the deal with the high water pants? As we'd ask in school if someone's pants were too short, "Are you expecting a flood?"

I wouldn't do a green suit but I do have a solid green tie. It doesn't get worn a lot, St. Patrick's Day for sure it does, and every now and then. I do like solid black suits but for everyday prefer shades of gray.

Women seem to love us guys in a well-tailored suit, crisp shirt, and a nice tie. While we like them in tight attire that shows a lot of skin, cleavage, and legs, women see us differently. They often think we're very sexy in a nice suit.

I don't think a guy can wear those tight hipster suits unless he is skinny and has a wee little pecker and balls. Those tight things have to be very uncomfortable.

But green? I like that shade of green on the tie in your picture. It probably does work best subdued, no more than a tie. A green polo style shirt would be fine for casual I think.

Around where I live, if I wore a green blazer my friends would laugh and ask if I thought I'd won The Masters.

If I wear something I shouldn't, my wife corrects me right away.
It would be seriously doubtful that deleting Tweets would ever lead to the impeachment of a president. But if it were just something to include showing a pattern along with much more serious issues then it could be a small factor.

Most likely future presidents will leave Twitter accounts under the control of their public relations staff to influence their agenda in a non-aggressive positive way.

Southern membership just dropped by 37%

You better be talking about southern Manhattan or somewhere. Cause this thread has quite a lot of Southerners like me, also this thread's founder, Rumpy (Bill).
I have to tell y'all, Buz is damn well buzzed. Been drinkin' and having a great time. Big football game watching party, mostly centered on our game, Georgia vs. Tennessee, the first of our 5 huge rivalry games. The Dawgs went up to Knoxville, Tennesse to take on the Vols in their enormous Neyland Stadium. The Tennesse fans are notoriously loud, only surpassed by Rumpy's LSU Tiger fans in all of college football. I just wanted the Dawgs to win and win by any score possible up there because the Vols are historically very hard to beat in their own stadium with 102,000 screaming fans.

WOW! What happened was awesome! My Dawgs kicked their ass, gave them an old-fashioned butt whipping by the whopping score of 41-0. Yes! Tennessee scored exactly NOTHING! Because the Dawgs' defense totally dominated them. The Dawgs gave them a total beat down. Total destruction of a bitter rival is beautiful! Like this picture from today's game...

This is what it looked like when my Dawgs had the ball...

The last time we held Tennessee scoreless at their stadium was 1917. This sure was sweet!!!

I am having a lot more of what I've been having Jack Daniels, ice cold beers, and Jaegermeister chasers. Have a drink with me.
