I would highly advise against it, even with our bookmarks feature. Many may bookmark and not return for a story that length, if they even remember. More likely to remember with the 10K word maximum we have now.

Doing it serially would be more beneficial for writers. Readers see someone releasing consistently and look forward to it.

Been a minute since I popped in. Hope everyone's good and had a decent weekend.

Congrats to the top ten. I have been a bad boy, 'cause I haven't done any reading at all. Will have to correct that.

btw, today is MY birthday if anyone is curious, lol

Happy birthday, fellow September born!

The cat with the toy reminds me of the old Street Fighter 2 bonus stages with the car and barrels.

Cooked two and a half cups of rice with lentil peas a few days back. Before that I fried a whole chicken I cut into 15 pieces.

Pair of all black sneakers for the gym and a jump starter power pack.

Hey everyone,

The thought of writing sex makes me groan now. Not in the testiculuar/prostate relieving way either. A comp idea popped into my head last night, but identifying with intimacy is very difficult for me now. We'll see. Hope everyone is well.

Everything has a reason behind it. Everything, no matter how small. As I told Nisha over PM, this genre is made for internal conflict. The way most of us came up causes some hang up with sex or another.

Look at your TV shows, movies and novels. Before the action goes down, there is a reason for it. The conflict is internal or external. Can be both. What are obstacles that can possibly get in the way and what are the ways around them? I am trying to get better at these things myself as i find the topic of story so fascinating. Good writing can make almost anything enjoyable to consume.

Whiplash was about a fucking drummer trying to make it. You give a fuck about drumming? Probably not. You gave a fuck about dude's passion and the obstacle in his way - JK Simmons' character.

I still feel like I am learning myself, but yes it is way more satisfying to pen something with decent story, characters, conflict and a resolution. I don't consider myself any master or even intermediate, but I have been trying a little more as of late.

Read many novels, watch TV and movies along with YouTube videos giving instruction on writing. Passive learning comes from the novels/TV/movies consumption. You learn why you like something like say, Conflicts into another conflict into another.

Im new to writing in the depths of lush a few poems and stories so far. I want any opinions on story length and depth of detail... i like my flash erotica quick and easy to produce... but i want to start branching into series with 6-8k words per chapter... im worried they might be to detailed or too long for people to enjoy ... please any help would be lovely

Depends on your goals. You want to attract more readers, then go with sub 4000, hell even sub 3000 words.

6-8K chapters are fine, once you accept that you will attract less readership generally.

Latto looks like she tastes good as hell. Love being between a pair of thick ass thighs.

Good morning everyone,

Converse with your friends. Make sure they're okay. You never know, ya know? People are scared to be open and vulnerable but they're really hurting inside. May be feeling purposeless unbeknownst to you. Please don't dismiss them by saying they're feeling sorry for themselves or such nonsense. It's depression and it's valid. Anyway, not quite sure why I said all of that.

Nope. A healthy imagination can write great erotica, too, C! smile

Or unhealthy! I think that guy that wrote Fucked In The Head may need a psych evaluation 😈😈.

All jokes aside, experience+imagination+reading the work of others+taking practical elements of porn can create great results.

Reading regular fiction as well as watching it. Getting a better understanding of how story works passively via that along with watching some YouTube videos for advice. If you've never had a threesome in real life, you can "common sense" your way into writing something practical. But above all else, fiction always involves a dash of dramatic seasoning that may veer a little from reality, but it's fiction at the end of the day. Superman flying at top speed to catch someone would shatter their skeleton in real life.

Experience is a must to write credible erotica, in my humble opinion.

Ah Goddammit.

Alright, time to pack it up. See you, everyone 👋.

My eyes haven't unbugged 😳. Sweet cream on an ice cream sammich!

I'm in shock. Little lost for words here. Thank you so much.

Also, the writers here are awesome and really turn it up when competition time comes around. Writing can be cruel, but when it's rewarding, it's beauty knows no bounds. Thank you all once again!

I definitely hope more writers jump into this thread, because seeing the different approaches is inspiring. We're all so unique, yet tied together by this single hobby. I think we can all agree on one thing: editing is a pain 😆.

Okay, so here's my process:

Initial draft.

At a future date(it varies), I read it over and look for logic and plot holes. I note them. Another day, I use to fill in said holes I find.

I read through to correct redundancies, correct sentences that don't sound right. This trims a lot of fat. I do two passes of this and it can take days.

I run my story through a website that provides the top twenty words, two-word and three-word phrases. When I reduce the frequency of those to a respectable amount I move to the next step.

I read it over again, then run through Grammarly to help with anything important I miss. Reading it all over one more time is optional since Grammarly mostly is for comma stuff and hyphens nowadays.

Submit the story at my convenience.

Time from drafting to the final product varies. Last story I published, I drafted that in November 2023. In fact, two stories published in May were drafted in 2023. Only story of my last four published that was drafted this year was the comp story.

Dropped my first teen story this week. Not sure how much closer that gets me to the Prolific badge. Will have to check.

Giving a neighbour's granddaughter a ride isn't a problem. The granddaughter being massively horny for you, however, just might be.

Yeah, why not. I don't talk to anyone regularly, but if opportunity arose 🤷🏾‍♂️.
