When I turn on my personal laptop later, I'll check how I have that first one laid out. Lol, titles always kick my ass.

To my surprise, I am actually editing a short one I drafted earlier this year. I didn't want to just publish single stories again and rather batches, but screw that for now. I haven't published since early June, so my readers will be somewhat relieved I am still alive.
I finished editing the story and now I can't come up with a fucking title 🤣🤣.
I have depression and don't deal with it well, I admit. It absolutely has affected my writing negatively. This will be my least prolific year publishing by far.
I used to feel a way about my stories not getting great scores, because the effort put in didn't seem worth it at times. Now I am in-between when it comes to that.
So many ideas form in my head, but I just jot the premise in my notes and hardly get to drafting because it's a matter sometimes of, "Dawg, who gives a shit?" and other such negativity that pops up.
As a quick aside, it could explain why some of my stories published within the last year had more grim consequences in them. So can't say the Super Saiyan depression didn't do something for me.

I would highly advise against it, even with our bookmarks feature. Many may bookmark and not return for a story that length, if they even remember. More likely to remember with the 10K word maximum we have now.
Doing it serially would be more beneficial for writers. Readers see someone releasing consistently and look forward to it.

Everything has a reason behind it. Everything, no matter how small. As I told Nisha over PM, this genre is made for internal conflict. The way most of us came up causes some hang up with sex or another.
Look at your TV shows, movies and novels. Before the action goes down, there is a reason for it. The conflict is internal or external. Can be both. What are obstacles that can possibly get in the way and what are the ways around them? I am trying to get better at these things myself as i find the topic of story so fascinating. Good writing can make almost anything enjoyable to consume.
Whiplash was about a fucking drummer trying to make it. You give a fuck about drumming? Probably not. You gave a fuck about dude's passion and the obstacle in his way - JK Simmons' character.
I still feel like I am learning myself, but yes it is way more satisfying to pen something with decent story, characters, conflict and a resolution. I don't consider myself any master or even intermediate, but I have been trying a little more as of late.
Read many novels, watch TV and movies along with YouTube videos giving instruction on writing. Passive learning comes from the novels/TV/movies consumption. You learn why you like something like say, Conflicts into another conflict into another.

Im new to writing in the depths of lush a few poems and stories so far. I want any opinions on story length and depth of detail... i like my flash erotica quick and easy to produce... but i want to start branching into series with 6-8k words per chapter... im worried they might be to detailed or too long for people to enjoy ... please any help would be lovely
Depends on your goals. You want to attract more readers, then go with sub 4000, hell even sub 3000 words.
6-8K chapters are fine, once you accept that you will attract less readership generally.
Good morning everyone,
Converse with your friends. Make sure they're okay. You never know, ya know? People are scared to be open and vulnerable but they're really hurting inside. May be feeling purposeless unbeknownst to you. Please don't dismiss them by saying they're feeling sorry for themselves or such nonsense. It's depression and it's valid. Anyway, not quite sure why I said all of that.

Nope. A healthy imagination can write great erotica, too, C!
Or unhealthy! I think that guy that wrote Fucked In The Head may need a psych evaluation 😈😈.
All jokes aside, experience+imagination+reading the work of others+taking practical elements of porn can create great results.
Reading regular fiction as well as watching it. Getting a better understanding of how story works passively via that along with watching some YouTube videos for advice. If you've never had a threesome in real life, you can "common sense" your way into writing something practical. But above all else, fiction always involves a dash of dramatic seasoning that may veer a little from reality, but it's fiction at the end of the day. Superman flying at top speed to catch someone would shatter their skeleton in real life.
My eyes haven't unbugged 😳. Sweet cream on an ice cream sammich!
I'm in shock. Little lost for words here. Thank you so much.
Also, the writers here are awesome and really turn it up when competition time comes around. Writing can be cruel, but when it's rewarding, it's beauty knows no bounds. Thank you all once again!
