I read this 'serious' comment on Youtube arguing that Shiva would know who to attack based on 'scent'. That since people from both Hilltop and Alexandria visited Ezekiel in The Kingdom, they would carry the 'scent' of their respective camps and all the randoms would smell the same, so Shiva was going after the people that smelled 'unfamiliar' during the battle and saw them as the bad guys. This would be some highly evolved tiger radar. I think the audience really needed that 'feel good' scene after the oppression and depression of the season, and Shiva delivered. I will be crushed when they kill off that sexy CGI cat.

Judith is still at Hilltop, probably with some elderly babysitter type that couldn't go to fight. We see her there with Maggie and Enid just before Maggie decides to rally the troops.
I don't think Rick would have acted differently if it was Judith. I think he knows this is bigger than any one person, even his own loved ones. Michonne helped him see that earlier when they were on their supply run when they talked about possibly losing each other and how they had to be accepting of that and willing to go on.
I think it's an interesting contrast to Negan's outlook. He's not motivated by relationships - he's only motivated by resources and what's good for himself. Losing anyone from his group would be irrelevant - they're just there to fulfill a purpose, even his wives. He even chuckles when Sasha sheds tears at the idea that anyone else has to die and asks if those tears are for real. He doesn't get it. I think that's the overall story theme this season and the reason Rick tells him he's 'already dead' - as Maggie's final speech says - it's about the people and the relationships and they fight for each other. That's what maintains their humanity.

I think Eugene's only redemption arc for the group would be if he's tasked to make bullets for the 'All Out War' and ends up making them blanks instead (or maybe 80% blanks). Of course, he'd have to sacrifice himself or get out of the Sanctuary before the first major battle, but it would be the noble thing to do. I can't imagine making real bullets that you knew were meant for your friends (really, his family) - the same people that saved your ass over and over again from the beginning of the apocalypse. I'm hoping Sasha's final "I believe in you" speech will have him do the right thing.

Many years ago, Rachel blazed onto Lush with liquid red hot (brilliant!) stories, confidence and genuine kindness. On the social scene, she quickly became someone to look up to, while still managing to emerge as a real champion of the underdog. If you didn't already know her, you wanted to.
She's a quirky blend of 'can't look away' Oakland edge, whimsical Disney Princess, and she has a playful inner kitty vibe capable of just the right kind of bite. Pretty much a total original. I think this partly explains her fantastic ability to write quality stories that span a dizzying array of styles and voices - that mind is crisp!
Her devotion to the site and its betterment is complete and yeah - royally awesome. She's fully deserving of the accolades, and I'm grateful to call her a friend. Love you, girl! xx

I've been critical of this season, especially the first half, but I thought they really did a nice job of building momentum to the finale, especially the last couple of episodes leading up. The only flaws I found were errors in characters thinking (eg. Rick trusting the Heapsters with barely a sentence exchanged between them and the Fam robbery of Oceanside, which made them only moderately better than Negan).
The finale was really strong, and it was possibly the best season finale I can remember. It had the tension, plot pacing and heart. Both Sasha and Maggie pull in all the emotional accountability, even in the midst of the action. And it was fun to see Shiva enjoy her snacks. Everything (all the communities) have come together and it feels like there are rich possibilities for next season.
Sasha went out like a boss. Great (worthy) episode for her character.

OMG. My eyes skipped across this thread and I was convinced I must have been reading this wrong. This is so shocking. I had no idea he was ill. He was always so kind and friendly and helped me get some of my writing seen and reviewed, always eager to pass on news of potential writing opportunities. He was also a tireless champion of fighting against plagiarism and helping writers protect their work.

Theoretically, yes. UV and LED lamps both emit UVA light/radiation (4 x stronger than the natural sun). It's higher intensity for a shorter amount of time to cure the polish.
It can cause premature ageing and potentially skin cancer in the same way that tanning salons and outdoor-tanning-by-sun can cause the same.
You can help limit this by putting SPF-50 plus sunscreen on the hands prior to this (though you'll have to work with your manicurist to ensure it isn't washed off during the manicure) or she can help put it on for you without it touching your nails. I've heard of some places that use fingerless gloves.
Personally, I wouldn't be overly concerned about it if you're not doing it on the regular, and assuming you aren't super sensitive to UV light/sun. But yeah... technically, the theoretical risk is there. I don't use them.

Yes.
A few things they've gone off the rails with, in my opinion:
- Overdose on the 'terror of Negan'. Honestly, I love the actor, but I find the campy swagger and smirky theatrical monologue style of the character to be annoying. Maybe this character doesn't translate as well from the comics, but I thought the Governor was more compelling and believable as a villain.
- Fragmented episodes. I hate that the first half has all been insulated episodes that focus on new characters and maybe one or two regulars max. I think we've only seen Maggie for an episode and a half at this point. They should have been able to cover multiple story lines within a single episode for the sake of continuity and momentum.
- Too many bizarre fantasy-world characters. We have the medieval pageantry of 'The Kingdom' and its community-theatre leader, the submissive dungeon vibe of Negan's lair, a giant tiger, the apocalyptic-cult hipster dumpster gang who don't speak in full sentences, the all-female fishing village etc. It's bordering on feeling like a different show. I get that they need to introduce a ton of new characters for this upcoming 'war', but I feel like its an overload of overly strange characters nobody cares about.
- The zombies are no longer threatening or scary. They're merely bumps in the road that are quickly dispatched with minimal effort. Like swatting a mosquito. I get that they've evolved, but I kind of miss the tension the zombies used to create.
- The breakdown of strong characters. In the first half, they broke Rick's spirit. Daryl was caged in a cell and crying. And Carol - wtf did they do to this character?
- And... I still miss Glenn.
I'm still watching/invested and hopeful things will turn around and get exciting again. I get why they went this route for the greater storyline (breaking people, followed by a revolt), I just think they could have done it a little differently.

I don't have curly hair, but I know my hair oils and moisture lock-in products and I know what you mean about some of them feeling heavy or weighing hair down. I've tried a lot, and I always come back to Aveda's Light Elements Smoothing Fluid as a styling serum. I find it much more potent and pretty much weightless compared to similar ones (Biosilk, Moroccan or Argan oil etc.).
If you're looking to promote hair health and growth, I also recommend up to 5,000 mcg of Biotin per day.
I take 2 of these Nature's Bounty gummies with breakfast and then I'll pop a 1,000 mcg regular Biotin cap with both lunch and dinner. It's best to spread it out. It makes hair/nails grow fast and strong. I've noticed a difference since I started taking these supplements.
I also see consistently fantastic reviews on Grow Gorgeous hair serum (you massage it into the scalp). I'm on the fence still, but its on my radar. I might try it at some point as a booster.

I like Viseart for eyeshadows and I have a great nude matte palette from Becca as well as Burberry's 'Pale Barley' shadow which I use as my quick go-to when I'm in a rush. For liquid liner, it's Kat Von D's tattoo liner. I like the Too-Faced sweethearts flush blushes and the Burberry light glow ones (the shade 'Earthy' is a must) and of course, NARS. I have the Dior tie-dye ones ones from two summers ago that I love. Guerlain's terracotta line for bronzer is the best (I always try to grab one of their LE ones when they launch in summer). Last year Urban Decay launched some really cute bronzers (with the palm tree cases) that I use often. I am a huge fan of Becca and Dior highlighters. I have most of the Hourglass Ambient Light finishing powders. I used to use NARS for foundation/tinted-moisturizer, but I recently discovered Guerlain's Lingerie de Peau and it blows everything else I've used out of the water - so natural and even more second-skin that the Dior version. My brow style follows Candice Swanepoel. We have a similar face shape and colouring, so this suits me best. I follow my natural brow shape but just clean it up. I do use a bit of product for definition because as a blonde, I need a little boost, especially if I'm doing a stronger makeup look. My everyday look is a sweep of Benefit's Gimme Brow, but sometimes I'll go for a bit of brow powder or feather in some liner (either Anastasia or Urban Decay) for nighttime, but I aim to keep it subtle.

Yeah, I read that it got both booed and applauded at Cannes. I understand why, if you go in and view it through the filter of mainstream life and morality, not to mention some people were probably expecting a narratively straightforward horror flick with pretty people. I felt like it was almost like looking at an abstract painting or an art exhibit rather than watching a movie. The musical score really elevated it. As you said, very sensory overload. I loved that it was risky and that Refn just went for it, balls out, no apologies - even in that scene.
I ended up watching it a second time to appreciate the subtleties. Unfortunately a director almost has to first create something mainstream brilliant in order to feel like they have the creative license to produce something like this. At least Refn had the reputation to push this forward. I'd love more films like this as well. And yes - more Abbey Lee!

I finally saw The Neon Demon the other night, which is an art-house type psychological/surrealist horror. It's fucked up, stark, intelligent and uncomfortable. Reviews were polarizing - it won't appeal to mainstream audiences, but if you're ready for it - it's haunting and visceral and feels like a dark L.A. fairytale. Definitely more art than movie. I loved it.

If you're still looking for a good exfoliator, I would recommend this one (Peter Thomas Roth's FirmX Peeling Gel). It's been in my arsenal for the past two years and I like it enough that I've repurchased it (although a tube literally lasts forever).
I've used both the gritty physical exfoliators (many, many brands from a harder grit to fine microdermabrasion style), and this is one of my faves. It goes on like a gel and then you just rub in small circles all over your face and this stuff balls up and takes dead skin cells with it. It works really well at giving you a fresh baby-smooth face without tearing at your skin or causing red or dry patches. I considered whether it was just the product balling up and not affecting the skin, but there's a huge difference if you go over your skin a second time or use it on skin that you don't typically exfoliate. It almost gives you the feel/look of a quick facial peel, but it only takes a minute or two. It's great for on-the-go when you don't have time to mess around with time-consuming masks or peels. This is truly one of my favourites.
If you're looking for something with a heavier grit, you can look into Ole Henriksen's walnut scrub (but on some level, I feel like it's pretty similar to St Ives drugstore apricot scrub, so it's not really worth the extra $). And if you want a really awesome fine-grain style polish scrub, check out Dr Brandt's Microdermabrasion Scrub. Laura Mercier also has a nice face polish that falls in between large and fine grain but has a more creamy texture, so it's not as harsh.
