HEY! That's not fair! Announcing the winner even before the competition has started! I think that competitor should be disqualified on the grounds of favouritism.

p.s. ok if you read this, please come take a look at my profile.. biggrin

I don't know why I'm laughing at this thread, this is some funny shit! HAHA

I don't have a method. I just throw the toilet paper roll on - whether it's over or under is totally up to chance. I'm always surprised that people care one way or another (well, I guess the cat thing is a legit reason).

I'm also a hyper-meticulous - probably a triple or quad wiper. Often I'll finish with a cleansing hygiene wipe too for that sparkling fresh feel.

Always! I always use a cleansing wipe. I carry them with me wherever I go.

My major pet peeve (way more than toilet seats left up) are men who don't replace toilet paper on the roll. I HATE this. Even worse when I don't live there and have to go searching under the sink or asking for toilet paper because it's gone. Keep it up for the guests in your bathrooms, boys... Don't make me use your bathtowel.

I've been known to do this and I am not ashamed of this fact. If you don't like it, too damn bad, have the paper handy.
Ok, I'm going to answer this one. Let's face it, women won out on the good looking body thing, but I can appreciate a good circumcised penis. Sorry, but uncircumcised is not something I've seen in person and I can't say that I want to.
That I really fuck him to death...seriously. He has a heart attack and dies, it happened to a friend of mine.
I don't know if this issue is a bug or maybe it just hasn't been coded, but when viewing the timeline it states that so and so has quoted you in the forum topic . Nothing is listed, a minor thing but I wanted to let it be known.

1) Podcast directories, like podcasts.com, are great places to get free links back to lushstories.com. We submitted our podcast RSS feed to a number of such directories, about 5 years ago. It's a good way to get free traffic.

Those directories, are meant to give full credit to the narrator, ie, a full link back to the page, from which the audio was taken.

The above is why I said this: This is a guide that we use to try to keep our content here or at least have them honestly contact Nicola for permission to link.
Alright gang, here we go. But like Liz has said, this is a very long and tedious process but if enough of us do it, maybe we will get results.

This is a guide that we use to try to keep our content here or at least have them honestly contact Nicola for permission to link. Good luck, if you undertake this project to get your intellectual property removed please keep us posted on your progress.

a) check their whois details - go to http://www.whois.com/whois/armyslags.com

b) write to every one of the email addresses you find on there (may be one or many), entitling the message DMCA Takedown Notice - Stories Stolen From Lushstories.com (or words to that effect), demand that all our content is removed immediately. Failure to comply will result in legal action being taken against them.

c) write to their host / registrar (often 2 different companies, easy to figure out from the whois) - it looks like armyslags.com use NAMESECURE.COM only. Find a report abuse link or contact us one. Show lots of examples of where they appear on both sites. Make sure the stories have appeared on lush first!

d) go to google and file a DMCA notice, put as many examples of stolen pages as you can on there: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/dmca-notice?pli=1&

If you are unsure a site is stealing content, post in these forums to check.

I wouldn't go hunting for sites that are stealing our content, you'll probably find there are hundreds of them. The same goes for any other large story site, there's no way to stop these thieves.

Adding a line to the bottom of each story may help a little:

This story is © *Membername*. If you are reading it anywhere other than Lushstories.com with this note attached, it has been posted without the author's permission.
I'll post something here that can help. As many of us that take action, the better. Please give me a few minutes to gather the information.

Sadly, I thought that would be the case, and I will not leave that unanswered.

I have been vocal in both my dislike of a picture and my extreme happiness in my work even being thought it was worth it. I don't doubt that there is venting being done by folks about "jokingly" wanting to remove said awards. That's fine., do as you please.

But as I have said before, and I will say again, this is NOT personal, and it is NOT people saying the award is crap. People moan about the statues and trophy designs for big award events the world over. Why should Lush be any less important?! They can be grateful and pleased with the recognition, and still not like the marker for it.

Please, moderators, please try to see this from the angles in which this thread was made. It was not started on a mission to diss the moderator team/members, nor was it to belittle what we feel is a huge recognition. It was about something that aesthetically was not pleasing to some eyes.

If the Recommended Read award is given at the whim of whether somebody finds an author's forum posts regarding a colour/form/size of something ungracious or not, or removed because of it, then where does that leave us?

This is not personal or ungracious towards the award or the givers of it. I fully expect the symbol to remain in its design. I would expect nothing less. But it doesn't stop me having my opinion on it. Again, I am extremely grateful and still a bit unsure as to how I was so recognised. But because I gave a negative opinion on something I don't like the look of, should I now stop striving to better my writing?

Should I see the mods as people who give and judge by a person's posts and opinions, rather than their writing? Just as you judge us by our posts regarding a small blue badge, so authors judge mods by their posts regarding how awards are made. I am sad that the moderators feel under personal attack. That is NOT what this is.

I will get used to the blue tick, just as I knew I would have to. I had a vent. It's a blue tick; I didn't like the way it looked; I'll get over it.

But I will not get used to people thinking they are personally under attack and striking out because of it, when they are not. I will not get used to the fact I stated it was an honour to have the award. It isn't about the award. It's about a white tick on a blue box that nobody will think looks odd when it's been there a while.

You react as you wish, and I will sadly draw my own conclusions. This was NOT an "us and them" situation (at least for me). But it feels like it now. And it's a very sad day. I have known both sides of the fence, and this is horrible, because it was never about awards and how they are given (or not, as you have clearly implied). It's about a white tick on a blue box.

Shylass, I will reply to you via PM as I have said that I am done with a matter that I find so very trivial. However, you've said some things here that I'd like to discuss with you privately.

My suggestions:

1. Workplace Stories
2. Sci-Fi
3. Humour

(Also, it would be nice if you could have a "Non-English" category as well. Do you think it's possible?)

The categories are primarily based on sexual activity not settings. What you're speaking about, particularly 'workplace stories' is a setting, the sex that takes place in the workplace would dictate the category. SciFi stories are currently accepted under the Supernatural category. As for humor, we're talking about something that can be incorporated into any category that is available now.

It would be near impossible to incorporate a Non English category as it would entail having a person that is fluent in every language in the world to verify each submission. That is a bit unrealistic. (Spanish speakers may venture over to http://www.historiaslush.com/)
Personally, I don't think there needs to be any additional categories. The only addition that I think would benefit a few writers here is a musings or love letters category.
Hug first, then maybe... Have you read her newest poem? Hmmm...
Introduce the title of your story: Stranger Relations
Genre/Category: Hardcore
Provide the link: http://www.lushstories.com/stories/hardcore/stranger-relations.aspx

1. What first inspired you to write this particular story?
Quite honestly, a porn vid that I saw some time ago. LOL

2. How did you come up with these characters?
The female character, who remains unnamed in the story, is based on a combination of two of my friends. Her characteristics evolved over the time it took me to develop this story, which had been set on the back burner for awhile now. It's one of those abandoned stories that some authors speak about.

3. How does it differ from some of your other stories?
I try to strive for different things when I write. In this story I wanted to write about a dirty game between characters that thought they had a strong connection but the game they chose to play tested the relationship...perhaps too much.

4. What was the most challenging thing about writing this piece?
Picking it up after being away from the story for months. I've had part of this story written for at least five months, but abandoned it when I couldn't get it to flow the way I thought it should. I finished the rough draft right before the contest was announced and thought 'perfect timing'! I dusted it off and brushed up on the central character a bit and now I have a complete story.

5. Anything else you want to tell us about it?
The sex is raw, I had to tone it down from the original version to fit Lush guidelines. If hardcore ain't your thing, don't read it--though I really want you to!

Dumb people shouldn't be allowed access to the interwebs.

I have to say, even after seeing Iron Man 3, I loved Lincoln. But I am a bit of a nerd...

I will have to see Gatsby and the new Star Trek and update this later.

How long do the stories have to be to be published? I'm not sure I have what it takes to write a long story that also keeps people interested but I would definitely be interested in learning more about the process!

Thanks!

Brooke, you could do it as I'm doing mine. Write in chapters, give yourself time. I've written the first 3500 words, and have the second scheduled for the summer etc... It's less overwhelming that way and it gives you time to let the story stew in your mind. Just be sure to develop a thorough outline and it should work just fine.
