The elusive Neon Pink Squirrel. Uncommon yet eye-catching, flexible and nimble, and just a little bit nutty.

Ultra hardworking and efficient, and she really is the sweetest. Congrats, Candy! smile
Some of my fave writers on the site claimed top spots! A big congrats to the winners, as well as the top ten and everyone that wasn't afraid of getting dirty with this comp theme. smile
I also thought there was trouble in Poland and this was the Think Tank. LOL

Anyway... what brand/kind of clear polish did you use? Is it possible you used a base coat rather than a top coat? That would account for the rough finish, because base coats (while also clear) usually have a rougher/sticky finish meant to help regular coloured polish grip onto the nail plate.

Otherwise, you may have ended up with an old bottle of clear polish or it might be that the brand doesn't provide that thick gel-like glossy finish (like a coat of Seche Vite would give you). Some brands (esp ones that claim to be gentler on the nails, 2-in-1 base/top coats, vegan, more natural) are thinner and don't have the ability to even out any natural bumps or ridges on your natural nail.

My teens and 20's were Portishead heavy. I could listen to Glory Box, the original or one of the many live versions anytime and it's still just as riveting. When I finally saw her sing live, I was in awe. Beth Gibbons is raw, real, and legit sexy.

I rarely wear red (if anyone posts a thread on the best nudes though, I'm there!)... but I came across a really gorgeous red this year, kind of by accident. Sephora added it to my spring sale box for being awesome (ie. spending too much money). But you mentioned wanting a red gloss, so this might be one to consider because I'm really enjoying it, despite being a non-red kind of girl.

It's YSL Vinyl Cream Lip Stain in 401 Rouge Vinyle. I think it has a balance of cool/warm tones, so it should work well with most skin tones.

The cream part totally moisturizes the lips, the pigment is insanely rich, and the gloss aspect gives it that patent shine. It also lasts forever and when it does fade down to a stain, you can even add a clear gloss or lip oil over it and it still looks great.

Here it is on Cara Delevingne:

these aren't my favorite perfume (i don't really have one) but they are my favorite bottles. the backs are hand painted and they look like mini works of art on my vanity.

I have some of these in the small 'coffret' size as well. Paradise is my fave of these.

I also have a full bottle of Passiflora (I think that one might be discontinued now). Beautiful bottles!
I got Sun Saint recently as a gift and I'm really enjoying it. It's my first time trying a Pinrose fragrance. It has a smooth beachy vibe to it, and the lime and eucalyptus perks up the sweetness of the coconut and sandalwood. It's a great summer scent.

** Top notes are eucalyptus, lime, mandarin orange and yuzu; middle notes are sea salt, cashmere musk and violet; base notes are sandalwood and coconut.

I'm not sure we should say voluntary these days shouldn't we say recreational drug use.

We could, I was just rolling with the language used in the OP's question - 'involuntary drug use', 'voluntarily taking Ecstasy' etc. smile

I dont think Lush allows that.

We do. I've written several myself.

I think voluntary drug use in stories should be mandatory.

And also while reading them.
I love pineapple on pizza.

Roma tomatoes, pineapple and green pepper on a thin crust is a typical topping list for me if I'm not going for a Margherita or whole grain pesto and spinach type pizza.

Someone mentioned fig and I'd be all over that too if I came across it on a menu.

I don't do meat (unless it's dick).

Since when is a thread title irrelevant? It may be helpful under a prescribed/medical situation but it's not the same as lighting a joint of your own accord smoking whatever kind of pot it is you Can buy on the street. Do you want people using recreational drugs as self medication thinking they are helping themselves when they could be making themselves feel worse?

Marijuana has been linked to schizophrenia and it is a fact that it can worsen symptoms.

Yes if someone is going to tell people (especially someone they know has anxiety problems) that marijuana can be helpful for depression/anxiety then I think they are an idiot.

EDIT: it would be more responsible to say "medical marijuana" to avoid the assumption of them meaning to just pack a bowl.

LOL.. Dude, relax, I'm not trying to fight with you - I'm trying to provide info to someone who asked about marijuana being used for a medical health issue. You dismissed the whole thing with broad condemnation (ie. "whoever said this is an idiot"). I think this is faulty logic and am showing that it is being used as legit medical treatment for this particular condition.

You will also notice that I clearly stated that the strain genetics and THC % is key when looking at treating a specific health condition in my original post. Did I say go buy some unknown shit from a street dealer and find an easy cure? No. Did I say "pack a bowl" or was I not clear that I was talking about medical marijuana in my post? Aside from the screen shots from a medical clinic, how many times did I need to say "medical" for it to be clear and 'responsible'? More than the 3 times I did? Come on. Don't put words in my mouth. Good grief.

The thread is called "Recreational drugs". I was referring to it in that capacity and I wasn't referring to a controlled, medical marijuana.

Your statement/advice was "Whoever told you it's helpful for depression/anxiety is an idiot."

That statement is clearly wrong. She was asking about marijuana as it relates to a specific health issue (not recreational fun) so the thread title is irrelevant. I just hate misinformation on this topic.

Whoever told you it's helpful for depression/anxiety is an idiot. Especially stay away from rec drugs if you are on any type of mental health/anxiety medications.

Wrong info. Where I live (Canada), it can indeed be medically prescribed for depression and anxiety. Medically supervised treatment plans and legally grown. The key is knowing strains and THC% if you're treating for a specific condition.

Example:

From a well established, state-of-the-art chronic pain medical marijuana clinic:

Their eligibility drop-down menu does include depression:

Sample strain from a licensed provider:

The girl can write and she's a fantastic person as well. The kind you want to have a java with and BFF it up, or enjoy an evening of serious vodka and stilettos. Love her! She's definitely one to watch. Congrats! smile
Oh wow... thanks, everyone! I almost never check numbers, but yeah... now that you mention it, this is indeed pretty sweet!

Interestingly, Hard Candy was written and posted in around 3 days - one of my shortest turnaround times. It was, however, started (first paragraph or two) and shelved for about a year before I returned to it. Sometimes there are hidden gems in the 'maybe' pile.

Thanks again for making it popular!

And, of course, lollies for everyone... smile

I watched Van Sant's The Sea of Trees over the weekend on a rainy afternoon. It has so many unanimously horrible reviews, I never really thought much of watching it, but I really enjoyed it. It's a quiet film, and aside from the key setting in the suicide forest, it could almost be a stage play. I thought the actors did a really quality job with the heavy material they were given and ok, maybe it was a little emotionally manipulative, but I totally enjoyed having my emotions fucked with. Melancholic candy.
I'm still so sad about this. Was listening to all his music today. Black Hole Sun was the first song I ever danced to with a boy - that memory is imprinted forever - youth and nostalgia and ugh... So tragic to lose one of the good ones. So much creativity and artistry lends itself to darkness, and sometimes it just keeps you. RIP.
Congratulations to Avrgblkgrl, Liz, Sprite, as well as the top 10 and really everyone that entered to honour Alan's spirit and love of poetry!
She may have Bacterial Vaginosis, which is an overgrowth of bacteria, and very common - the smell gets worse post-sex, so that might be why you're both noticing it. She can go to her doctor to get a prescription gel to treat it, or try her luck with one of the over the counter products like CanesBalance..

If it's not this and something more random, she can maybe try a ph-balance wash like Vagisil and/or eat more probiotics.
